Tim Holtz & Sizzix 2021 Chapter 1 Release- Harrison

Happy Monday, crafty friends, and happy February! Today I am excited to share another project that I made for the Tim Holtz 2021 Sizzix Chapter 1 release, shared recently on YouTube Live. This is Harrison, another adorable critter just added to the popular Colorize line.

You all know that I’m a sucker for critters, so I truly adore all the sweet Colorize animals, and love that they are scaled to work perfectly together if you want to mix and match them. And now with this release, Tim has added a set of Funky Trees to create background settings for the animals, too.

I had lots of fun combining both new and older sets to make the jungle scene for Harrison to perch in. Of course there are the tall layered trees from the new Funky Trees set. And I used the previously released Media Marks and Circle Play die sets to create the bushes and the sun. Tiny Type letters and the Curio Box banner were used to create the start of the pun sentiment that was carried to the inside of the card.

For a big impact on a big sentiment, the new Alphanumeric Bold alphabet set is just the ticket.

This is a larger card design at 5×7, so you can see how grand these new Colorize and Funky sets can be. Perfect for cards or altered art or home decor. And now one more adorable animal to add to the zoo!

It’s an exciting day for fans of Tim Holtz Distress, because today a new color is revealed! I have no idea what it is, and cannot wait to see. I’m wondering if it’s a red, for the month of love. What do you think? Any guesses from you?

Monday 11/30 Cyber Monday

  • Tim Holtz Day- All Tim Holtz on Sale!
  • Freebie: Ranger Ink Nebula Stickles Glitter Gel

Today’s freebie with purchase is Stickles Glitter Gel, which I used here on this pair of adorable holiday tags. If you love the look of glitter, but hate the mess of loose glitter, then these Stickles Glitter Gels are your answer.

I love the long skinny shape of this tag die from PhotoPlay Paper. Works great on the popular slimline card style, and would make a great bookmark, too. I die cut my tags from the new Ranger Distress Kraft Heavystock paper, and used the Tim Holtz Stars stencil to apply the glitter gel to the background.

The sweet images are from the Papercut Christmas #2 die set from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. They are just so quirky and fun, aren’t they?

The Making Journal- Patchwork Bird

Happy Monday, crafty friends! We’re inching ever closer to Christmas day, and the holiday projects just keep coming. Today I have a sweet little feltie bird ornament to share that I made this past week for the Sizzix UK blog, The Making Journal, featuring the adorable Patchwork bird die from the Sizzix Tim Holtz Chapter 4 release.

This sweet bird die is a Bigz die, which of course means that it is a steel-edge die that is perfect for cutting heavier materials like this wool felt that I used. Just as the name says, I love that this die cuts different layers that piece together into a warm, homespun “patchwork” look on the finished design. I added in hand-stitched embroidery details, and finished off with some paper greenery and a simple twine bow and hanger.

I did a lot of embroidery when I was younger, so this ornament brings back lots of happy memories for me. So funny how nostalgic a Christmas decoration can be.

If you’d like to learn more about today’s project, check out the step-by-step tutorial over at The Making Journal blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Wonderland Ornament Topper with Ranger Ink

Happy Saturday, crafty friends! How are the holiday preparations coming along? My parents arrived for their annual visit on Wednesday evening, and that always marks the true beginning of the Christmas holiday here at my house. The past couple of days have been busy with decorating and shopping. There’s still so much to do, but I’m starting to get a handle on things.

Today I have another holiday project to share, and another one that I like to call a two-fer project because it works both as an ornament or as a gift bag tag topper. I made this sweet wreath with the Deck the Halls Colorize die set from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Chapter 4 release and a pretty holiday color palette blend of Distress Oxide and Ink.

Not only is this ornament perfect for gifting and decorating, it also looks fabulous tied into the bow of any holiday packaging. Once the package has been opened, simply remove the ornament and hang it on your tree for a holiday keepsake that will last for years to come.

I’m happy to share the complete tutorial for this ornament on the Ranger Ink Project Page, if you’d like to learn more.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!
