Teacher Treats with Photo Play Paper

Happy Friday, Friends!

Today I have an end-of-year teacher appreciation gift to share that I made for Photo Play Paper using their adorable Real Genius collection.

AudreyPettit PPP RealGenius TeacherGiftSet
These sweet little containers are treat pockets, and I love them because they can hold a ton of goodies. Not only are there pockets on both sides that can fit gift cards, notes, tea bags, or candy, you can also attach a cello bag filled with treats or baked goods in between the two pockets, as well.

AudreyPettit PPP RealGenius TeacherGiftSet4
I dressed up the front of each pocket with school-themed labels. A printed journaling card fits in the front, and is a great spot for you or your child to write a little heartfelt note.

AudreyPettit PPP RealGenius TeacherGiftSet2
I filled the back pockets with tea bags and gift cards.

And attached cookies to the inside.

Teachers really do work hard all year, and they deserve a special treat that packs a lot of punch, like these multi-pocket pouches. And best thing is, they are super quick and easy to create, too. There are lots of wonderful tutorials and videos out there for putting together these double-sided treat containers. Click HERE for the tutorial I used, posted by Studio M on Splitcoaststampers.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Hot Cocoa Sliders with Authentique

It hit me, in a brief little moment of panic this morning, that Christmas is now officially less than three weeks away. And of course, I am no where near ready. But if any of you are like me, and are looking for a quick and easy stocking stuffer or holiday sweet treat, I do have a super simple idea to share with you today. Hot cocoa sliders made with Authentique’s adorable Believe collection.

These hot cocoa sliders are festive and fun, and are a great project to make in mass for all those friends, co-workers, neighbors, and teachers on your holiday gift giving list. They are just a simple paper sleeve, tied with a bit of ribbon. Undo the bow and pull on the ribbon, and the cocoa packet slips right out.

The journaling cards from the Enhancements Cut Apart paper make it so easy to dress up the front of the sliders. And with a whole sheet of adorable printed sentiments to choose from, you can whip out a whole batch of sliders in no time. Just add a card, top it off with a round Details cardstock sticker, and you are done. I’ve got the full tutorial up on the Authentique blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Friends! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Easter Treats with Therm O Web

AudreyPettit Thermoweb EasterBunnyTreats

Hi Sweeties! I’m sneaking back in today with a surprise extra post. I don’t want to let Easter week slip by without sharing my new Easter projects with you. You all know I can’t just let a holiday pass by! So I hope you don’t mind if we have a busy week here on the blog. I’ve got lots of fun little bunny rabbits to show, starting with these softie felt pocket pouches I made for Easter Treats Week on the Therm O Web blog.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb EasterBunnyTreats2These cute little felt pockets are the perfect size for holding some special holiday candy treats or small gifts. Or how cute would these be as a table setting on your Easter table with a napkin and silverware tucked up inside? I’m thinking the soft felt would make this a great jewelry pouch, too. And being made from fabric, these little pockets are completely re-usable. So many ideas.

Of course my two sweeties are awfully partial to sweets, so candy tied up in a cello bag with a big bow for me.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb EasterBunnyTreats4I’ve got the complete step-by-step tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be back tomorrow with another fun Easter bunny project using Sizzix dies. Hope to see you all then!

Happy New Year

It’s a new year! Time for new beginnings and a fresh start for all. Here’s to us, my friends! May 2014 bring health, happiness, and prosperity to all. Here’s hoping this upcoming year is our best year ever!

happy-new-year-2014---retro-card_894136I am not one for making resolutions or following any particular new year traditions. Mom, however, made sure to scare away all evil spirits at midnight and greeted the proper First Footer this morning, ensuring good luck for the upcoming year. Little confession from me, though…although I was semi-conscious at the stroke of midnight, I greeted the arrival of the new year from the safe, cozy, snug confines of my bed. Not much of a party going on here. 🙂

I do, however, have a fun and festive party idea to share with you today that I made for the Authentique blog. These cute party cones make a great party favor for any occasion. I could so see these done up in silver and gold and filled with streamers, poppers, and noisemakers for New Year’s. Or perhaps made in pink or blue for a baby shower, or colors matching a wedding party…

AudreyPettit-Wishes-PartyCones2Or in my case, done up for a birthday celebration using Authentique’s adorable new birthday collection, Wishes.

AudreyPettit-Wishes-PartyCones3The cones are the perfect size for holding lots of treats and sweets or homemade baked goods. I tucked mine upright into a glass to place at each place setting, but they would also look cute laying on a plate, tied up with a napkin, and they make a great take-away gift for your party guests. Love a versatile project, like that.

AudreyPettit-Wishes-PartyCones4I’ve got more details and step-by-step directions up on the Authentique blog, if you’d like to see more.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friends! I am ever grateful for your visits and friendship! Happy New Year!

Sweet Treats with Sizzix

Making up a package of treats is one of my favorite simple gift ideas. They are quick and easy, and work for pretty much everyone on my gift-giving list. They make fabulous party favors, too. And best of all, you can adapt them to any size or theme you wish, making this gift idea perfectly customizable for any occasion.

Audrey Pettit Sizzix Sweet Treats

Today I am excited to share some spring-inspired sweet treats I created for my first official design team project on the Sizzix blog. Wouldn’t these be a great idea for those end-of-the-year teacher appreciation gifts? Or perhaps some sweets for Mother’s Day? If Mom is a gardener, you could substitute seeds. Or tea for the tea lover? The possibilities are endless.

Audrey Pettit Sizzix Sweet Treats3

The base of these sweet containers are made from just a strip of paper and a few simple folds. I created a window opening in the front panel and secured a cello bag filled with candies inside. They really could not be more easy and quick to put together. Then have fun dressing up your containers to match your theme. For me, pretty much every occasion seems to call for flowers and butterflies. 😉

Audrey Pettit Sizzix Sweet Treats4

Aren’t those flowers just beautiful? I am always so smitten with the rolled flower dies. These are the Scrappy Cat Sizzlits 3D Rose Flower die. I added the flowers to a simple topper made from die cut On the Edge Distressed Doilies, tied with pretty trim. Tuck in a few leaves and a quick banner strip, and you are done. I have a full step-by-step photo tutorial on the Sizzix blog, if you’d like to see more.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hi Sweeties! Happy Friday! I hope you all had a very nice Valentine’s Day yesterday. Do anything special? I was expecting to have a rather quiet day, myself, but it ended up being the most lovely day full of surprises. One of which was this beautiful luncheon at my friend, Joanne’s, house.

Although we had a crafty play day scheduled, lunch was a complete surprise. And look at how pampered we were. Heart shaped rolls and pink beverages. Heart confetti and handmade flowers. Joanne pulled out the antique family cut crystal and her own wedding china and stemware. And not only did we get a wrapped chocolate bar as a favor, there was also a box of cupcakes to take home for each of us.

What a fabulous Valentine treat, right? Makes me feel like a princess!

Speaking of Valentine treats, I have one more to share with you today that I made for our special Valentine feature on the Epiphany Crafts blog this week.

There’s something about Valentine’s Day that just calls for Conversation Hearts. I don’t care to actually eat the things, but traditions are traditions, after all. And they sure look cute all packaged up in these easy treat containers.

I have the full step-by-step tutorial for creating these little cuties up on the Epiphany Crafts blog. And is anybody interested in winning Epiphany’s brand new Hexie Tool?? Be sure to stop by the blog for details!

Trick or Treat

Hi Sweeties! Happy Wednesday! This week sure is flying by at warp speeds again. I think this is the first day in recent memory that I can finally slow down and rest up a bit. It’s been super busy with my out-of-state visitor and my go at the annual Halloween Haunted House Tour. But I’m very happy to report that I was declared the immediate winner of the tour, even though we haven’t even seen Paige’s house yet! It may be a bit premature………but I’ll take my victories any way I can get them! 😉

This week, we are working with Sweet Stamp Shop on the Epiphany Crafts blog. They sent me their Haunted House set to work with that I just adore. I teamed the cutie pie castle up with my favorite kraft cardstock to make treat containers.

Individual goody bags like these are a fun way to package up small treats and gifts. They are also perfect for gift cards, and best yet, you can create two bags from just one 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, making these as economical as they are cute! And they are super easy, too. The step by step directions are up on the Epiphany Crafts blog if you’d like to give these a try.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friends! I’ll be back soon with a fun treat for me, a guest designer post for We R Memory Keepers! See you soon!

Star Student

Ever since little Miss Nik had her freshman orientation last Friday, we’ve really had back to school on our minds. What a big year this is for us. Pete is finishing up his high school career, while Nik is just beginning hers. As you can imagine, she is both nervous and excited about all the changes this new year will bring.

My kiddos are growing up so quickly, but I know no matter how old they get, they both still love to find notes and goodies in their lunchboxes.  I mean, who doesn’t like a surprise, right? So I decided to make some back to school treats to brighten their first day. This little pencil pouch is going to get tucked into Nik’s lunchbox. I just know it’s going to really make her smile.
As some of you may remember, Little Yellow Bicycle is partnering up with us for a second week of Splash projects on the Epiphany Crafts blog. I used the scraps leftover from my mini album to create this quick and easy pocket pouch. I love that you can slip lots of school supplies or any number of treats into the pocket. I can easily see more pencils, pens, rulers, or memo pads stuffing the pouch. Or perhaps a candy bar or pixie sticks would be in order. A little journaling card slipped in with the treats is the perfect spot to jot down a few words of encouragement, too.

I just adore this fun Splash collection! Perfect for the beach and summertime, but works for way more projects than that. After all, back to school likes to be bright and happy, too.
