2021 Christmas Card Project- Week 5

Happy Friday, crafty friends! As I mentioned in a previous post, from now until December I am on a mission to make at least one holiday card a week during a crafty Zoom session with my friend, Kathie. It’s one way to stay connected to friends and family during these quarantine days, and a great way to build up my stash of cards for the year at the same time. I am calling this my 2021 Christmas Card Project, and each week I hope to share my progress with you.

For week 5, I made a winter-inspired shaker card using the adorable Winter Memories collection by PhotoPlay Paper and Deco Foil printed Toner sheets from Therm O Web.

Therm O Web Toner Sheets make the most perfect shaker windows, and they come in many different patterns and designs. For this card, I used a print that reminded me of falling snow, and used Opal Deco Foil transfer sheets to keep with a snowy feel. The sequin and bead mix is from Sizzix.

I love the sweet critters in this paper collection. One more holiday card to add to my stash!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy weekend, everyone!

Happy Monday, crafty friends! It’s release day again at Therm O Web, and we are celebrating with another blog hop on Instagram. This time, the hop showcases the new Unity toner card fronts in winter and holiday designs. Hop along with us for lots of project ideas and inspiration, and fabulous prize giveaways, too. Keep reading for all the details!

Here’s a peek at the projects I made for today’s Instagram hop. This card and tag set feature the new Flurry Forest Toner Card Fronts. Both designs are foiled with some of Therm O Web’s awesome iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Sheets to create the beautiful shiny finish that you see here. I used two different techniques with the card fronts, though, to show you their versatility. The toner printing on the cards is designed for heat-transfer foiling, but these sheets can also be inked, colored, or cut out… like I’ve done here.

For more information on today’s hop, be sure to visit @unitystampco and @thermoweb on Instagram for all the details. Don’t forget to leave comments along the hop for your chance to win 5 $25 Gift Cards from Unity and a $50 Gift Card from ThermOWeb (there’s a bonus chance on the Therm O Web blog!) Look for winners to be announced on Unity & ThermOWeb’s Instagrams and on the ThermOWeb blog.

Happy hopping! And thanks so much for stopping by!

Dreams do Come True with Therm O Web

Happy Friday, crafty friends! This week, we have fun new products to celebrate at Therm O Web with the release of a line of five fairytale-inspired shimmery colors of iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Sheets.

Today I am sharing a set of cards on the Therm O Web blog featuring two of the new fairytale-inspired colors of iCraft Deco Foil, Prince Periwinkle and Glass Slipper.

The paper collection I’ve used is an older one from PhotoPlay Paper but talk about a fabulous color match for the new foils, and how perfect for our theme this week. I have combined papers, stickers, and cut-apart journaling cards with my current favorite polka dot stencil to create fun and whimsical party cards with amazing foiled backgrounds.

The iridescent shine of these new foil colors is amazing, and I love how they change colors depending on how the light hits them. Almost magical, wouldn’t you say?

I used the new Transfer Gel Duo to apply the foil, and the great thing about this new formulation is that it can be used with or without heat to transfer. If you’d like to learn more, I’ve got all the details and step-by-step instructions up on the Therm O Web blog today.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Season’s Greetings

Christmoose and I just wanted to pop in to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! May this holiday season bring you many blessings, happy memories, and treasured moments with those you hold dear.
And I hope Santa is good to you, too!

The big day is almost here, and time has come to put away Christmas until next year…. but not until I squeeze in one last holiday project for today that I made recently for Joy Clair week on the Therm O Web blog. This is the adorable Christmoose stamp set paired with Therm O Web red deco foil and clear toner acetate sheets to make a holiday shaker gift tag.

I used a sentiment from the stamp set to create a sign post greeting for the tag, and the same sentiment was stamped repeatedly around the tag frame, too. Chris, here, was colored with Copic markers, and fussy cut. I added a bit of Glossy Accents to eyes and crystal clear Stickles to hat and snowbank. The red striped shaker window was made with one of Therm O Web’s clear acetate sheets that was foiled in bright holiday red. I’ve got the full step-by-step tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Merry Christmas!!

Christmoose with Therm O Web & Joy Clair

It’s Joy Clair week on the Therm O Web blog! Throughout the week, both teams have put together lots of fun project ideas and tutorials featuring Joy Clair stamps and Therm O Web adhesive, deco foil, dies, and more.

When my kids were little, we had a “Christmoose” stuffed toy that would come out every Christmas with the decorations, so I absolutely couldn’t resist this adorable Christmoose stamp set from Joy Clair. I have mixed this silly moose with one of our cool new stencils, to create a sweet holiday card with a woodland theme. Looks to me like this guy is just leaving Santa’s workshop.

I love a color combo of kraft, red, and white for the holidays, so pulled out these favorite ink and paper colors from Therm O Web and GinaK to create my scene. The moose and greenery were colored with Copic markers, fussy cut, and decked out in Stickles and Wink of Stella glitter shine. I used just a partial image of the trees for the bushes in the foreground, and stamped the full image on the background for the forest behind.

I’ve got all the how-to’s for this card, as well as a shaker tag project featuring this stamp set and our new acetate toner sheets and deco foil, over on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more. Be sure to enter our prize drawing (HERE) for a chance to win a $25 gift card to the Therm O Web store. And then pop over to the Joy Clair blog to check out their projects and leave a comment (HERE) for a chance at a second prize. Good luck everyone!

Good Friends with Therm O Web

Happy Wednesday, Good Friends! Hope your week is going well. I thought perhaps that we had finally hit spring here in my neck of the woods, but she seems to be hiding again. It’s grey and gloomy once again, and I am so ready for real spring to arrive. So I thought I’d pretend a bit today with a bright and cheery spring flower card that I made this week for the Therm O Web blog.

For something a bit different than my norm, I went with an interactive card design made of a pocket and an insert. Love that extra little surprise the recipient will find when they pull on the cloud tab. And the belly band slips off, and is re-usable, too.

There’s something about this Waffle Flower Bear & Bird stamp set that always makes me smile. This time, I gave the bear a snow cone to hold that was fussy cut from my patterned papers, and created a little outdoor picnic scene for these good friends to enjoy.

I put together a matching insert using coordinating papers from the Simple Stories Summer Days kit. A fussy cut cloud added to the top of the card acts as the pull tab. Therm O Web GinaK Designs dies were used to frame the sentiment and the belly band scene. And of course I used some deco foil to accent that cool GinaK Foil-Mates greeting.

I always love a good side view of deco foil to really show off it’s beautiful shine. I used three colors of foil here that were a great match to my papers, and it’s really easy to do. I’ve got a tutorial for that, as well as complete instructions for creating this pocket design, up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Thanks & Best Wishes with Therm O Web

Happy Fri-YAY, friends! Today is my day up on the Therm O Web blog, where I’m sharing a pair of cards I made for Creativations (CHA) with the new designer stencils and new colors of deco foil. And I wanted to share my cards with you all here, too.

I used the beautiful Tim Holtz Stamper’s Anonymous Flutter stamp set and some stitched circle dies for the focal panels, and layered them with simple patterned paper and sentiment strips. The graphic backgrounds were made with a bit of masking and inking, followed by deco foil stenciling to create the cool metallic pattern on top.

I always love a good side view of the deco foil. Really shows off its amazing texture and shine. I used my two favorite new colors of deco foil for these cards- denim and jade. And two of the new stencils in the Starburst and Pinwheel designs.

I’ve got the complete step-by-step tutorial for today’s cards up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Sending Hugs with Therm O Web & Newton’s Nook

Image may contain: text

We’re having some fun on the Therm O Web blog this week. The team has joined up with our friends at Newton’s Nook to share a week of project inspiration ideas mixing Therm O Web’s deco foil line with Newton’s adorable stamps and dies.

I am up on the Therm O Web blog today with several mix-up cards, and I thought I would share the first of them here with you, too. This bright and happy birthday card features new iCraft Deco Foil designer stencils and one of my favorite new colors of deco foil, denim. The stamps and dies are the super cute Sending Hugs set from Newton’s Nook.

Therm O Web released a handful of new stencils at the Creativations show in January, and I played around with two of them to create the layered background here. The bottom layer stencil was inked. And the top layer was foiled using transfer gel and new denim foil. Gives a bit of a psychedelic look doesn’t it? Like sparklers or fireworks. Fitting for a little birthday celebration.

I always love a side view of a deco foil design. It really helps to show its beautiful textured metallic shine. I added in layers of crisp white cardstock to ground the patterned papers. The images were colored with Zig markers, die cut, and placed in a simple frame. A light watercolor wash of Distress ink was added to the back of the frame for contrast, and a single cross-stitched X at the top of the frame pulls in the colors from the patterned papers.

Pop by the Therm O Web blog for a full tutorial on this stenciled and foiled background, if you’d like to learn more. And be sure to check out all the blog posts on the Therm O Web blog and the Newton’s Nook blog this week, and leave comments for a chance to win some fabulous prizes. The more comments you leave throughout the week, the more chances of winning.

Good luck, friends! And thanks so much for stopping by!

Where Flowers Bloom with Therm O Web

Happy Monday, friends! Thanks for stopping by!

Today I have a card to share that I made for the Therm O Web booth at the Creativations (CHA) 2018 show. You all may remember that I had mentioned new and innovative products coming soon to the deco foil line-up, and today I am excited to share some of these new goodies with you. Including stamps that you can ink and foil, like these pretties here, from the new Stampn’Foil Where Flowers Bloom collection.

To launch this new line-up of products, Therm O Web is releasing three different Stampn’Foil sets. There’s butterflies, and birthday cakes, and this beautiful set of flowers. What’s very cool about these products is that you can use the stamps on their own, and simply ink them up like any regular stamp. Or, you can use them in conjunction with the coordinating toner Details Sheets, and add foil to your stamped images. Or use a combination of all of the above, like I’ve done here.

Included in the new Stampn’Foil collection are dies for easy cutting. And of course there are new colors of Deco Foil, including this sparkly Dazzling Orange color. And there are new background Foil-Mates designs, too, like the pretty vine pattern here.

I’ve got the complete step-by-step tutorial for this project up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Happy Day with Therm O Web

Hi Friends, happy Monday! Today I have a quick and easy card to share featuring some mixed media fun with Therm O Web deco foil. I don’t know how things are in your neck of the woods, but I have definitely been feeling the winter funk with all these grey days we’ve been having lately. So thought I would turn to some bright and happy papers for my inspiration, and experiment with a fun and funky foiled background made with a favorite stencil and gorgeous Antique Pearl Transfer Foil sheets from Therm O Web. Absolutely love the bright and girly look of hot pink mixed with the elegant touches of gold. And check out the fabulous texture on that foiled background.

The shiny look of foil continues to be very trendy in the papercrafting community these days, and I am excited to say that Therm O Web has just extended their deco foil line to include even more foil colors and patterned foil, too, and lots of innovative new ways to use them. Can’t wait to share with you the new stamp and foil stamp sets that were released at the Creativation show, and are coming soon.

For this card, I created the textured foil panel you see here with Deco Foil transfer gel applied through a stencil.  This process does require a heat laminator, but it is sooo easy to do. And works with virtually any stencil in your crafty stash. I used a cool webbing stencil from the Crafter’s Workshop for my design. And the paper is from Photo Play Paper’s adorable Bloom collection. I’ve got the complete step-by-step tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope your week is off to a great start!
