Hello, Crafty Friends! Happy International Scrapbook Day! Today is a fun day for those of us who love papercrafts, whether it’s preserving precious photos and memories on scrapbook pages, or simply cutting and pasting pretty papers and embellishments together on cards, altered art, or journal pages. Hope you all have a few moments to get crafty today!
Earlier this week I shared one of two cards that I made for the Kindred Stamps collaboration on the Therm O Web blog, and today I’m back with the second. Once again, this is the cute The Great Outdoors stamp set, along with a basket weave background made with Therm O Web’s new iCraft Deco Foil Metallix Gel. This time, I used White Pearl Metallix on kraft cardstock for the reverse look to the fishing card.
I pulled in several elements from the first card to create a matching set, like the puffy white clouds, baker’s twine ties, and patterned paper strips. I made my own patterned paper with the duck image from the set, and for a bit of a different look, I placed the basket weave panel at an angle. The images were colored with Copic markers. Made my first attempt at camo patterning on my little sharp-shooter friend.
I’ve got the full step-by-step tutorial for creating these cards and the Metallix Gel backgrounds up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more. And there’s still time to enter our giveaway drawing for a $25 gift card to the Therm O Web e-store, so be sure to enter the rafflecopter drawing while you are there.
And if you’re looking for some fun and inspiration for International Scrapbook Day today, be sure to stop by the Therm O Web blog for a sketch challenge, ideas, inspiration, and another great giveaway. Details are HERE.
