Happy Monday, Friends! We’re on the home stretch now. Just a few days left until Christmas. I don’t know about you all, but it’s usually at about this point in the game where I tend to make peace with what I have and have not accomplished on my holiday list. I mean, there just comes a time when there simply isn’t enough time left, and that is my excuse to finally stop. So whereas last week was crazy town…. this week, all is calm. I hope you are finding the peace and joy in the season, too.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry MerryMerryOrnament2

I like to keep my eye out for any kind of surface or shape that would be suitable to alter, and recently I discovered this wood veneer ornament shape in the seasonal section of my local big box craft store. Love how it looks now, decorated with BasicGrey Juniper Berry papers and embellies. Makes a great project to gift or to keep, and looks good as a stand-alone decoration, or as an ornament on the tree. And better yet, it’s quick and easy enough to whip out, even at the very last minute.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry MerryMerryOrnament3I used several layers of my favorite Juniper Berry papers to cover the base shape, and then decorated it with additional strips of paper, cardstock stickers and die cuts. I added a Juniper Berry round chalkboard tag to the very center, with bells tied to the string. Sequins from the Embellishment Pack add sparkle. And because I always like a rustic touch, I made a hanger from a stick and some old funky junk wire to balance things out.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a very wonderful day!

Santa Baby with BasicGrey

Hello Friends, and happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I feel like I finally made some progress on my holiday preparations these past few days, so it was a good and productive weekend here at my house. My tree is finished. Most of the decorations are up. Got my Christmas cards in the mail. And even did a bit of shopping and wrapping. I still have much to do…. but I think I made a serious dent. Just in time for my parents arrival in two days. Talk about cutting it close!

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry SantaBabyOn Friday, I shared a holiday card I made for BasicGrey, mixing their adorable Juniper Berry collection with the new Typeset line. And today I have another mix-up card to share.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry SantaBaby2My second design is a petite 3.5″ x 5″ card that showcases lots of pretty patterned papers from both collections along with a fun way to utilize some of those Juniper Berry Mixed Tags.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry SantaBaby3I finished this card off with stitching and a few festive sequins for added detail. Really a fun mix of patterns and embellishments, in a design that’s easily replicated by simply switching out the papers. And this has the added benefit of being postal friendly, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Tell me….

How are you doing on holiday preparations at your house?

Cozy & Warm with BasicGrey

Hello my Friends and happy Friday! I have another holiday card to share today.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry HappyHolidaysI love trying to stretch my scrapbooking supplies by combining different paper lines. Especially mixing themed or holiday collections in with the non…. and that’s just what I’ve done here with this bright little polka-dotty card, made from a combo of BasicGrey’s Christmas collection, Juniper Berry, along with the brand new Typeset line.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry HappyHolidays2I love how well these two lines work with each other.  Perfect color matches, with lots of bold black to tie everything together. I combined papers from both lines, and then brought in my holiday theme with a journaling card and a couple of Juniper Berry stickers.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry HappyHolidays3The sentiment is a combo of epoxy letter stickers and a woodie veneer shape, both from Typeset. The wood has been lightly inked to match my papers. Really looks like everything belongs together, doesn’t it?

I’ve got a second combo platter card up on the BasicGrey blog, if you’d like to see more. Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

So Jolly Snowman Frame with BasicGrey

Hello Friends and happy Wednesday! I am a very jovial mamma today! Mr. Pete finished his finals on Monday, and is back home with me for a few days. It’s just a quick visit before the kiddos are off on their next adventure….. but for today, I’ve got a full house and a very full heart! ❤

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry JollySnowmanFrameToday I have a holiday project to share that’s a great home decor or gift idea. It’s a cutie pie snowman frame made from styrofoam balls and BasicGrey’s adorable Juniper Berry collection.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry JollySnowmanFrame4This snowman just makes me smile, and best thing is he’s really easy to make. The body is just two styrofoam balls that have been cut in half, and hot glued to the backing of an old recycled frame. I dabbed a bit of white paint on the snowman and sprinkled him with diamond dust for some icy shimmer. And then gave him some rosy cheeks to match.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry JollySnowmanFrame2I used a pretty blue and white patterned paper for the background of the frame. Love how it looks like snow is falling. And then I added a silly hat and scarf to my snowman, as well as sequin facial features and buttons.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry JollySnowmanFrame3A couple of Juniper Berry die cuts attached to a stick makes for a quick and easy, rustic signpost. And part of a wooden toothpick becomes the perfect carrot nose. The arms are from the Wood Die Cuts pack…. a pair of deer antlers that have been given a bit of a trim with a quick snip of a scissors.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Peace, Love, & Joy with BasicGrey

Hello Friends and happy Wednesday! Today I have a holiday card to share, made with BasicGrey’s adorable Juniper Berry collection.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry PeaceLoveJoyCardJust a fun and simple card, mixing lots of happy patterned papers, in a slightly retro color scheme of red and turquoise. I added some vellum ornaments from the die cut pack, and threaded them with shiny gold twine. A die cut sentiment, and a bit of foam adhesive for dimension. Quick and easy and best part is, this one is nice and flat for mailing.

Christmas in July Week- FaLaLa with Basicgrey

Hi everyone and happy Friday! It’s been a fun week for me, sharing Christmas in July projects with you. I’ve hope you’ve enjoyed it, too! Goodness knows I’m not usually organized enough to start my Christmas cards so early, but this week I’ve sort of challenged myself with a theme week here on the blog. And I’ve been loving getting a jump start on the holidays! Today, I have one last Christmas card to share, once again using BasicGrey’s fun new Juniper Berry collection.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry FaLaLaCard
For this card, I wanted to really focus on the uhhhhdorable animal print on the 12×12 Reindeer Games patterned paper. So cute, isn’t it? This sheet of paper is filled with the sweetest little woodland scenes, and although it works great as a background paper, I thought it would be fun to frame some of the woodland animals as the focal point of my card.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry FaLaLaCard2
Adding a Juniper Berry die cut frame over the patterned paper is such an easy way to highlight keys areas of the design. I pulled out colors from the focal paper to repeat on the rest of the card, and then accented with a few stickers and die cuts. The focal panel is popped up with foam tape for extra depth and dimension.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry FaLaLaCard3
The baker’s twine and gold-striped washi tape are from the new Embellishment Pack. Such a fun pack filled with twine, thread, washi tape, jingle bells, and sequins.

I’m getting together with the girls this weekend for a bit of crafty fun. I’m thinking I might try to knock out more Christmas cards, since I’m on a roll. Need to keep the momentum going while I can! Thanks so much for stopping by. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Christmas in July Week- Wonderland with BasicGrey

Hello Friends, happy Wednesday! I’m back today with another Christmas in July card, made with BasicGrey’s new Juniper Berry collection.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry DoNotOpenCardThis fun card features a couple of my favorites from the Juniper Berry line… one of the 3×4 journaling cards, which I used here for the sentiment, and that adorable gilded wood die cut squirrel. Yes, that’s right. There are gilded wooden die cuts in Juniper Berry, filled with all sorts of woodland animals, and they are so, so cute.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry DoNotOpenCard2The gold twine is from the new Embellishment Pack that contains coordinating jingle bells, washi tape, sequins and twine. And there are vellum die cuts in the collection, too.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry DoNotOpenCard3I love this red and blue combo for the holidays. Perfect for Christmas, and works great for winter scenes, as well. Lots of versatility to this collection.

So…..

That’s two Christmas cards for me this year. I’m on a roll! Haha

Christmas in July Week- Dear Santa with BasicGrey

JBY_blog_header

Hi everyone, and happy Monday! It’s the last week of July already, can you all believe that? just  enough time, if I hurry, to squeeze in some Christmas in July projects before the month is over.

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry DearSantaCardThis is BasicGrey’s new holiday collection for 2015, Juniper Berry. Such a super fun line in a mix of traditional holiday colors and prints with a bit of natural woodland kraft thrown in, too. I love it when a collection offers as much versatility as this one does.  And seriously… how can one resist that adorable penguin in a sweater?

AudreyPettit BG JuniperBerry DearSantaCard2

How about you guys? Anyone started on their holiday projects for the year?
