Joy to the World with Therm O Web

Happy Wednesday, Crafty Friends!

Thank you so much for the sweet comments on the start of my annual Halloween Haunted House Tour! You all know that this is my favorite time of year, when the holidays begin. But it’s also a crazy time of year, too, as the days just seem to pick up speed from here on out. It will be Christmas before we know it. With that said, I’m switching holidays again today, and am sharing a Christmas card. Made for the Therm O Web blog featuring fun ways to use their iCraft adhesive tapes.

audreypettit-thermoweb-joytotheworldcardI love the look of glitter on paper projects, especially ones for the holiday. But ugh, glitter… It just gets everywhere. And sometimes seems to stick on everything except your project. I’ve found a pretty good trick for adhering loose glitter, though….   Therm O Web’s iCraft adhesives.

audreypettit-thermoweb-joytotheworldcard2That double-sided adhesive is strong enough to hold any loose glitter firmly in place, and can be cut, punched, or die cut any way you wish. I made a layered glittered banner strip for my sentiment here, and accented with punched glittered stars. Love how they bring a touch of glam to my otherwise rustic design.

audreypettit-thermoweb-joytotheworldcard3The tape is available in all sorts of widths, and even full sheets, too. I’ve got a tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a very happy day!

CHA 2016- Imagine with Therm O Web

Hello Sweeties! Happy Wednesday! I know it is taking forever, but I am still slowly working my way through CHA projects. And today I wanted to share a tag I made for Therm O Web featuring lots and lots of pretty Deco Foils.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil ImagineTag
After CHA this year, there are now 26 colors of foil to play with, and with the new glue pen there are more ways than ever to add foil to your projects.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil ImagineTag3

The new pen makes it so easy to add little touches of foil, like on these leaf tips and along the edge of the tag. Or you could add a big splash of color with hand-doodles or even your own hand-writing. Simply draw, cover with foils, and run through your laminator or through the cutting pads on your die cutting machine.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil ImagineTag4I added some stamping, die cuts, and trim, a few acorns from my yard. And finished with a wide swatch of Lime, Green, and Turquoise foils going up the right side, applied in my favorite grungy fashion of using the liquid adhesive with a paintbrush. Always love the patchy, striated look you get.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Matchbook Notecards with Sizzix

We are having such a lovely, leisurely start to the day here. School is closed. Mother Nature has graced us with something we don’t see too often in these parts.

photo(4)Yes…it’s just a tiny little bit of snow. Just a thin white blanket. Enough to be pretty and enough to play with, and enough to mess up the roads for the school buses leaving their lots at 4 am. Our little Southern state has only bags of salt to arm ourselves with against foul weather, not the equipment and plows of our Northern neighbors. And so we cancel school at the first tiny flake. And then we sit home and stare out the windows.

Fortunately I was able to make it out yesterday to stock up on bread.

snowtobreadindexSo we should be able to ride out the storm in relative comfort! Haha

Audrey Pettit Sizzix MatchbookNotecards

I’ve been working on my thank you cards lately. Seems I always need so many of those right after the holidays. This year, I really wanted to do something unique and special with my thank you notes to show my friends and family how much I appreciate everything they do for me. With just a few of my favorite Sizzix dies, and a fun matchbook-fold technique, I came up with some really cute little note cards that I’m excited to share with you all!

Audrey Pettit Sizzix MatchbookNotecards2

Aren’t they fun? I love the simple matchbook style fold to these, and love that they fold flat enough for mailing and stay closed until you open them without need of adhesive to hold them shut. Better yet, they are a bit different than your regular note card, and look kinda fancy, but are actually very easy to create.

Here’s my stack of note cards all closed up. But unfold the front flap, and you have a perfect little spot for notes and greetings.

Audrey Pettit Sizzix MatchbookNotecards3I am such a sucker for that sweet little snowman. Think he adds a touch of unexpected whimsy and fun.

Audrey Pettit Sizzix MatchbookNotecards4

I’ve got the complete step-by-step tutorial for creating these cards up on the Sizzix blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Audrey Pettit Sizzix MatchbookNotecards5Thanks so much for stopping by, my friends! I’ll be back tomorrow with an extra post this week, a little guest designer post for Top Dog Dies…hope to see you all again then!

Footloose and Fancy Free with Therm O Web

Finishing out a fabulous week of blog hop inspiration projects with Authentique and Therm O Web. I have a fun end-of-the-school-year project to share with you today featuring Authentique’s gorgeous Renew collection. Perfect for that special graduate in your life.

The end of the year will be here before we know it, and with Mr. Pete being a senior, seems like I’ve got graduation on the brain. It hit me that the die cut sentiments from the Renew collection totally fit for a young person about to enter their next stage in life. After all, who is more footloose and fancy free than a brand new graduate?

AudreyPettitThermOWebFootlooseSet4I love that Authentique’s Titles & Phrases die cuts are the perfect size for Project life inserts, or make a great focal point piece, such as on my card. By framing the die cut and creating depth with foam adhesive, a simple journaling card can really take center stage.

AudreyPettitThermOWebFootlooseSet3The frame itself was die cut from Therm O Web’s iCraft Adhesive Sheets and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The finish is wonderfully shabby and crackled, enhanced even more with a bit of ink. I have the full directions up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’re interested in taking a peek.

I made a matching gift bag using a single sheet of 12×12 paper and a few simple folds. I used some different patterns for interest, but pulled it all together with coordinating trims and accents.

There’s nothing but blue skies from now on!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this week long inspiration from Authentique and Therm O Web. Both blogs are filled with fabulous projects, and there are amazing prizes up for grabs, too.

Thanks for stopping by, everyone! Wishing you all a very wonderful weekend!

Winter Weddings

It was shorts and tee-shirt weather here this past weekend, and it seems like everyone was pouring out of the woodwork to enjoy the sunshine. Crissy and I had lots of fun walking in the park and watching all the families out with their kids, riding bikes, throwing balls around, and running through the playground. Sure felt more like spring than winter. And I have to laugh because in the midst of this heatwave, I was putting out my January snowmen and decorating my home for the winter.

This weekend was also, of course, the start of winter CHA out in Anaheim, California. I don’t know about you all, but I was rather hooked to my computer all weekend, trying to catch glimpses of the booths and new goodies through the photos that are being posted. Now that CHA is here, I can start sharing some of the projects I created, like this stack of pressies for the Therm O Web booth.

Happily Ever After Box3

Therm O Web’s theme for CHA is Winter Weddings using black, white, pink, and silver, snowflakes, and lots and lots of glitter. Sounds so romantic and pretty, doesn’t it?
