Seeds of Kindness with Therm O Web

Hello Friends!
Happy Friday!

Did you all know that March is National Craft Month? A whole entire month dedicated to all the crafty peeps out there, like you and me! I don’t know about all of you, but that sounds like a month I could sink my teeth into.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-gardenseedspockets2
If I had to describe myself in just a few words, “crafty” would definitely be one of them. Over the years, I think I’ve tried just about every craft out there, some with much more success than others.  You all already know that I’m crazy for paper. And crazy for fabric, too. And recently, I’ve jumped back into jewelry again. As a matter of fact, I’m having the girls over for a jewelry making party soon.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-gardenseedspockets3
This month, Therm O Web is hosting a very special party for National Craft Month, with awesome sales promotions, free shipping, a photo a day challenge on Instagram, and of course… lots and lots of amazing prizes. Be sure to follow Therm O Web on Instagram to play along, and check out their Facebook page for all the details! You won’t want to miss out on all the fabulous loot they are giving away!

No automatic alt text available.

I’m joining in on the fun today with a project I shared on the Therm O Web blog this week. A sweet little spring-inspired gift idea, flower seed pocket pouches. Perfect for all those spring birthdays on your list, or that special gardener in your life.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-gardenseedspockets4
These happy pockets are made with lots of oldies but goodies from my stash. Papers from BasicGrey. Dies from Brenda Walton for Sizzix and My Creative Time. And of course a bit of shiny bright Deco Foil, too. If you’d like to learn more about these seed pouches, you can find the full tutorial on the Therm O Web blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Friends! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! It’s going to be beautiful here again….. but I’m pouting. Colonoscopy prep starts for me this weekend. Talk about a Debbie Downer!

Creativation 2017- The World to Me with Therm O Web

Hi Friends! Happy Friday!

Today I have another Creativation CHA project to share with you. This time, a card and tag set I made for Therm O Web using a brand new product to the deco foil line up, Gel Transfer Medium.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-worldtomeset
If you’ve been following deco foil along the years, you know that there are many different ways to apply the foil sheets, and that foil works great on paper, fabric, and just about any surface under the sun.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-worldtomeset2
Now Therm O Web has come out with yet another way to utilize the foil, and I think this may be my favorite way yet. The new Gel Transfer Medium works somewhat like texture paste, and allows you to add foil using all your favorite stencils. How cool is that?

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-worldtomeset3
Simply apply the Gel Medium to paper using a palette knife and stencil, just like you would a regular texture paste. Allow the gel to dry, cover the pattern with a sheet of foil, and run it through a laminator to set. Works with any stencil, and how cool to find a new way to use supplies you may already have on hand.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-worldtomeset4
I pulled out a couple of my favorite old Hero Arts BasicGrey stencils for my projects. The You & Me Simple Set from Simple Stories, and a few old goodies from BasicGrey.

The new Gel Transfer Medium will be available in March. And in the mean time, you can check out the full tutorial on these projects on the Therm O Web blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Weekend!

Deck the Halls

Happy Wednesday, Crafty Friends!

I realized this morning that I’m going to run out of time before I can finish sharing all my holiday cards for the year. As much as I’ve tried, I still have quite a few scrap pile cards to post that I made at my scrapbooking retreat back in September. But with only a couple of days to go before the big day, I’ll just share one last card with you. Made once again with that favorite old BasicGrey collection, 25th & Pine.

audreypettit-bg-deckthehalls
It still surprises me how many cards I was able to make with my leftover supplies, and how much of it I still have left. For this card, I mixed several patterned papers for the background, followed by a strip from the Snippets booklet across the center. The stockings journaling card is from the Snippets booklet, too.

audreypettit-bg-deckthehalls2
In my attempts to use up the transparency die cuts, I added one for the sentiment strip, and placed another behind the journaling card. The peek reminds me of a roof-line on an itty bitty house. So now, like the story goes, these stockings are hung on the chimney with care.

audreypettit-bg-deckthehalls3
I’ve got another scrapbooking retreat coming up in January. My annual Myrtle Beach trip with the girls. And I’m starting to think I need to see if I can’t use up the rest of these leftovers, and get a head start on my holiday cards for next year. After all, at this point in time, it almost feels like a challenge. And I’m always up for a good challenge!

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday week! Merry Christmas, my friends!

Star Light Star Bright

Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Monday! The countdown is definitely on. Is everyone ready for Christmas? I spent the weekend doing a few final preparations, and except for last-minute details, I think I’m done. Now its just to sit back and enjoy the season, and soak up every minute with my family.

audreypettit-bg-happyholidaysornamentcard
With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I haven’t been able to spend much time in my craftroom. But I do still have lots of cards to share from my scrapbooking retreat back in September. Here’s another one I made with that favorite old BasicGrey collection, 25th & Pine, based on RC SFYTT # 36.

36_May2016

audreypettit-bg-happyholidaysornamentcard3
The background is pieced from the 6×6 papers, and then layered with a journaling card from the Snippets booklet, popped up with foam tape for a bit of dimension. Chipboard accents dress up two of the corners.

audreypettit-bg-happyholidaysornamentcard2
I wrapped twine around the center of the card for hanging the ornament, tied into a simple bow and gussied up with enamel dots, a star sticker on top, and a star transparency behind.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful holiday week ahead!

Season’s Greetings

Happy Wednesday, Crafty Friends!

It’s a busy and happy week here at my house. Lots to do still on my holiday list, but I have managed to cross off quite a few items, too. Yesterday I helped my boy move out of his dorm for winter break. And my parents arrive on Friday. So I have much to be grateful for, and much still to get done. But it’s finally beginning to feel like Christmas around here.

audreypettit-bg-seasonsgreetingscard
I haven’t had much time to spend in my craft room, but I do still have lots of holiday cards to share from my scrapbooking retreat back in September.  Here’s another one I made with that favorite old BasicGrey collection, 25th & Pine.

audreypettit-bg-seasonsgreetingscard2
I’ve been concentrating mainly on the traditional red and green color combo from this collection, but today’s card pulls out some of the blue from the line, for a whole different look.

audreypettit-bg-seasonsgreetingscard3
I used the Snippets booklet again for the sentiment and strip across the center, and mixed several papers for the rest of the design. The presents are from the sticker sheet. I added them onto the card with foam adhesive for a bit of dimension, and then finished off with enamel dots and twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all are having a wonderful week and are knocking things off of your holiday to-do lists, too!

It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends!
Happy Monday!

As I’ve mentioned before, when I was off on my scrapbooking beach retreat in September, I started working on my Christmas cards for the year. I finished 16 cards at the retreat, all made with a favorite old holiday collection, BasicGrey’s 25th & Pine. I’ve been slowly sharing those cards over the past several months, and today I’m here with another, based on Reverse Confetti’s SFYTT #37.

37_June2016

audreypettit-bg-likechristmascard
I love playing along with sketch challenges, but don’t always get the chance to keep up to date. I thought it would be fun to bring some past sketches with me to the beach, and work my way through a bunch of old favorites. Really helps with the productivity when I’m busy gabbing and blabbing.

audreypettit-bg-likechristmascard2
When I pulled out all my old 25th & Pine supplies at the crop, I noticed that I had a ton of the transparency die cuts leftover, and this sketch seemed the perfect opportunity to put a bunch of them to use. Round peppermint candies were a great fit for the circle images in the sketch, and the side tabs finally gave me an excuse to use those geo-marker things that I never know what to do with. And topped it all off with a transparency sentiment strip, too.

audreypettit-bg-likechristmascard3
All told, I used 7 transparency die cuts on this card, and lots of patterned paper scraps, as well. And for that, I’m giving myself one solid “Atta Girl”. But still….. I’ve hardly made a dent in my 25th & Pine stash, which is really kind of amazing. Will it never end?

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope your week is off to a great start!

Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree & Sneak Peek

Hello and Happy September, also know as Pumpkin Spice and Pumpkin Everything season! Around here it's SO MUCH NEW AWESOME STUFF season!  If you opened your newsletter last week, you know that there are FOUR new PRODUCT LINES being introduced in September.  Not just 4 new stamps or dies (we'll have those and they:

audreypettit-bg-rockinaroundcard2
This sketch had the perfect focal panel for the large die cut tree I wanted to use, layered of course on one of those scalloped-edge Snippets pages I’ve been obsessed with. I added a gold star sticker to the top of the tree, and wrapped the panel with candy-stripe twine. The sentiment is a transparency strip, backed with a bit of white cardstock to allow the sentiment to shine.

More papers from the 6×6 paper pad. And a few enamel dots to finish.

Anybody ready for another holiday sneak peek? Just two more days until my AudOnes Prims Holiday Shop opens!

A 25th & Pine Happy Holidays

Happy Friday, Crafty Friends!

When I was off on my scrapbooking beach retreat in September, I started working on my Christmas cards for the year. I finished 16 cards at the retreat, all made with a favorite old holiday collection, BasicGrey’s 25th & Pine. I’ve been slowly sharing those cards over the past several weeks, and today, I’m here with another.

audreypettit-bg-happyholidayscard
When I left for the retreat, never did I think that I would end up focusing on just one collection, but that’s exactly what I did. Once I got started, I realized just how many leftovers I still had, and then it hit me all over again…. paper collections used to really come with a whole lotta loot.

audreypettit-bg-happyholidayscard2
So this card is once again my attempt to use up as much of that loot as I could. I used three different 6×6 patterned papers to piece the background, and then added in a couple of scrap strips cut into banner flags.

audreypettit-bg-happyholidayscard3
For the main panel, I used some pieces that I noticed I used to tend to shy away from…. the transparency die cuts. Love how they look, but you do have to be a bit strategic with the adhesive. For this card, I disguised my tape on the large transparency frame with the sentiment sticker. And a small glue dot just behind the berries to attach the holly leaves hardly shows. I’ve been loving the scalloped edges on the Snippets booklet pages, so I added a bit of that to the bottom of the frame. Tied the whole with twine, and popped it onto the card with a bit of foam adhesive.

One more card knocked off the holiday list! Can’t believe I’m this far ahead of the game. How about you all? Started on your holiday projects yet?

And speaking of holidays, it’s just about time to open my new shop!

Sneak peeks start on Monday! Can’t wait to share!

Happy weekend, everyone!

audreypettit-dec25thcard
I am a sucker for vintage glass ornaments, so this sweet paper version is one of my favorite pieces from the collection. I added the ornament to a large chipboard oval, and dressed it up with sequins, twine, and tag.

audreypettit-dec25thcard2
The card base is a simple pieced background, with papers cut on a diagonal. It’s a mix of 6×6 and 12×12 prints for a bit of interest. And I used some tiny scraps for border and flags.

Don’t Open Until Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Monday and Happy October! My favorite month of the year!

When I was off on my scrapbooking beach retreat a couple of weeks ago, I started working on my Christmas cards for the year. I finished 16 cards at the retreat, all made with a favorite old holiday collection, BasicGrey’s 25th & Pine. Today I have one of those cards to share with you, based on Reverse Confetti’s SFYTT #34.

Monthly Reverse Confetti Challenge, Sketch For You to Try (SFYTT #34). March 2016.:

audreypettit-dontopencard
I used to love playing along with sketch challenges, but it’s been quite awhile since I’ve had the chance. I thought it would be fun to bring some past sketches with me to the beach, and work my way through a bunch of old favorites. Really helps with the creativity when I get busy gabbing and blabbing.

audreypettit-dontopencard2
Once again, it was a goal to use up as many of my old 25th & Pine scraps as I could, so this sketch was just the ticket with all those layers. I used a mix of papers for the background, and then several of the Snippets pages were used for the center panel. Stickers, twine, and enamel dots finish the scene.
