Today is a happy day, because finally it’s release day for all of the wonderful products you’ve been seeing in the sneak peeks throughout this past week. I am so excited to be joining in on the fun with a special guest project. You should have arrived from Ruthie’s blog, but if you’ve gotten lost anywhere along the way, you can start back at the My Creative Time blog.

We are huge Halloween lovers here at my house, so for my project today, I couldn’t resist making a spooky sweet gift set for a surprise treat for my daughter who’s just recently headed off to college. Can’t wait to see her face when she gets a hold of these!

These cute treats were made with the new Stitched Bat Die and the matching Bat Sentiments stamp set, which is the freebie set for this month’s release. I absolutely love how versatile this bat is, and know it’s going to be a big hit this holiday season. Makes the most adorable candy holder, and works great on cards, layouts, and home decor projects, too.

I am the last stop along the hop, so thank you so much for joining us!

And here’s more information for you about today’s release.

My Creative Time 70th Edition Release Week- Scallop Stitched Rosette

Image may contain: text

Hi everyone! It’s sneak peek week over at My Creative Time for their 70th Edition Release, and I am so excited to be joining in on the fun with a special guest designer project. Today is the first day of peeks, and Emma is showcasing a new die called the Large Scallop Stitched Rosette.

This new die is a larger version of Emma’s previously released rosette dies, and if you have that earlier set, you can now create three different sizes of the most adorable rosettes. Now how fun is that?

Once assembled, these new rosettes measure about 3.25″ wide, and are perfect for adding to all sorts of paper crafting and home decor projects, and even gift packing, too.

I added my rosettes to some gift tags made from the Stitched Squares Inside & Out die set, and topped them with accents die cut from the Bunch of Fun Circles die set. Little banner strips were stamped with Halloween sentiments from both the Prehistoric Holidays and Too Cute to Spook sets from previous releases.

My Creative Time 67th Edition Release Week- Stitched Favor Box

Hi everyone! It’s sneak peek week over at My Creative Time for their 67th Edition Release, and I am so excited to be joining in on the fun with a special guest designer project. Today is the last day of peeks, and Emma is showcasing a new gift-packaging die called the Stitched Favor Box.

This new die makes the cutest little favor box, and you will love how easy they are to put together. Perfect for making in bulk for parties, weddings, or any special occasion. I love the shape to these, and they are a good size for any number of small treats and gifts.

These favor boxes are absolutely adorable on their own, or can easily be dressed up to match any theme or event. I added a bit of ribbon through the top slit of the box, and accented with a hand-stamped tag. That sweet rose is from the Jr. Rolled Flower Dies, and the tag is from the Fun Stitched Tag Dies…. both previously released sets from Emma’s collection. The sentiment is from the new Sea You Soon stamp and die set, available tomorrow. The paper is from an older collection from Authentique called Harmony.

Proud To Be with Therm O Web

Hello, Friends! Happy Friday!

This week, vendors, artists, and crafters gathered in Salt Lake City for the third annual Sierra Pacific Crafts Mixed Media Show. And this year, for the first time, Therm O Web attended, showing off the latest addition to the Deco Foil line up….. Watercolor Deco Foils. And our new Mixed Media Sheets, too.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb ProudToBeCanvasSo of course this show is all about mixed media, and since America just celebrated its independence day, I combined the two to make a patriotic altered canvas, perfect for adding a touch of Americana to my home decor for the summer.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb ProudToBeCanvas3True to mixed media style, this 8×8 canvas is filled with layers. The background started with patterned paper, followed by layers of paint, stain, markers, and modeling paste. I used a Tim Holtz star layering stencil to create a subtle texture, and then added shiny bright detail with the new watercolor foils.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb ProudToBeCanvas4If you look closely at the foiled areas, you can see the variation in color to the new watercolor foils. The Amber foil, used on the sparklers, has a beautiful metallic shine in a gold, silver, and copper watercolor wash. The Lapis foil, used to accent the firecrackers and the background, ranges  from shades of blue into metallic silver.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb ProudToBeCanvas5
My funky junk firecrackers were free-hand cut and doodled. Those poor things have been sanded, torn, inked, painted, and stained, for an aged feel. Think I may have nailed that part!  I added rope wicks that I actually set on fire, for a bit of lifelike char. All in the name of art. Haha 😉

AudreyPettit Thermoweb ProudToBeCanvas2The papers are oldies, but goodies. The Freedom collection from Authentique. I pieced several prints for the firecrackers. And cut the sentiment from the papers, too.

I’ve got a full step-by-step tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

And here’s a peek at our 5 New Watercolor Deco Foil Transfer Sheets. From left to right: Amber, Emerald, Amethyst, Lapis and Summer Rainbow (coming soon!)

Nestled Jewelry Making with Authentique

Happy Friday, Friends! Today I have something completely different to share with you. I recently tried my hand at some very simple jewelry making, using Authentique’s beautiful fall collection, Nestled.

AudreyPettit-Nestled-FallPendants
I love trying new things, and projects like this make me wonder why I don’t more often. Although I have no idea how to complete intricate jewelry pieces, these chain pendants were sooooo easy to put together. And I love finding extra ways to use some of my paper crafting supplies.

AudreyPettit-Nestled-FallPendants2
I ran across the maker of these jewelry foundations this past summer at my local stamp show, and I was immediately smitten. The pieces are made by a company out of New Mexico called Craft Fantastic, and they have everything you need for making unique one-of-a-kind jewelry. You simply adhere the clear bauble to your favorite image using their liquid adhesive, let it dry for 30 seconds, and then trim around the shape. Press it into the foundation with a tacky dot, and viola.

AudreyPettit-Nestled-OwlKeyring
There’s tons of pieces to choose from, in a variety of shapes and styles, and even images already made to fit. But I went with some favorite stickers from Authentique’s Nestled collection for mine. So fun! SO easy! And really a great gift idea, too.

Thanks for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Spooky Wishes with Paper Sweeties

AudreyPettit PaperSweeties HappyHalloweenSet
Today I have the pleasure of guest designing for Paper Sweeties. Such a “sweet” collection of stamps and dies from my super sweet and talented friend, Debbie. I know many of you already know and love her work as much as I do, and I am so excited to share some projects with you Paper Sweeties fans today!

AudreyPettit PaperSweeties HappyHalloweenSet2
Many of you know by now how much I adore the fall and all things Halloween, so of course I chose the adorable Halloween set, Spooky Wishes, to play with. I cannot resist that sweet little ghost with its Boo sign and pumpkin treat bag. They were a perfect match up with the stars and banner from the Be Happy Sweet Cuts die set.

AudreyPettit PaperSweeties HappyHalloweenSet3
I paper pieced the ghost and sign with some older Authentique patterned papers, and shabby inked the edges for a time-worn feel. The pumpkin treat bags were watercolored. I added yellow Distress ink to the cream patterned paper before die cutting the stars, and then coated them with clear Wink of Stella for a bit of shimmer and shine.

The Paper Sweeties blog is full of inspiration and ideas, so do stop by and say hello! And thanks for popping in! Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Welcome to the My Creative Time 47th Edition Release Blog Hop! Today is a happy day, because finally it’s release day for all of the wonderful products you’ve been seeing in the sneak peeks throughout this past week. And to celebrate, we are taking one more look at the new stamps and dies from this month’s release. You should have arrived from Veronica’s blog, but if you’ve gotten lost anywhere along the way, you can always pop back to the start at My Creative Time.

AudreyPettit MCT TreatSleeve
This month’s release is so versatile and well-rounded, and I think my favorite thing about it is that there truly is a little bit of everything, including lots of great products for the upcoming holidays, as well as every day items that can be used year round. Today I have a little treat pocket to share, made with the new Stitched Treat Sleeve die. My treat pocket is dressed up for Christmas. But with all the great sentiments included in this release, you could just as easily whip this up for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, or any other special occasion.

AudreyPettit MCT TreatSleeve2
Another fabulous thing about this release is how well all the different products mix and match together. I used three of the new sets here. Of course the Treat Sleeve, but also the Belly Band stamps and dies which perfectly coordinate with the pocket, as well as the holly leaves from the Holiday Tags set. And not only that, I also added in a square frame die cut from last month’s Stitched Squares Inside & Out die set.

AudreyPettit MCT TreatSleeve3
The papers are from Authentique’s new Christmastime collection. A few matching stickers and a tiny twine tie are the final touch.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I am the last stop along the hop. But before we go, here’s a bit of information for you about today’s release.

My Creative Time 47th Edition Release Week- Happy Halloweeny

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! It’s sneak peek week over at My Creative Time for their 47th Edition Release, and I am excited to be joining in on the fun with a special guest designer project. Today is day three of the peeks, and Emma is showcasing two new sets called Stitched Belly Band Dies and Belly Band Sentiments.

AudreyPettit MCT BellyBand HalloweenyCard
Belly Band is a fun and versatile set that has five dies for creating wrappers and labels for all your holiday projects. It’s great for treat packaging, gift bags, or boxes, or for packaging up a set of matching notecards. It’s also perfect for adding embellishment to tags, or just dressing up a greeting card, like I’ve done today.

AudreyPettit MCT BellyBand HalloweenyCard2

One of my favorite things about this month’s release is how versatile the stamp and die sets are, and Belly Band is no exception. This set has nine sentiment images to choose from, including ones for all the major holidays, and even some general purpose ones, too. I made a Halloween card for today, but I love that this set could be used for many different occasions, all year long.

AudreyPettit MCT BellyBand HalloweenyCard3
I couldn’t resist pulling in some spooks from last month’s Too Cute to Spook stamp and die set. I stamped the ghost, spider, and label onto smooth white cardstock, and then added some instant age and grunge with Distress ink. The images were die cut with the matching dies, and popped onto the card using foam adhesive for a bit of dimension. The belly band was die cut from patterned paper and trimmed to fit my 3.5″ x 5″ card base. The paper is from Authentique’s new Halloween collection for this year, Moonlit.

My Creative Time 47th Edition Release Week- Holiday Tags

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! It’s sneak peek week over at My Creative Time for their 47th Edition Release, and I am excited to be joining in on the fun with a special guest designer project. Today is day two of the peeks, and Emma is showcasing a fabulous new stamp and die set called Holiday Tags.

AudreyPettit MCT HolidayTag LittleSomethingTagSet
If you’re looking for a fun and versatile tag set for creating your own handmade holiday tags this year, then Holiday Tags is just for you. This set is truly bursting with creative possibilities with six different tag die shapes, as well as a huge variety of accessory dies, stamped images, and sentiment stamps to choose from. There is the most adorable little Santa outfit in this set, and holly leaves, berries, and candy canes, too. Everything you need for holiday tags and more.

AudreyPettit MCT HolidayTag LittleSomethingTagSet2
I used the largest tag die for the base of my tags, and layered them with a second round stitched tag shape. Love that you can use the smaller tag dies as stand alone tags, or as frames and accents on a layered design, like I’ve done here.

AudreyPettit MCT HolidayTag LittleSomethingTagSet3
The paper is from Authentique’s new holiday collection called Christmastime. I added stamped and watercolored candy canes to the center of my tags, die cut with the matching candy cane die. The sentiment and tiny holly leaves are from the set, too. If you look closely, you can see the pierced score lines on the leaves… another detail I just love. I gently folded the leaves along the center line and then topped them all with a shiny red berry.

Distress Watercolor Best Blossoms

Yesterday I allowed myself the creative freedom to sit down with a classic old stamp set and play, just for fun. The challenge was to work on my stash of birthday cards using only supplies I already had out on my desk, along with the help of my favorite colors of Distress and this sweet old floral set from Stampin’Up.

AudreyPettit SU HappyBDayCard
Now considering what a terrible mess my desk is, this challenge sounds much harder than it actually was. Even so, it did help me to use up a few paper scraps, and combine papers I might not of otherwise ever put together… let alone use this old Best Blossoms stamp set, circa 2006. And for that, I do have to say I feel pretty good!

AudreyPettit SU HappyBDayCard2
I really do adore these flowers, old though they may be! And this Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, and Brushed Corduroy Distress combo is one of my absolute favorites. First step was inking the background watercolor paper in a light wash of pink and brown ink. And once dry, the leaves were stamped on top using both first and second generation stamping with the darker brown Brushed Corduroy ink. After all the leaves were stamped, I went over them with a wet paintbrush to soften and blur the outlines.

AudreyPettit SU HappyBDayCard3
The flowers were stamped onto a separate piece of watercolor paper using Abandoned Coral Distress ink, and were once again softened with a wet paintbrush. I went back in with a heavier concentration of color in the middle of the flowers once they were dry, and added Antique Linen to the very centers. And finally, I added dots to the centers using my Vintage Photo Distress marker, before cutting them out and adding them to my card base with foam adhesive.

AudreyPettit SU HappyBDayCard4
The thin strip of pink striped patterned paper was a leftover scrap from Simple Stories’ Summer Vibes collection, and the black woodgrain background is from Authentique’s new Beloved line. The sentiment is Sizzix. May Arts twine and a few craft sequins from my stash.

It really does feel good to use older supplies every once in awhile! I need to challenge myself more often. Of course that means not everything is still available… but I’ll try to link you to as much as I can below. Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
