Sending Sunshine with Therm O Web

Happy Thursday, crafty friends! There’s nothing like pulling a bit of happy mail out of the post box, and with the current situation of quarantine and COVID 19, this holds true even more so than ever. So today I am sharing a festive and happy card that is sure to brighten up anyone’s day and fill a mailbox full of sunshine.

I made this card for Therm O Web this past week, and it features two of the GinaK Designs stamp sets along with the soft velvety texture of iCraft Deco Foil Flock transfer sheets. I love all the different ways that the flock sheets can be used and how they add a different visual element to a design. I used the flock as-is here, but also die cut and stamped on it, too. I’ve got the complete step-by-step tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Sending lots of sunshine your way, friends! Be well!

Endless Summer Days with Photo Play Paper

 Happy Friday!

We are down to the last days of battle in the 2016 International Dota 2 championship, and my friends, the competition has been intense. Clear underdogs have risen up to wipe out favored teams, and champions expected to move on have already been sent packing. One thing is clear, with only a few teams remaining, it’s anybody’s ball game. I’m rooting heavily for the last North American team standing, EG, who will battle in the upper bracket finals this afternoon. But truly, any one of these final teams can walk away with the title.
Pretty exciting times for this first time TI viewer.

So far, I’ve managed to impress my boy with my gaming stamina. I don’t think he truly believed that I would stick with it for this long, but I wouldn’t miss this for the world. The time I’ve been able to spend with Pete this summer is absolutely priceless to me. Next week, he’ll be back at school, starting up his senior year in college. So for now, I’m absorbing every moment that I can.

Of course, with the tournament going on, I haven’t spent a single moment in my scrap room this week. But I do have a card to share with you today. A happy summertime card I made recently for Photo Play Paper using their adorable pool-side collection, Summer Daydreams.

AudreyPettit PPP SummerDaydreams SummerDaysCard2
What says summer more than bright blue skies and a pair of flip-flops?  Wish I had a pair of polka dotty flops like these for myself.

AudreyPettit PPP SummerDaydreams SummerDaysCard3
I used the smaller scale prints from the 6×6 paper pad to contrast with the larger chipboard shapes, and layered the papers with nice crisp white to make everything pop. The sentiment was cut from one of the patterned papers. Then a simple twine bow to finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Friends! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Some Serious Summer Fun with Photo Play Paper

Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Wednesday!

Recently I had the great pleasure of creating some projects for Photo Play Paper using their new summer lines. And today I have a bright and happy home decor frame to share, featuring their adorable pool-side collection, Summer Daydreams.

AudreyPettit PPP SummerDaydreams SummerFunFrame
This long skinny desk frame is a favorite of mine, and was an absolute steal at about a dollar at my local junk shop. The dark wood didn’t quite fit my shabby junk style, so I painted and sanded the frame, and now it suits me well. I like it so much, in fact, that I keep swapping out the insides to fit with the holiday or season. And since we are in full-on summer mode these days, I changed out my frame to this happy summer scene.

AudreyPettit PPP SummerDaydreams SummerFunFrame2
Summer Daydreams has the perfect patterned papers for an outdoors garden scene. I placed the sunburst print for sky, and added a fringed border of green grass below. Then a bit of die cuts for the clouds.

I made some teeny tiny poles to hold the clothesline, and snipped apart the flip flop sticker to fit. Some bitty twine bows and sentiment sticker finish my scene.

I have had the absolute joy of having my parents here visiting for the entire month of June. It’s been so wonderful having a full house, but as all things inevitably do end, today they are heading home. I took a little bloggy break on Monday so that I could spend every last moment we had together. And we have had some wonderful moments. By my count, we have managed to

Bake three pies
Build 7 puzzles
Plant 17 new flowers
Play countless games of Dominoes and Yahtzee
and decorate my house for summer

Here’s a peek at my mantel, done up this year in rustic, woodsy style with my stick stars and flag, and lots of earthy browns.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I owe you all some bloggy visits. I’ll be around soon!

Keepin’ it Cool with Photo Play Paper

Happy Wednesday, Crafty Friends!

Ahhhh, chillin’ and keepin’ it cool…. does it get any better?

AudreyPettit PPP SummerDaydreams CoolPopsicleCard2
I love the bright colors in this sweet collection. The hot pink and lime green combo here makes me so happy, and really screams summer. I pulled out lots of pink and green prints to create my pieced background. Then cardstock stickers and chipboard make up my scene. I did a bit of light ink blending behind the images for a little ombre effect. And black enamel dots to finish things off.

Time to Relax with Photo Play Paper

Hello my Crafty Friends! Happy Friday!

Recently I had the great fun and honor of creating some projects for Photo Play Paper using their new summer collections. And today I’m sharing the first of my cards here with you, featuring their adorable pool-side line,
Summer Daydreams.

AudreyPettit PPP SummerDaydreams RelaxCard

Summer Daydreams is so bright and happy, and filled with all sorts of summery fun. I would love to take a ride on a little scooter like this along the beach somewhere. Wouldn’t you?

AudreyPettit PPP SummerDaydreams RelaxCard2
This happy little scene was made with a combination of patterned papers and cardstock stickers from the collection kit. I popped some of the elements up on foam tape for extra dimension and inked the background a nice summery blue. A cloud punch helps create the look of sky.

AudreyPettit PPP SummerDaydreams RelaxCard3
My boy has been home a whole week already, so for us, summer vacation definitely starts now. I’m just missing the scooter. And the sunshine, actually. But I can deal with that!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
