Be Happy with Therm O Web & Brutus Monroe

Brutus Monroe Logo

We’re having some fun on the Therm O Web blog this week, partnering up with our friends at Brutus Monroe. All week long, both blogs are filled with project inspiration featuring Brutus’ stamps and stencils along with Therm O Web’s awesome line-up of products.

I am sharing several mix-it-up projects on the Therm O Web blog, and wanted to share the first of them here with all of you. This card features lots of layers of Therm O Web premium cardstock from the GinaK Designs line. I am just a bit obsessed with this lime Jelly Bean Green color. I used it in the cardstock, and the ink, and even a smidge in the Fancy Foils, too.

The flowers are from Brutus Monroe’s adorable Rose Garden stamp. They were stamped and embossed in white, and watercolored with Zig markers. The sentiment is Brutus, too, as is the pretty tile stencil pattern in the background. Makes me think of a garden lattice filled with climbing flowers. And I don’t know about you… but I’m ready for flowers!

I always love a good side view of deco foil to really show off it’s beautiful shine. I used the foil here with the new acetate toner sheets to create that cool striped pattern on the strip behind the sentiment. And I’ve got the full tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

In honor of our match-up week, we’ve got a fabulous prize for you. Be sure to stop by the Therm O Web blog and get entered in our prize drawing for a $25 Gift Certificate to shop our online store!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Good Friends with Therm O Web

Happy Wednesday, Good Friends! Hope your week is going well. I thought perhaps that we had finally hit spring here in my neck of the woods, but she seems to be hiding again. It’s grey and gloomy once again, and I am so ready for real spring to arrive. So I thought I’d pretend a bit today with a bright and cheery spring flower card that I made this week for the Therm O Web blog.

For something a bit different than my norm, I went with an interactive card design made of a pocket and an insert. Love that extra little surprise the recipient will find when they pull on the cloud tab. And the belly band slips off, and is re-usable, too.

There’s something about this Waffle Flower Bear & Bird stamp set that always makes me smile. This time, I gave the bear a snow cone to hold that was fussy cut from my patterned papers, and created a little outdoor picnic scene for these good friends to enjoy.

I put together a matching insert using coordinating papers from the Simple Stories Summer Days kit. A fussy cut cloud added to the top of the card acts as the pull tab. Therm O Web GinaK Designs dies were used to frame the sentiment and the belly band scene. And of course I used some deco foil to accent that cool GinaK Foil-Mates greeting.

I always love a good side view of deco foil to really show off it’s beautiful shine. I used three colors of foil here that were a great match to my papers, and it’s really easy to do. I’ve got a tutorial for that, as well as complete instructions for creating this pocket design, up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Creativation 2017- The World to Me with Therm O Web

Hi Friends! Happy Friday!

Today I have another Creativation CHA project to share with you. This time, a card and tag set I made for Therm O Web using a brand new product to the deco foil line up, Gel Transfer Medium.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-worldtomeset
If you’ve been following deco foil along the years, you know that there are many different ways to apply the foil sheets, and that foil works great on paper, fabric, and just about any surface under the sun.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-worldtomeset2
Now Therm O Web has come out with yet another way to utilize the foil, and I think this may be my favorite way yet. The new Gel Transfer Medium works somewhat like texture paste, and allows you to add foil using all your favorite stencils. How cool is that?

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-worldtomeset3
Simply apply the Gel Medium to paper using a palette knife and stencil, just like you would a regular texture paste. Allow the gel to dry, cover the pattern with a sheet of foil, and run it through a laminator to set. Works with any stencil, and how cool to find a new way to use supplies you may already have on hand.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-worldtomeset4
I pulled out a couple of my favorite old Hero Arts BasicGrey stencils for my projects. The You & Me Simple Set from Simple Stories, and a few old goodies from BasicGrey.

The new Gel Transfer Medium will be available in March. And in the mean time, you can check out the full tutorial on these projects on the Therm O Web blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Weekend!

Hello Fall with Therm O Web

Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Monday!

It’s not often that I could say I have a CAS card to share, but that’s just what I have today. A very simple card with a simple fall motif. Made some time ago for Therm O Web, featuring their trendy deco foil.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-hellocardThese days, there are over 30 colors and patterns of deco foil to choose from. But my favorite is still one of the original colors, lime. Paired here with touches of gold for a very simple, yet elegant design.

audreypettit-thermoweb-decofoil-hellocard2There are many ways of applying deco foil, but I personally love the striated effect you get using the liquid adhesive with an old paintbrush. Just look at that great texture. I added foil to the bottom of my leaf die cut, and then along the edge of my envelope, too. Followed up with a bit of gold embossing and gold enamel dots. And lots of crisp white on white with a pop of black, for a bold graphic finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a fantastic day!

CHA 2016- Imagine with Therm O Web

Hello Sweeties! Happy Wednesday! I know it is taking forever, but I am still slowly working my way through CHA projects. And today I wanted to share a tag I made for Therm O Web featuring lots and lots of pretty Deco Foils.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil ImagineTag
After CHA this year, there are now 26 colors of foil to play with, and with the new glue pen there are more ways than ever to add foil to your projects.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil ImagineTag3

The new pen makes it so easy to add little touches of foil, like on these leaf tips and along the edge of the tag. Or you could add a big splash of color with hand-doodles or even your own hand-writing. Simply draw, cover with foils, and run through your laminator or through the cutting pads on your die cutting machine.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil ImagineTag4I added some stamping, die cuts, and trim, a few acorns from my yard. And finished with a wide swatch of Lime, Green, and Turquoise foils going up the right side, applied in my favorite grungy fashion of using the liquid adhesive with a paintbrush. Always love the patchy, striated look you get.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil ImagineTag2
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

It’s a Party with Therm O Web Deco Foil

Hello Friends! It’s a new year, and it’s time to party! Perfect excuse to break out some Tim Holtz crazy birds to get the festivities started, right?

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil It'saParty
These crazy birds are really kind of infectious. They never fail to make me smile with their silly little expressions and their “silly things” accessories. This guy is still going strong from New Year’s Eve. I don’t think he’s realized he needs to go back to work today.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil It'saParty2
I figured everyone needs a little sparkle and shine for the New Year, so lots of Therm O Web Deco Foil in gold here. And lots of watercolor fun with Distress Inks.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil It'saParty3
Glossy Accents on the beak and eyes. And gold foil on the pom pom and frame.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil It'saParty4Thanks so much for stopping by! CHA starts in just a few days! Cannot wait to start sharing, but it’s not quite time. Until then, I’m going to take a short break and enjoy these last few days I have with my whole family under one roof…. and nurse this cold I have, too. But I’ll be back soon with lots of fun new projects and products. Enjoy your week, my friends! See you all soon.

Sweet Wishes with Therm O Web

Heeellllo Friends! Today is another busy day here at our house, and another quick post from me. It’s rather amazing how crazy graduation week can be. Who knew there were so many things to do? But we’ve got rehearsal under our belt now and I can finally see that finish line ahead. It won’t be long now!

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil SweetBirthdayWishesToday I have a sweet birthday card to share with you, made with pretty Deco Foils for our special foil feature on the Therm O Web blog this week. Since summer is officially here at our house, it seemed fitting to celebrate with ice cream!

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil SweetBirthdayWishes2This is the beautiful Melon Pink and Pumpkin Deco Foil Transfer Sheets. I absolutely adore this bright and happy color combo, don’t you? So pretty for summer, and just perfect for ice cream. I raided my old 6×6 paper pad stash to find papers to match.  And the adorable ice cream, sweet die cut, and sentiment stamps and dies are all from the May release over at My Creative Time.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil SweetBirthdayWishes3
There are several ways to apply the Deco Foil sheets, but for today’s project I used the white double-sided adhesive foam. I’ve got the full step-by-step tutorial and supply list up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and forgive me if I’m slow to getting around to visit with you. I hope to get caught up SOON!

Crossroads Denim Bunny with Therm O Web & Indygo Junction

Crossroads Denim Tour
Hello, hello! Happy Friday, Friends! This week, I’ve been sharing lots of Easter projects here on the blog. So I thought I would round out the week with yet another fun Easter share. This time, a little fabric project I made for the Therm O Web blog.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb IndygoDenimBunny

This week we are excited to be hopping with our friends at Indygo Junction, sharing projects featuring Therm O Web sewing and adhesive products along with the gorgeous denims from the Crossroads Denim collection by Amy Barickman.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb IndygoDenimBunny4
I am a huge lover of rag dolls, and since spring has finally arrived, I decided now was the perfect time to make a bunny doll using the beautiful denim fabrics from the Crossroads collection.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb IndygoDenimBunny3

I love rag dolls, as there is really no need to worry about patterns or making sure everything is perfect. In my opinion, the more “raggedy” and homemade they look, the better, which works out just fine for me.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb IndygoDenimBunny2I pulled out lots of my favorite bits of hoarded trims to dress up my bunny, and even added a few vintage buckles and findings from my grandmother’s sewing kit. And since Therm O Web now has this amazing line of Deco foils, I added a bit of that, too, to create my own unique custom fabric design. So easy, and so fun! I’ve got a complete step-by-step tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

And by the way… did you all know that March is National Craft & Quilt month? Some of your favorite companies have gathered together to celebrate with tons of amazing prize giveaways, including a special bundle of Therm O Web Deco Foils. This week is GRAND PRIZE WEEK! Be sure to stop by the blog to learn more!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

A Deco Foil Shamrock with Therm O Web

Yesterday I decided it was time to put away all my snowmen and winter decor. It’s kind of a herculean task, and one I don’t really look forward to, but I think we’ve truly turned the corner here in North Carolina. And it’s time. So I spent most of the day packaging up my boxes and tubs, and making about 50 thousand trips up and down the stairs. And now things are looking a little stark and bare in my house.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil WishFrame
Of course I have many, many tubs of spring and Easter to bring out, and that will be the next step. But then I thought that, for a few days at least, I could enjoy some St. Patty’s Day things, if I had any…. so in comes today’s project. A fun little framed shamrock decor made with Therm O Web’s fabulous new Deco Foil and lots of shabby Distress goodness.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil WishFrame2
I have to say, I really am crushing on that shiny green foil. Love the shabby chippy look of it mixed with that washed Distress background. It’s right up my funky junk alley. I used the liquid Deco Glue and a flat paintbrush to get the striated foil application once again. The shamrock was made with Tim Holtz’s fabulous new Sizzix Alterations Heartfelt die. I busted out one of my super old Stampin’Up stamps and a sweet vintage button and twine to add some extra detail.

P1080329
My funky little frame is now gracing the table in my front entryway, along with a few other things I managed to pull together for St. Patrick’s Day. It’s not much, but it does make me smile… I’m hoping it brings a smile to your face, too.

P1080330
I don’t know how you all feel about monster dolls, but we are crazy for them here at my house. The Girls and I have been making quite a few of them lately at our weekly crafty play dates, and of course we had to try our hand at a St. Patty’s version. Here is my guy, all decked out in his finest duds.

P1080332
Don’t you love his top hat and all his fancy finery?

P1080333
I’ve added a few of my other favorite “green” and “lucky” items to complete the scene. A perfect heart-shaped rock I found out on the nature trail one day. Some round “lucky” pebbles I collected from the beach. Nik made me that little chenille froggy when she was wee tiny little.

P1080334
Love having a big basket underneath my table, as it’s the perfect spot for piling up lots and lots of stuff. I’ve got some vintage linen here, and vintage table wear, too. The bright green Majolica plate screams St. Patty’s, without being themed in the least.

P1080335
The paper shamrock is an old, old project of mine, the very first one that I made as a member of the Glue Arts design team. It’s one of my favorite “paper pillow” projects, made from a recycled grocery bag. Ah, happy memories! And last, but not least, here is my wee Nik’s St. Patty’s monster doll. So adorable! She has a great eye for color and pattern, too, and is becoming quite the expert doll maker. I love that she loves to make them as much as I do.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friends! I’ve got a full tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more about my shamrock Deco Foil frame. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Deco Foil Valentine Frame with Therm O Web

iCraft-Foils Color-Shot

Valentine’s week continues here on the blog today with another love-themed project share. This time, it’s a little home decor project I made recently for the 2015 CHA Mega Show using Therm O Web’s fabulous new line of Deco Foils.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil LoveFrameI have to say, this is one of my favorite Deco Foil projects, ever. Wish you could see how shiny and beautiful this foil looks in person. The red is so vibrant….. absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day. Love it paired with bold black and just a light soft wash of pale pink. Makes your eye zoom straight to the hearts here, before taking in the cool background. Just what I wanted.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil LoveFrame2I love how the texture on the hearts turned out. This is the look you can achieve when using the liquid Deco Foil glue with the Deco Foils, and I’ve shared this technique with you before on the pretty Deco Foil gift box I shared here recently on the blog. For this effect, I simply applied some liquid Deco glue onto plain white cardstock, then brushed the glue out using a back and forth motion with a wide, flat paintbrush.

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoil LoveFrame3Once the glue has dried to become completely tacky, it is ready for the foil. I absolutely love how every brush mark shows, creating a unique striae not unlike woodgrain. Once the foil is applied, the piece can be cut, punched, die cut, torn… whatever you wish. I used Tim Holtz’s adorable Love Struck Alterations die here to create my hearts and arrows. I cut slits in the hearts to thread the arrows through, and added tiny hang tags made with a PTI die and my favorite alpha stamps. The shabby background is a work of he{art}, too. I had so much fun making it with my Distress inks and paint, stamps, and torn dictionary paper. I liked how it turned out so much, I recreated the process again on a smaller piece so that I could share a tutorial with you. Click on the link, if you’d like to learn more:
