Winter Wonderland Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Webster’s Pages Winter Wonderland Blog Hop. We are SO excited to have you join us as we celebrate the holidays with the official launch of our brand new Webster’s Pages/Unity Stamps Holiday Stamp Collection!

If you are joining me from inspireME, I am so happy to see you here. If not, you might want to start here so as not to miss a single detail of all the fun we have in store for you.

To say that I was beyond thrilled when I heard about our new stamp release is a bit of an understatement. I began my paper-crafting venture years and years ago as a stamper, and to this day, I still love them. And the new Webster’s stamps hold a near and dear spot in my heart. You are going to love working with these. Made out of high quality, etched red rubber, these stamps are sure to become a must have for your growing Webster’s Pages product collection!

I used several images from the holiday sets, along with beautiful papers from the Sweet Season Collection, to make a festive card for design team member Jaz Lee.

I love the colors of the Sweet Season Collection, and used lots of layers of color here to add depth and detail to my design, just perfect for a fun Christmas flair.

A simple cream cardstock base lends a sense of calmness to the color palette, and works well with the lacy paper doily and neutral patterned paper. I love stamping directly on patterned paper as a fun alternative to plain cardstock, like I did here with the framed tree and sentiment. The little bit of pattern adds even more subtle detail to the overall design.

I absolutely love the classic elegance of this framed tree stamp from the Merry Christmas Home set, and used it as the main focal image in my design. I applied two colors of ink directly onto the image using small cat’s eye ink pads, specially designed for ideas like this. Added lots of icy sparkle with ultra-fine crystal clear glitter. I even added some subtle blue snowflakes around the tree using the same set. It’s easy to do by just inking the snowflake portion of the stamp using the small cat’s eye ink pads.

I created the sentiment by cutting out the Merry Christmas greeting from the Christmas Delivery stamp set. I added more glittered detailing and a sweet bow made from our Vintage Inspired Netting and an Olive Bloomer.

I hope you love the new stamps sets as much as I do! Are you interested in winning one? Simply leave me a comment telling me which new set is your favorite, and it could be yours. The winner will be announced Monday, Dec 13th at 6pm PST/9pm EST! at our LIVE CHAT and here on my blog on Tuesday. And don’t forget, each design team member along the hop is offering a free stamp set. That’s 10 chances to win!

Next stop along the hop is Jaz Lee! I can’t wait to see what she has done with the new stamps. I know it will be just amazing. Thanks so much for stopping by everyone.

Banner Bird Meets Home Sweet Home

Good Friday evening everyone! Are you all ready for the start of another weekend? I know I am. Even though we are on full summer mode here, there’s still something magical about the thought of a couple of days with no schedule, no special wake-up time, and no routine. That’s my kind of living! In order to fully enjoy these next few days off, I’ve been super productive today.  I figure that way, I can relax tomorrow.  Sounds good to me! 🙂

I have been a busy little bee in my scrap room, working on some projects that I can’t quite show you yet, but that I’m very excited about.  I can hint and tell you that some of it is for a special event we have coming up for Webster’s Pages. This month, the Webster’s Pages Design Team will be featured guests at the online scrapbook store A Cherry on Top. You can join us on Wednesday, July 14 at 6pmPST/9pmEST as we chat and share loads of inspiring layouts. Shhh, word has it, that there might be a sneak peek to be seen floating about as well! Here’s just a small look at what I’ve been working on.

I do have a fun project to share with you today that I created using two digital stamp images from Digital Doodles. This is Banner Bird meets Home Sweet Home.

I have been loving the kraft cardstock this week! Guess that’s not too surprising considering that brown is my favorite color. I know a lot of people don’t particularly care for it, but brown makes me think of comfort, like a hot cup of coffee or dark chocolate.  It makes me think of trees and the great outdoors and Mother Nature, more of my favorite things. And it also happens to be the color I see when I look into my children’s eyes. 🙂

I printed my Banner Bird onto kraft cardstock and stamped a little welcome greeting on the banner.  I love that this area is blank, making it perfectly adaptable to all kinds of sentiments. I added a small touch of color to the bird using chalk pastels, cut the image out, and adhered it with pop dots over a pair of freehand clouds.

I also printed the Home Sweet Home images onto kraft cardstock. Cut them out and layered them on some of my favorite patterned papers from Jillibean Soup. Kept the design rather monochromatic except for the pops of bright red on the strip of paper and button.  The touch of coloring on the Banner Bird image pulls all the red together.

I hope you all get a chance to stop by the Digital Doodles blog and see the fabulous creations the team came up with this week using other combinations of Digital Doodle images. Once you start combining these little cuties, you’ll quickly see that the possibilities are endless.

Thanks so much for stopping by everyone!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hi everyone!  Hope you all had wonderful weekends.  Mine was great, although over too quickly.  Major events at our house included the opening of my new Etsy store (yippee), and Peter’s birthday celebration with his buddies.  I think I need a few days to recover after that one. There’s nothing like a house full of teenage boys to get the nerves jangled. 😉  I did have a few moments of revenge, though, when I made them all go out on the driveway and jump for some photos.  You should have heard the whining!  One boy was almost incredulous that I asked them to go outside.  Outside, of all things!

But boy, was it worth it.  These photos just crack me up.  Had a hard time catching them in the air with the lag on my camera shutter……….so they had to keep trying over and over.  I’m still sort of snickering now remembering it all.  I wonder what their PE teachers have to put up with.

Oh, my……..I’m still laughing.  Gotta love those goofballs!

Other than the big par-tay, I also opened my new Etsy shop with my good friend, Kathy, on Friday.

I am very excited about the whole process.  Crafting is just tooooooo much fun!  It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it, right? 😉  Here’s a little project I made today to list in the shop.

It’s a little paper-mache box in the shape of a flip-flop that came from the craft store.  It is covered with glitter and October Afternoon papers.  Dressed the top up with a couple of flowers and ribbons, as well.

This was really a different project for me that was super fun to make.  You can find this, and lots of other creations at our shop.  We are also running a kick-off promotion from now until the end of November.  Make any purchase of $10 or more (excluding shipping), and receive a free greeting card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great evening!
