Valentines at AudOnes Prims

Happy Tuesday, crafty friends! Hope your frosty winter week is getting off to a great start. Can you believe that we are halfway through January, already? It’s time for Valentines, and I’m so happy to share some with you today.

I’ve had so much fun this week crafting up these sweet bowl filler hearts. These are made from some of my favorite quilting fabrics from the Eclectic Elements collection by Tim Holtz. I used four different fabrics from the Wallflower line to piece each of the tops, and I’m so happy with the quilted look that they have. Hand-dyed lace trim was added between two of the sections, and I finished each heart with a tufted vintage mother-of-pearl button.

This is a great project for using up some of those smaller fabric scraps that you might have laying around, and I love how they look piled up in a basket or bowl. Just a fun way to add some cheer at any time of year.

These pieced heart bowl fillers are now available in my AudOnes Prims Shop! (click HERE)!

The October Sideboard & AudOnes Prims Update

Happy Thursday, friends, and happy first of October to you all! I am so excited because today marks the official start to my favorite month of the year…..and seriously, it’s just been such a great day. The weather is glorious here right now, and the leaves are starting to turn color on the trees. Everything is so beautiful. And on top of that, I spent two wonderful hours watching the Tim Holtz Sizzix Chapter 4 Facebook Live this afternoon. Wow, what an amazing amount of inspiration! It’s always such an honor for me to be a part of such a talented group of makers. You all should check it out if you haven’t had the chance yet.

I’ve also put together a new arrangement on my dining sideboard that I am excited to share with you today. Yes, of course, it’s a Halloween display this time, for my favorite holiday. A very fun blend of cuties and spookies, collectibles, vintage transferware and ironstone, and some of my own handmades thrown into the mix.

I have very few transferware pieces in black, but the ones I do have are always the backbone of my Halloween display. Mixed, as per my norm, with vintage ironstone. This year I came up with a rather random combination of some of my favorite Halloween things, instead of focusing on just skeletons or just cats, as I’ve done in the past. And I really do love the whimsical feel.

For some of you kind fans of my prim creations, I’m happy to say that I’ve added a few new items to my AudOnes Prims Shop… like this sweet little Bella the Bat right here.

You all know I have a super soft spot for Lori Mitchell figurines, so of course there must be some of those. Along with a few too cute to spook pumpkin head figures.

Spiders and black cats, ravens and skellies. And you can see a peek of my Halloween cross stitch piece that was my first completed project in the beginning of the year.

Prims from AudOnes past. And a new pumpkin just added to the shop. Everything I have this time around is one-of-a-kind, so if you see anything you are interested in, do go check.

And last, but not least, a new arrangement for the table, too.

I love this time of year! I am an autumn-girl, through and through.

If you’re looking for a few new tricks or treats to add to your fall decorating, be sure to check out the surprises I’ve added to my shop. There’s a little fall and a little Halloween, and a few gathered treasures to share.

2020 Summer Home Tour- Part II Independence Day

Happy Independence Day to the USA!
Hello friends, and happy 4th of July to you! Hope this lovely Saturday finds you doing well. Today I thought we’d pick up again on my 2020 summer home tour, this time making a stop in another patriotic area of the house, the living room.

I have been so lucky to have collected some rather large Americana pieces over the years, and the big expanse of my mantel always seems the perfect location for these. The Bethany Lowe Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty figurines I have are a good two feet tall and I love how they fill in the space of the mantel. This area really needs something tall.

You all know that I’m a sucker for chippy old things and handmade prims, so this silly folk art doll is one of my all-time favorites. Doesn’t get much more quirky than him.

I’ve filled Uncle Sam’s arms with a little wooden painted sign and a pair of stick flags. Uncle Dolly is holding an eagle by Jim Shore. The large canisters look old, but are really brand new. Just love that vintage clip art.

I’ve always adored needlework, and now that I’ve started up cross stitch again this year, these two framed pieces make me a bit weak in the knees. Such a labor of love.

Miss Liberty and another folk art carved wooden Sam. More flags and a stack of paper mache drums.

Oh, hello! Surprise! It’s little Finley Boo. My constant shadow and companion. Now a year and a half old!

I love this vintage basket, and how perfect it is for piling and bundling. In here I have more paper mache boxes and a wooden flag, and more vintage clip art. The blue blanket is my brother’s baby quilt, made by my grandmother many years ago. The raggedy stitching next to the quilt is a patriotic cross stitch piece I started, but never finished, when I was very very young. All that’s left to do is stitch the field of stars on the flag, but the printing has long worn off of the fabric and the little x’s are no longer visible. But somehow, it feels right to me to leave it as I left it all those decades ago.

And of course, more of those adorable little Lori Mitchell characters.

Happy 4th, everyone! Where ever your adventures may take you today, I hope you enjoy the journey!

Feeling Corny with Therm O Web & AudOnes Prims

Hello, friends! Happy Wednesday! Today is a somber day as we remember all those affected by the tragedies of 9/11. We shall never forget this day that changed the history of our country forever. I have just come from dropping my parents off at the airport after a very wonderful three week visit with them, so today is just that little bit extra hard to have them leave and fly on this day.

After being on vacation mode these past several weeks, I’m hoping to play catch up here on my blog with a project post today for both Therm O Web and my little AudOnes Prims shop. It’s been quite some time since I listed anything in my shop, but that is my plan for the next few days, starting with these silly sweet corn on the cob prims that I made over the summer for the Therm O Web blog. These little cuties feature a combo of my favorite fabrics from Crossroads Denim and Blend Fabrics designer Cori Dantini along with Therm O Web Stitchn’Sew fleece.

If you’d like to give these corny corns a try, I’ve got the full step-by-step tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog.

Or, you can find this trio of cobs listed now in my Shop! (And hopefully a few other cuties will be joining them, too)

Enjoy the rest of your week, friends! And happy weekend ahead!

AudOnes Prims Fall 2018 Shop Update

Happy Monday, crafty friends, and happy October to you!  My most favorite month of the year! Time for fall leaves and hay rides and spooks of all kinds. And today, I am so very excited to be able to say, it’s time for the opening of my AudOnes Prims Fall 2018 Shop, too. A bit later than I would have liked. But better late than never!

This year’s shop update is definitely small. More of what I would call a “mini collection”. And you may notice a bit of a theme this fall….

A polka dotty spotty theme in both black and orange, with pumpkins both big and small. Because what’s fall without pumpkin everything, right?

Unfortunately, quantities are quite limited, so if you see anything you like, you might want to pop right over to the shop and check it out.

Spring Preview- Fresh Produce

Hi friends, happy Wednesday! I’m back today with another sneak peek from my new spring shop goodies. These mischievous guys have been caught red-handed out in the garden, filling their pockets full of fresh produce. Naughty bunnies!

Is it spring in your neck of the woods yet? Our temperatures soared into the mid 70’s last week, but we’ve dipped way down into the gloomy chill again. Looks like March will come in like a lion this year. Even so, I’m taking down the winter snowmen this week. Time for bunnies, don’t you think?

If you’re ready for spring things, too, stay tuned for my upcoming shop opening.

We Are Family with Simple Stories

Hello, hello! Happy Friday! Today I have a card to share featuring the adorable new fall collection from Simple Stories, We Are Family.

We Are Family is a bit of a take off of the popular I Am collection from earlier this year. This cute line focuses on all things family, as you can gather from the name of course, with a special emphasis on gratitude and counting your blessings. So perfect for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. But also great, as always, for so much more.

Recently, I made a couple of all-occasion We Are Family cards for the Simple Stories blog, showcasing some other ways you can use this collection.  And today I thought I would share the first one with you here. A sweet little friendship card in a cute 4.5″x4.5″ size.

I’ve got tips and details, along with a second card, up on the Simple Stories blog, if you’d like to learn more.
