It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends!
Happy Monday!

As I’ve mentioned before, when I was off on my scrapbooking beach retreat in September, I started working on my Christmas cards for the year. I finished 16 cards at the retreat, all made with a favorite old holiday collection, BasicGrey’s 25th & Pine. I’ve been slowly sharing those cards over the past several months, and today I’m here with another, based on Reverse Confetti’s SFYTT #37.

I love playing along with sketch challenges, but don’t always get the chance to keep up to date. I thought it would be fun to bring some past sketches with me to the beach, and work my way through a bunch of old favorites. Really helps with the productivity when I’m busy gabbing and blabbing.

When I pulled out all my old 25th & Pine supplies at the crop, I noticed that I had a ton of the transparency die cuts leftover, and this sketch seemed the perfect opportunity to put a bunch of them to use. Round peppermint candies were a great fit for the circle images in the sketch, and the side tabs finally gave me an excuse to use those geo-marker things that I never know what to do with. And topped it all off with a transparency sentiment strip, too.

All told, I used 7 transparency die cuts on this card, and lots of patterned paper scraps, as well. And for that, I’m giving myself one solid “Atta Girl”. But still….. I’ve hardly made a dent in my 25th & Pine stash, which is really kind of amazing. Will it never end?

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope your week is off to a great start!

  1. Lovely! The center panel is so pretty and perfectly centered. What a fun use of all those transparencies. I’ve been challenging myself to use up some stash too. Kudos to you for creating such a pretty card with all those pieces!

  2. It’s so gorgeous Audrey. I miss Basic Grey – some of their collections are classic. Your 25th and Pine card is delightful! (I’m actually thinking of making a Christmas Quilt in this for my oldest daughter because I love the colours and design so much) The peppermints are bright and happy sitting front and centre. Love the sentiment – love that song.. and now I’m singing it!!!
