Frosty Friends with CardMaps

Happy Monday, crafty friends! I’m kicking off the week with a card share featuring another card that I made for the PageMaps site using one of the new January CardMaps sketches.

Here is the fun sketch that I used, and my take on it using PhotoPlay Paper’s adorable Winter Memories collection.

You all know that I’m a huge sucker for cute critters, and this paper collection is filled with them. Love that this line works equally well for holiday cards as it does for the winter season, which is the emphasis of my card today.

I closely followed the sketch design with layers of patterned papers edged in lacy die cut trim. I cut a focal block from papers with a more solid print to help the cute woodland animal stand out. The snowbank was die cut using Heffy Doodle Slopey-Joes border dies. And then a twine tie finished the design.

We were forecast to get our first snowfall of the year this past week…. but it didn’t happen. Maybe soon?

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Today’s special offers include the 10 Best Deals of 2020 and an extra 5% off coupon code, and as if that wasn’t enough of an incentive to shop, you will receive a FREE Sizzix Merry & Bright Thinlits Die Set  with your order!

This is the adorable Sizzix Merry & Bright Thinlits word die that is the freebie with purchase today at Scrapbook.com. Yesterday I shared a holiday gift tag that I created with the die, and now I am back with a fun Christmas card, once again made with some favorites of mine…. Santa Claus himself and beautiful holiday plaid.

Trying to share a bit of a side view so that you can see a hint of the candy cane-striping you can achieve by stacking layers of red and white die cuts together. On the tag from yesterday, I ended with white cardstock, and today I finished with red for a bit of a different look. The sentiment was then placed onto an ephemera tag for a quick and easy focal point. I added a strip of patterned paper and another border die cut to the bottom of the tag for extra embellishment.

The papers are a mix of PhotoPlay’s two holiday collections this year, Not a Creature Was Stirring and Christmas Cheer. I am such a sucker for plaid!

Be sure to pop over to Scrapbook.com to snatch up today’s freebie die and take advantage of all the amazing holiday savings! And thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Holidays with PhotoPlay Paper

Happy Friday, crafty friends! It is Friday the 13th in 2020, which feels like a double whammy of bad mojo in this crazy year we’re having, if you are at all superstitious for such things. I plan to stay inside and keep my head down today…. just to keep on the safe side of things. Maybe get some crafting in, starting this morning with this fun holiday card share that I made with PhotoPlay Paper’s new Christmas Cheer collection.

This sweet card was made with just two elements from the collection, the 6×6 paper pad and the die cut ephemera pack. I love the plaids and polka dots in this line, and one of my favorite things about the small paper pad is that they have included images that you can use as focal points, like this cute snowman here. I simply added a die cut frame, heart, and sentiment strip, and a scalloped border punch edging to finish the design.

Happy Friday the 13th! Stay safe, and hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Christmas Cheer with PhotoPlay Paper

Happy Thursday, crafty friends! Today I have a holiday card to share that I made with the new Christmas Cheer collection by PhotoPlay Paper.

This card was made with just two elements from Christmas Cheer, the 6×6 paper pad and the ephemera die cuts. I used a corner rounder on the bottom corners and a photo frame die cut to frame one of the journaling cards included in the paper pad. Sweet and simple.

Have you all started on your holiday cards yet? I’m glad I worked on some this past January at my scrapbook retreat, because I am really behind now. As difficult as 2020 has been, the days sure slip by quickly, don’t they?

Thanks so much for stopping by. Wishing you all a wonderful day!

School is Fun with PhotoPlay Paper

Happy Friday, crafty friends! Today we’re heading back to school here on the blog with PhotoPlay Paper’s Recess collection.

Look at that adorable school bus filled with critters! You know I can’t resist that. And that rainbow stripe paper! ❤ This long and skinny tag was inspired by the slimline card designs that are so popular right now, and I love that it can do double duty as a gift tag and as a bookmark. And I think for sure this would brighten up somebody’s school day.

Happy weekend, friends! Thanks so much for stopping by!

T’was the Night with PhotoPlay Paper

Happy Monday, crafty friends! Today we’re back to Christmas here on the blog, with another holiday card that I made with PhotoPlay Paper’s adorable Not a Creature Was Stirring collection.

I started with one of the new ColorPlay pre-cut and scored white card bases, and layered with papers from the 6×6 paper pad. The Santa image is also from the 6×6 paper pack, and I just clipped off the top corners and punched a hole to turn the 3×4 journaling card into a tag.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! And thanks so much for stopping by!

Teacher’s Rock with PhotoPlay Paper

Happy Monday, crafty friends, and happy Labor Day! It may be a holiday, but today we’re heading back to school here on the blog with this sweet teacher card made with the new Recess collection by PhotoPlay Paper.

I absolutely adore this rainbow stripe paper and had fun mixing several prints from the 12×12 paper kit for the base of this petite 3.5″ x 5″ card. The panda is from one of two cut-apart journaling card sheets from the kit, which I layered with a border paper strip and stickers on a white tag.

I guess school is back in session for most everybody now. Sure is challenging this year due to Covid. Now more than ever, we need to thank our teachers. So to all my educator friends out there, you rock! This one’s for you! ❤

He’s Checking His List with PhotoPlay Paper

Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! I’m back today with another card to share that I made with PhotoPlay Paper’s adorable holiday collection, Not a Creature Was Stirring. This time, I mixed 6×6 paper and ephemera die cuts with the coordinating stamps and dies.

PhotoPlay has come out with pre-cut and scored white A2 card bases, and I love how eliminating that one simple step really speeds up the card making process. I layered the card base with patterned paper from the 6×6 paper pad and then wrapped the center with twine. The tag, present, white circle (flipped to the back side), and banner flag are from the ephemera die cut pack. The cute mouse and sentiment are from the matching stamp set, which were colored and die cut with the coordinating dies.

It’s a big day at my house. My son’s 25th birthday! Wishing him, and all of you, a super wonderful day!!

So Fly with PhotoPlay Paper’s Camp Happy Bear

Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! It’s the last week of August already and starting to feel like the final days of summer are slipping us by. But before that happens, I wanted to share one last summery project with you. This cute card was made way back in January for the Creativation 2020 trade show featuring PhotoPlay Paper’s adorable Camp Happy Bear collection.

Now I don’t do much camping now, but in my younger days that was one of my favorite things to do. I loved to fish (of the catch and release variety), lounge at the water’s edge, and sit around the campfire…. so this fun collection, which reminds me of all those happy times, definitely warms my heart. I used a mixture of stickers and die cut ephemera to build this sweet scene. The background was inked in a gradient of pale green to yellow Distress inks to match the papers I chose. I pulled out my old Fiskars cloud and scalloped border punch to add details to the design.

Labor Day weekend is right around the corner, and you know what that means…..

It’s almost time for the spooks to begin!

Not a Creature Was Stirring with PhotoPlay Paper

Happy Friday, crafty friends! I’m smiling to myself as I write this post, thinking how this is that crazy time of year when it’s technically still summer, but that you begin to bounce back and forth between Fall, Halloween, and Christmas projects. But today I am doing just that, with this cute holiday card featuring the new Not a Creature Was Stirring collection from PhotoPlay Paper.

I love a good critter collection, and Not a Creature Was Stirring is just that, filled with lots of adorable little holiday mice. This guy is from the ephemera die cut pack, layered with strips and blocks of patterned papers from the 6×6 paper pad. The white circle is a piece of ephemera flipped to the back side, which is a great way to utilize images and prints that might not otherwise work on your design.

Christmas in August is a thing, right? 😀
How about you, friends? Any of you started on your holiday cards for the year?
