May Flowers with Photo Play Paper

Hi sweet friends, happy Monday!
And a very happy Memorial Day to those in the States!

With just a few days left in May, it hit me that I had better hurry up and share this altered frame project that I made for Photo Play Paper. This is a mix of their adorable Bloom and Hoppy Easter collections, dressing up an old 5×7 desk frame for the spring season.

This pretty Bloom journaling card is my favorite from the collection, so wanted to use it for the focal point in this home decor. I matted the card on crisp white cardstock, and added a bit of machine stitched detailing around the edge to help it pop, before layering it onto a polka dotty background. I like to remove the glass from my frames so that I can build up the layers without worrying about space. Love the 3D effect you get with just a little bit of foam adhesive. Creates a bit of a shadowbox look, don’t you think?

The frame was originally plain brown wood, which didn’t really fit the design. So I added a quick whitewash of paint, and then adhered thin strips of patterned paper to the thicker edges. White pearl buttons jazz up the corners. All finished off with a simple twine bow.

 P.S.-
I’m kicking off summer here in my shop on Wednesday, May 31st with a nautical-themed mini release. This release is small, but packed with bright summer vibes and the cutest little sea creatures ever! My shop will be open just one week, before it closes for summer vacation, so if you’re interested, be sure to shop early!

Some Bunny Special with Photo Play Paper

Hello, Sweet Friends!
Happy Monday to all of you!

Before the Easter Bunny gets too far away from us, I wanted to share one last Easter-inspired card today that I made for Photo Play Paper using their adorable Hoppy Easter collection and matching clear stamp set.

I had mentioned before how much I love all the cute little Hoppy Easter critters, and this sweet bunny is just another to add to the list. I am so excited that Photo Play has begun adding clear stamps and die sets to their product line. This little guy was stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with Distress Inks, fussy cut, and popped onto the card with foam adhesive for some depth and dimension.

The Some Bunny Special card is from the cut-apart journaling card sheet. Such an easy way to add focal elements to a card design. I added a mix of patterned papers, a twine tie, and a few enamel dots to finish.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend, filled with friends, family, and a few special treats from the Bunny! Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Peeps with Photo Play Paper

Happy Wednesday, Crafty Friends!

With just a few days left until the holiday, I figured I’d better hurry up and share the rest of my Easter projects for the year! Today I have a sweet little bunny card that I made back in January for the Creativation CHA Show using Photo Play Paper’s adorable Hoppy Easter collection.

I am just a sucker for the cute critters in the Hoppy Easter line! One of my favorite things about it is that there are matching stamps and dies that go along with this collection with even more sweet animals to play with. I used the bunny stamp in another card that I will share soon. And for this card, I added a stamped sentiment strip using just one of the fun greetings from the set.

Simple layers, with a bit of foam adhesive between, and a round porthole window made with dies. The bunny is from one of the cut-apart journaling cards. Finished with a bit of shabby ink and a sweet ribbon bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Happy Spring with Photo Play Paper

Hello Crafty Friends, and happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Today I have another fun Photo Play Paper mix and match project to share, combining their two new spring collections, Bloom and Hoppy Easter.

I love the sweet bunnies in the Hoppy Easter line. For this card, I wanted to create a little garden scene for the bunny, complete with grass, flowers, and even some April showers. So perfect for this time of year.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ve got a new shop bunny to share with you next time, and it’s my daughter’s big 19th birthday this week, so lots of fun things in the works here. Hope you all have a wonderful week ahead, too!

Today I thought I’d share the first card with you. A bright and happy polka dotty card featuring a mix of papers from both collections, along with stickers from Hoppy Easter, and a bit of paper weaving, too.

Paper Bag Shamrocks with Therm O Web

Happy Friday, Crafty Friends!

It’s always such a happy feeling when Friday and the start of the weekend rolls around, isn’t it? I’m particularly grateful to get this past week under my belt, and I’m feeling quite lucky. Lucky to be done with the colonoscopy. Lucky for such good results. Lucky to eat again.

So today I’m celebrating with a few lucky clovers. Paper bag pillow clovers made this week for the Therm O Web blog using Therm O Web adhesives and papers from Photo Play Paper’s new spring release.

Creating paper bag pillows is one of my all-time favorite home decor projects. They are really easy to make, and add a festive look to your home for any season or holiday for very little cost. And better yet, this is a great earth-friendly project, utilizing natural elements and recycled materials, too. My kinda project!

I added stitching to my pillows, and dressed them up with layered trims and hand-stamped sentiment flags. But I’ve got lots of tips and tricks, and a full step-by-step tutorial for completing these shamrocks for all you non-sewers out there, up on the Therm O Web blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Creativation 2017- Welcome Spring with Photo Play Paper

Hello, Friends! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

audreypettit-ppp-bloom-hellospringtimecard
It has been the most beautiful weather here lately. I know I’m not alone in saying it’s actually been quite unseasonably warm. Warm enough for t-shirts. Warm enough that all our trees have already bloomed. Warm enough to enjoy a picnic on the beach, which I actually got to do this past week. It truly feels like spring has arrived. So a springtime card seemed fitting for today.

audreypettit-ppp-bloom-hellospringtimecard2
This is another card that I made for the Photo Play Paper booth at the CHA Creativation show this year. It’s a combination of two of their new spring-themed lines, Bloom and Hoppy Easter. I mixed prints from both of the collections, and fussy cut the kites from one of the patterned papers. The sentiment and focal point is made from two of the cut-apart journaling cards, trimmed out and stacked with scalloped borders for extra detail.

I did some partial stamping to add a tail string for the kites, and finished off with a few 28 Lilac Lane sequins. I love these soft colors.

Is it spring in your neighborhood yet? When we came close to hitting 80 degrees here this weekend, that really did it for me. My house is still filled with winter snowmen, and those poor babies are so out of place. I spent most of yesterday starting to pack them away….. and you know how that goes…. bare spots leads to more decorating, which leads to crafting of more things to do more decorating!

I’ve got my front entryway ready for St. Patty’s and a new shabby prim for all you Irish lovers out there. I’ll share those next time. Until then, hope your weeks are off to a great start!
