Happy Monday, Crafty Friends!
And happy first day of spring!

Today I have another card to share for the fun new challenge feature over at Photo Play Paper, the Mix and Match Challenge. To play along, simply pull out your Photo Play collection kits, and mix and match them into unique, one-of-a-kind creations, like my card here that combines the bohemian Rhapsody collection with the summer travel line, Boarding Pass.

This month’s contest is open until March 28th. To enter, share your card creation with us on our Facebook page and tag us on IG using the hashtag #audreymarchmixandmatch for a chance to win a collection pack of your choice. Hope you join in on the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I think we made a final college decision, which is very exciting here in our house. And I’ve been working away on some new additions for my shop, and think I’m finally ready for the grand opening of my spring shop. Be sure to check out my AudOnes Prims Facebook page throughout the week for sneak peek previews and all the details.

A DIY Twine Easter

Happy Friday!

I don’t know how things are where you live, but I’ve got a serious case of spring fever. This week has turned so pretty here. The weather has been in the 70’s all week. And the cherry trees that line many of our streets are in full bloom. I am so ready, my friends! Ready for warmth and sunshine and flowers. So when my crafty buddies suggested trying out some spring crafts this past week, well……..I was all about that.

I love twine. I know that sounds silly to say, but I really do. I dig the natural, rustic look to it, and I think it looks good with just about anything I want to mix it with. And hey, I love brown, so what can I say?

My friend, Paige, came across an adorable twine-wrapped bunny on Pinterest, and we were instantly inspired. I’m always a little intimidated by making my own animal forms, but we happily set about wading and twisting up newspaper and masking tape to create our own silly bunny shapes. And then we went to town wrapping up the twine.

Wrapping that entire bunny was a true lesson in patience, but I love how it came out. And I have to say, I was kind of hooked. So as soon as I got home, I looked around for something else to wrap in twine.

Eggs would be perfect. I mean, what a fabulous way to upcycle some of those old plastic Easter eggs I still have lying around, right? So I started wrapping…

And wrapping…

And of course that led to some spring decorating. You know how that goes.

Those eggs just look good tucked pretty much anywhere.

And that’s when it hit me….

Cards From the Scrap Pile- Buds & Blossoms

Happy Friday, Friends! I have another card to share from what I’m calling my “cards from the scrap pile” series. Today I’m kicking it all the way back to 2003 with a Stampin’Up set called Buds & Blossoms.

AudreyPettit Buds&BlossomsThanks
I tried to give this bold and retro style floral set a bit of a softer look with Distress watercoloring. I did some ink smooshing using an acrylic block for the background, and then stamped the vines in a darker color of Distress. The flowers were stamped separately using the rock n’ roll method and then fussy cut out. I went over the flowers and vines with a wet paintbrush to soften and blend the lines.

The sentiment is from another old Stampin’Up set, and the bottom panel is one of my beloved and rarely used Hero Arts background stamps called Herbs & Honey Star Background. Then some super old sequins and trim from my stash.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’m looking forward to Monday, opening day of my new Spring Shop! Can’t wait to share with you all my new shabby sweet prims for Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, and spring! Here’s a little peek of what’s to come….
