As part of the fun, each Sizzix designer is sharing three words about ourselves.  Here’s me in a nutshell.

Animal Lover

I am a huge animal lover. My college degree is actually in zoology, and over the years I’ve worked as a park ranger, zookeeper, and vet assistant. I’ve had the opportunity of working with animals from every class- amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Currently, our family includes an adoptive Golden Retriever pup and a wee hedgehog baby.

Ok, I admit it! I’m completely bonkers about Halloween! I decorate my whole house for the holiday. Here’s a peek at my mantel right now.

Unorganized

I am completely, hopelessly unorganized. I’m not afraid of Halloween…..but I am afraid of my scrap studio. I can’t even show it. Disaster.

So now tell us, Who are YOU? We want to know! For more information on the Sizzix Who Are You campaign, please visit our campaign page. And to enter the contest, please go here. Good luck everyone! And thanks for stopping by!

1..2..3

Hello Sweets! How are YOU today? We are good.  Enjoying our last few days of summer break and just hanging out.

I’m in a nesting mood still.  Wanting to clean up this house of mine and get it sparkling, all ready to start the Fall and a new school year with our best foot forward. Yesterday was window washing day.

Starting in the living room, I traveled all across the back of the house, around the corner into the sunroom, and finished up in the kitchen.

I ended up happy but tired, and I can tell you one thing for sure………

Nothing makes the outside of your windows look dirtier than cleaning the inside. 🙂

I wonder what today will bring? I haven’t decided yet.  Will it be polished appliances in the kitchen? Or perhaps some hand-mopped floors?  Maybe some more windows? There are always more windows! Tell me friends…….

What should I do today?

While I’m pondering my next cleaning project, I wanted to share with you all a little challenge contest the Webster’s Pages design team has cooked up for you.

For the month of August, the team has each created one project,  in 3 stages of simple, moderate, and complex design. We wanted to inspire scrappers of all levels, from beginners to experts, and share how easy it is to create beautiful projects using Webster’s Pages products. This is the idea behind our fabulous 1..2..3 contest at inspireME.

Here is a peek at my page.

Yummy Seaside Retreat Collection including patterned papers, 6×6 Petite Paper Pad, Deluxe Journaling Cards, Die-Cut Cardstock Phrase Stickers, and trim package.  I also included some Glittered Sparklers, Scalloped Sparklers, and Vintage Sparklers.

Just follow this link to see all the wonderful projects the team has created and choose ONE to use as inspiration for you. Scraplift your inspiration choice and load it in our gallery. The winner will receive their choice of ONE of our paper collections! Yippee!

So get crafting ladies!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I think I’ve made my cleaning decision. Any guesses?? 🙂

Little Lamb

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday! Here we are, almost to another weekend again already. Time just seems to move oh, so quickly. In a few short days, we are packing up and heading out to California for vacation. I’m so excited to go and am looking forward to seeing friends and family and spending some quality time at home.  There’s no place like home! Now I just have to make sure I check everything off my to-do list here before we leave. Seems like that list just keeps getting longer and longer instead of shorter. 🙂

Today I have a card to share with you that features this week’s Digital Doodles digi-stamp release called Little Lamb. Little lamb is available exclusively through 2peasinabucket, and retails for only 99 cents. What a deal!  And so adorable for a multitude of projects.

I used my Little Lamb to create a baby card to welcome a new little one into this world. How cute does he look with a touch of cotton batting?  Makes me think of the sweet stuffed toys so often seen in nurseries, and was really an easy process to do.  I simply added a touch of liquid glue to the lamb’s head and body and attached small pieces of cotton pulled from a cotton ball.  Instant fluff!

Papers are a combination of Girls’ Paperie and October Afternoon. Also added a polka dotted frame piece from Creative Imaginations IOD and an OA nursery rhyme card. Trim is Spring Green Lattice Lace from Webster’s Pages. I printed the sentiment from my computer.

Hope you take a moment to pop by the Digital Doodles blog and see all the fabulous projects the rest of the team created with this sweet Little Lamb. And anybody interested in a contest?  You could win this!

You can check out all the details here.

Thanks so much for stopping by everyone!  Hope you have a wonderful day!

June Challenge at inspireME

Good morning everyone! Is it just me, or did the long weekend make this week go by extra quickly? I’m loving that it’s Thursday already, though.  That means it’s almost the weekend, and……..we’re down to the last few days of school. What could be better than that?

Today I have a project to share that I made for a special challenge I am hosting this month over at inspireME.

It seems like every time Webster’s comes out with new products, I fall in love all over again. In my book, these are the prettiest papers and embellishments around, and whatever Webster’s products might happened to be mentioned in conversation, I will pipe up that that is my “favorite”.  I just can’t help it! And nothing gets me going more so than Webster’s stunning array of ribbons, trims, and Bloomers.

So with that thought in mind, I used some of my absolute “favorite” Webster’s trims to make a little keepsake box to hold my daughter’s secret treasures.  And my challenge to you, for the month of June, is to create a project showing us how you use Webster’s trims in unique and creative ways.  Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

I altered this tin box with papers and Phrase Stickers from the Life’s Portraits, Lullaby Lane, and Seaside Retreat collections. Added some gorgeous Green Lattice Trim and Fabric Ribbon from Garden Gala.

I created a fun, layered flower using a combination of wet paper strips that I pleated, folded, and stitched into a circular shape, Seaside Retreat Fabric Ribbon that was gathered into a rosette, and a stunning aqua Bloomer.  For a tutorial on making the Fabric rosette, check out Lucy’s great video here.

Now it’s your turn!  I hope you will come and play along with us.  The winner will receive a Webster’s Pages paper collection of their choice.  Head over to the inspireME forum here for full details.

Thanks so much for stopping by everyone!  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Easter Eggs

Hello everyone!  Today is Friday already, and the start to the holiday weekend.  My how time does fly!  We’ve had such a beautiful week here in NC.  The weather has been warm and sunny, just perfect for Spring Break and the long Easter weekend. And to make things even sweeter, my little peanut and I colored some eggs together this morning.  With my kiddos getting older, I wasn’t sure we would carry on this tradition, which makes this day all the more precious.  I am so grateful for days like these.

I have a scrappy share for you today. It’s my card for the Cardalicious blog’s current challenge to make a card using one flower, one tag, and one sticker.

I’ve really been enjoying creating my own flowers, which seems to be all the rage these days. This flower was made with two 12″ strips of patterned paper that I soaked in water and then spiraled into a circular shape, stitching the paper down with my machine as I went along. Work with the paper while it’s still wet, as it is much easier to manipulate than when dry.  The great thing about this process is, if the paper tears on you, just line it back up where you want it and keep stitching.

I also used a wet strip of green paper for the stem and petals, using a random pleated fold for a touch of texture.  Added a fabric sticker for my sentiment, and layered both onto a recycled clothing tag I’ve been hanging onto in my stash for quite some time.

Papers are some of my current favorites….Grandmas Christmas Soup from Jillibean Soup.  And speaking of Jillibean, I had another project “spotted” on their blog this week.  Thank you, thank you, Jillibean! 🙂

I also wanted to tell you all about a giveaway going on at The Shabby Tea Room that you won’t want to miss.  Look at this fabulous prize Debbie has up for offer. Gorgeous, yummy seam-binding tape.

Find out all the details here.

Thanks so much for stopping by everyone!  I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone!

I have a birthday card to share.  A masculine card I made for a dear friend who’s having a birthday today.

Used papers, alpha stickers and a cardstock border sticker from BoBunny’s Flutter Butter line.  Thought the geometric patterns worked perfectly for a masculine card.  Added a little bit of embellishment with a strip of ribbon, twine, and a single button.  Overlaid a rub-on on the alpha stickers for my finished greeting.  Based the card on the current sketch from the CPS blog.

As you all have probably guessed by now, I am a big fan of challenges and sketch sites.  I love being inspired by new ideas and am always ready to try something different at least once.  With that said, I am so excited to hint at some fun news to be announced soon.  If you’re like me, and you love to paper craft and love a new adventure, then stayed tuned!  I can’t wait to share with you my secret news!

I want to send a huge and sincere thank you to those of you who played along with my recent Inspired by Snow challenge.  I love your entries and am thrilled to announce that Patty O’Malley is the winner of my little package of goodies!

Just a few snippets of some of my favorite things…..vintage flowers and lace, shining buttons, bingo cards, die-cuts, and a little Spring tag I put together with my favorite Webster’s and Prima.

Patty, please email me your address and I will get your box out to you. 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by everyone!  You always brighten my day with your sweet comments!
