I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Santa Claus. Years ago, when I first started collecting ornaments for my Christmas tree, I only purchased Santas. Now I’ve branched out a bit, but Santa is definitely the predominant theme in my Christmas celebrations still. So it will probably come as no surprise that I actually squealed out loud over Tim Holtz’s new St. Nick Alterations die for Sizzix.
I think he seriously may be just the cutest thing ever!
So put him to work straight away on a fun mixed-media art tag for the Sizzix blog. Old St. Nick is decked out here in all his Christmas finery, with a soft fluffy beard and hat, accented with paint, Distress Ink and a touch of crystal clear glitter. I really love all the extra texture and detail you can bring to a die cut by adding in a bit of fabric to the mix.
The beautiful script sentiment is from the new Holiday Script Thinlits die set, die cut in crisp, bold black. And the pretty patterned papers are from Authentique’s holiday collection, Believe. I’ve got more details and a step-by-step tutorial up on the Sizzix blog, if you’d like to learn more.
