AudreyPettit MCT LightTheCandles CupcakeCard

I am so excited to have had the opportunity to play along this week, and in honor of this absolutely adorable birthday-themed release, I have one last birthday card to share with you. This is the super cute Light the Candles stamp set and matching dies.

There are sooooo many cute sentiments in this set. It was too hard to chose, so I decided to stack a couple of my favorites to create one long, extended greeting. And then I filled in the background with some XOXO’s for a little extra detail. Love how it ends up looking like my own custom patterned paper.

For my cupcake, I used a combination of stamps and dies from the Light the Candles set, and did a bit of water-coloring and paper piecing, both. I chose colors, of course, from the papers, and pulled in a bit of the gingham from the background for my cupcake frosting. So silly, but so completely sweet!

It’s the Little Things with Prickley Pear

Hi everyone, it’s Audrey, back today with another fun guest designer project for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. This time, a cute spring-inspired card featuring the adorable Scalloped Circle & Oval 4- Floral clear stamp set.

AudreyPettit PPRS LittleThingsCardIt has been a really long winter for so many of us this year, and I’m sure I’m not the only one with a touch of spring fever. This stamp set is perfect for satisfying those spring cravings. Those little ducks definitely put me in the mood for longer days, plenty of sunshine, and lots of fun Easter projects, too.

I created my little tag with Prickley Pear’s Flourish Oval Nesting Die. I die cut the tag once from watercolor paper and a second time from patterned paper, trimming off just the bottom portion and layering it onto the stamped layer. Then a bit of lace trim across the middle and decorative stitching and inking around the edges. The sentiment, from the same set, was trimmed into a banner and added to the center.

AudreyPettit PPRS LittleThingsCard3Adhered the tag with pop dots to my card base, pieced from BasicGrey’s Herbs & Honey and Fresh Cut 6×6 paper pads. I used a large transparency frame from the Herbs & Honey collection just below the tag. Love how the smooth texture plays against all the stitching.

After the beautiful weather we had earlier this week, spring cannot come soon enough! Wish we could just go and flip the switch on Mother Nature….sorry, Momma, but we’ve had enough winter. It’s time for lights out! 😉

When Skies are Grey

BasicGrey | Fresh Cut

Hello friends, and happy Friday to you all! As you read this, I am off in Myrtle Beach, on my annual scrapbooking retreat with the girls. Hopefully I’m working hard and getting a lot done….which means most likely I’m too busy talking, snacking, and carrying on to get any actual scrapping in. But that’s just fine with me!

AudreyPettit BG FreshCut GreySkiesCardI have a card to share with you today that I made with BasicGrey’s adorable Fresh Cut collection, including some of the coordinating Fresh Cut stamps.  I love how the embossed raindrops background add a whole extra layer of detail to my card, without actually adding any extra bulk. I created some fun framework, too, with lots of machine stitching around the edges of the card and paper strips, and colored the outside of the frame with Copic marker for another visual layer. Looks kinda complicated, but really it’s not. Love being sneaky that way!

AudreyPettit BG FreshCut GreySkiesCard2The sentiment is a Fresh Cut stamp, too, stamped, colored, and fussy cut from patterned paper. I added a bit of trim and a chipboard bird. And then a little final framework using a pair of colorful wax seals. I have more details along with a complete supply list up on the BasicGrey blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
