Show and Tell

Hiya Sweeties! Happy Friday to you! I don’t know about you all, but this week seems to have blown by at record speeds. I guess being the last week of summer vacation and wanting things to slow down will do the opposite and make everything speed up instead. Funny how that works.

Monday we head back to school for the start of a very big year for us. So today I have a fun school-themed project to share with you all. This week on the Epiphany Crafts blog, we have been showcasing projects using both the Square and Round 25 Shape Studio Tools. I used both shapes here on a cute gift set that would be perfect for a new teacher, or a returning student.

Whenever I make a gift set, I want the pieces to coordinate, but not necessarily be completely matchy matchy. I think the whole set has more visual interest that way. The key for me is to use the same papers and elements throughout, but to change up their arrangement. You’ll notice that I used the same four patterned papers, banners, and layered die cuts on both pieces here, but changed up their placement for a bit of fun.

For the card, I created a simple background that’s layered with a couple of border strips across the top and tied with twine. A banner strip comes down over the borders, and detail is added with lots of layered die cuts in different shapes and textures. I added a hand-stamped sentiment strip, and a custom bubble cap embellishment made with the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Shape Studio Tool dresses up the center of the star. Then I created a fun border for the bottom corner of the card using all my patterned papers and the Epiphany Crafts Square 25 Shape Studio Tool.

The treat pocket has the same basic design so it was quick and easy to make since all the design work had already been done. I love this little pocket pouch. So easy to make and can hold so many different treats, school supplies, notes, or even gift cards. Just cut a strip of 12″ paper to whatever width will best hold your treat. Here I measured the width of the candy bar and added an extra inch. Fold up the bottom of the strip and decorate the front. You can cut down the paper, or add extra to fit your needs. Staple or stitch the pocket closed, use brads, or in my case, just tie some twine around the pocket, leaving the sides open. Anything goes. Just have fun!

For more project ideas featuring the Round and Square 25 Shape Studio Tools, and to get entered for your chance to win a Round 25 Tool plus matching Bubble Caps, be sure to stop by the blog! One lucky winner will be chosen and announced on the Epiphany Crafts blog next Monday.

Good luck everyone! And thanks so much for stopping by!
