Fall Blessings with Newton’s Nook

Here we go, friends! The last fall project of the season… once again, featuring those adorable Autumn Mice from Newton’s Nook. This time, paired with the fall Mad4Plaid collection by Photo Play Paper.

Tim Holtz Stitched Circle dies and Heffy Doodle Stitched Slopey Joes Border dies were used to cut the focal frame, which was popped onto the card base with foam adhesive for a bit of dimension. Then a simple twine die and a die cut ephemera sentiment finish the design.

I’m going to hate to say goodbye to these cute autumn mice. But fortunately, I have the holiday mice, too! Thanks so much for stopping by, and wishing you all many fall blessings!

Life’s Small Moments with Newton’s Nook

Happy Monday, crafty friends! I’m back today with another card featuring those adorable Autumn Mice from Newton’s Nook. The weather outside, and the calendar page, are telling me that fall is quickly slipping away… but I just can’t resist these sweet critters. And like this little guy, I am definitely trying to savor life’s small moments these days. It’s my birthday week, and I have some fun adventures planned that I am really looking forward to. Not only that, Thanksgiving will soon be here, too, and that means my kids will come home for the holiday. So many happy moments to be thankful for!

I really love this Happy Haunting paper from Simple Stories, and tried to match my Copic coloring to these softer pastel colors. Then added in some bold black and crisp white to make the colors pop. Tim Holtz Stitched Squares dies were used to cut the window opening. And then I made a little hillside with Heffy Doodle Stitched Slopey Joes Border Dies.

I have one more fall project to share later this week, and then I know, I know…. it’s time to move on to the holidays! Hope you all have a wonderful day, and thanks so much for stopping by!

An Extra Mice Fall with Newton’s Nook

Happy Monday, sweet friends! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It has turned very cold here these past few days, and it’s starting to feel like winter is coming early. Waking up to frost on the ground every morning and temperatures down into the 20’s. Having to bundle into winter coats and mittens and hats to go out in the evening. Brrrr, I’m so not ready for that. Think I’m going to cling on to autumn just as long as I can. Including here with my card share for today.

This is once again the adorable Autumn Mice stamp set from Newton’s Nook that I shared in my last post. But instead of tags, today I have a card made with the beautiful fall collection from Photo Play Paper, Mad4Plaid Fall.

Papers are from the 6×6 paper pad. The images were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. I used a Sizzix Stacked Postage die to add some decorative edging to the background panel. And then a few pop dots for dimension on this super sweet and super simple design.

I hope your fall is extra mice this year! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Extra Mice Fall Tags with Therm O Web & Newton’s Nook

Hi friends, hope your November is getting off to a great start! My favorite month of the year is now over, but November is definitely a close second in my book. I still get to enjoy my beloved pumpkins and fall things for a little while longer…. and of course there is Thanksgiving and my birthday to celebrate, too. Speaking of fall, I have a set of harvest tags to share with you today featuring the cutest pair of mice ever that I made recently for the Newton’s Nook collaboration on the Therm O Web blog.

These adorable images are from Newton’s Autumn Mice stamp and die set. They were stamped onto Therm O Web’s Luxury White cardstock and colored with Copics. The glittery polka dots were made with a stencil and one of the limited edition Glitz Glitter Gels. Unfortunately this color is now sold out, and I seriously hope they bring it back.

I used a bunch of our GinaK Designs die sets to create the tags. The sentiment label and tag toppers are made from the Decorative Tag and Decorative Label sets, and I used both stitched circles and squares for the base of the tags. The patterned paper is this year’s Halloween collection from Simple Stories.

I do hope your fall is extra mice this year! Thanks so much for stopping by, and as always, you can find the full step-by-step tutorial for this project on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Have You Been Naughty or Mice?

Happy Monday, crafty friends! Today I have a set of gift tags to share that I made for the recent Newton’s Nook match up on the Therm O Web blog. These adorable critters are from the Naughty or Mice stamp set… but it looks to me like these guys are definitely on Santa’s nice list.

I love making tags for the holidays. I always need a ton, and they make great small gift ideas, too. These fun shaped tags were made by combining two different Therm O Web die sets from the GinaK collection, Large Stitched Circles and the Decorative Labels. By sandwiching one of the small labels between two circles, you end up with tags that look like perfect Christmas ornaments.

I’ve got all the step-by-steps for these tags up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

How’s Christmas prep going at your house? Still madly scurrying around, like I am?

Snow-One Like You with Therm O Web & Newton’s Nook

Happy Friday, friends! Today I’m taking a short break from my scrappy Christmas card series to share a card that I made recently for the Therm O Web blog when we partnered up with the gang at Newton’s Nook. But kind of interestingly… and completely coincidentally, the patterned paper I used here is from those two scrappy kits that I’ve been trying so desperately to use up. Go figure!

I am an absolute sucker for snowmen, and I really couldn’t resist this sweet group of them from Newton’s Nook’s Frozen Fellowship stamp set. Love that these snowman are actually one big image, which I stamped onto Therm O Web heavyweight cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I did some fussy cutting around the top of the image, and popped the panel up for dimension. The sentiment, also from the same set, was embossed with white embossing powder. And then of course there is that pesky patterned paper that seems to multiple when I’m not looking.

I’ve got the tutorial for this project up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

My parents are due to arrive tonight for a nice long holiday visit. And Pete is finishing up the last of his finals today, so I am a happy camper. It’s going to be a great weekend! Hope you all have a fabulous one, too!

Sending Smiles with Newton’s Nook

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday, and happy Spring to you! Today I have a pair of cards to share that I made with the adorable Sending Hugs stamp set by Newton’s Nook and paper from Photoplay Paper’s Gypsy Rose collection.

This past weekend, I got together for crafting and dinner with some old stamping buddies of mine. Each of us designed and brought a project for the group to do, and this was mine. My friends are Stampin’Up peeps, so I knew they’d enjoy playing with something new. And it doesn’t get much cuter than the playful critters in this set, and all their cute accessories, too.

I made one card to bring with the pup and his stack of love letters, and a second there with the bear and his coffee. I know I’d smile if someone brought me all those cups! The images were stamped onto Bristol smooth cardstock and die cut with the matching dies. My friends really enjoyed trying out watercoloring with the Zig clean color markers. The design is based off a sketch from PageMaps. I printed out the January CardMaps, and am hoping to work my way through them.

Here is the fun sketch I used. How did I do?

Thanks so much for stopping by today! It’s actually snowing right now in my neck of the woods, so it certainly doesn’t feel very springlike on this second day of the season. Hope there’s sunny skies ahead for you.
