Violets are Blue with BasicGrey

JAD_BlogReveal_header

Although most of us are trying to get a start on our holiday projects these days, today I am going to do a bit of a time jump and share with you a fun Valentine-inspired card that I made with a brand new line from BasicGrey called J’Adore. J’Adore is the sweetest little lovey-dovey collection, perfect for all your love-themed projects, in a very beautiful and unique color combination for Valentine’s Day. It is quite different from the same ol’, same old… and I think you guys will really like it!

AudreyPettit BG J'Adore VioletsAreBlueAlthough most traditional Valentine’s lines are filled with lots and lots of pink, J’Adore brings a whole new range of colors into the mix, including turquoise, raspberry, and lime and olive green. I created a little love note card here incorporating the whole mix of color for a bit of a different take on the norm. And that really works for me.

I really love the new vellum envelopes, so let that be the star of my design. I placed a 3×4 Lil’ Snippet card and fancy die cut label shape inside the envelope, then made a stitched liner from plain white cardstock. The little transparency hearts look like they are bubbling right out of the top.

I’ve got more details, including the complete supply list and free downloadable project sheet up today on the BasicGrey blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Ok, time to re-wind back into Thanksgiving mode. Tomorrow is my birthday, and this weekend, my boy will be coming home to spend an early Thanksgiving with us. I have so much to be thankful for… so many wonderful blessings. And at the top of that list, I always count YOU, my sweet friends! Thanks so much for stopping by. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

  1. I think all those wonderful colors are a great change from the standard Valentine color palette. I am totally in love with that vellum envelope and the way you’ve made it the centerpiece. The little transparency hearts actually make you think they are rising up out of there. Fantastically designed as always. Hope your birthday weekend is everything you could hope for. Hugs!

  2. No wonder you felt like Valentines. It’s your birthday and your kids are home. What could be better than that?
