Spring Shop Update at AudOnes Prims

Happy Monday, friends! I’ve been working away behind the scenes on some new spring shop goodies, and they are finished, and listed, and I’m so excited today to share them with you!

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you may have already seen a peek at these. And some of you may remember a similar version of this sweet Old Mother Goose from previous years. She was truly one of my most favorite prims, and when I came across this vintage-looking floral fabric, I couldn’t resist making her again.

One thing I did differently with Mother Goose this time is to craft up a floppy burlap nest to go along. The old gal fits perfectly in a basket or bowl, but is a bit wobbly on her feet all on her own. The new nest helps keep her on her toes.

Another pair you might recognize are these adorable folk-art rabbit dolls, Lili and Lala Lapin. I had crafted these for my shop years ago, but I recently uncovered another set that were still in pieces. So I stitched them up, and added a few new embellishments, and think they are just the cutest things.

Lastly, I have some polka dotty egg bowl fillers, done up in a rainbow of bright colors.

These over-sized eggs just make me smile. I am such a sucker for polka dots!

All these items have been listed in my AudOnes Prims Shop, if you are interested. You can click on the link on my sidebar or menu at any time, or simply click HERE. If there’s a certain color of egg you’d like, just leave me a comment below.

Thanks so much, friends! I hope you enjoy!

Happy Easter

Popping in today to wish my friends and family who celebrate, a very happy Easter!
May your house be filled with the blessings of the day, and hope the Easter Bunny brings you a wee bit of chocolate, too!

As you all know by now, it wouldn’t be much of a holiday at my house without a little seasonal decor. So in honor of this special day, here’s a peek at some of my spring things.

The dining room sideboard is once again filled with vintage ironstone and my favorite transferware dishes. This time, the plates are a combo of Johnson Brothers Friendly Village with some no-name pattern that I like to call “My Happy Place”. I think I would transport myself to that sweet farm house in a heartbeat if I could.

Of course I’ve managed to sneak in a few of my handmade things. Chicks in nests and Old Mother Goose, and some twine-wrapped eggs, too.

For my front entryway table, I went for a very simple and natural look.

White and green, bunnies and chickens, and a few nests, too.

A few more handmade cuties are tucked here and there.

My chocolate bunnies and vintage crepe paper eggs. My new Lori Mitchell figurine I managed to score for a song this year. My mom gave me this amazing antique wooden scoop at Christmas, and I love it for creating a little scene.

The wee bunny in the wire basket is a new guy I made this year at one of my weekly crafty play dates with the girls. The mushrooms are another project we tackled this month, too. Our first attempt at spun cotton. Hope to try that again soon.

It’s so hard to believe that Easter is here already. The year just flies by so quickly, don’t you think? Of course now I’m already thinking ahead to the next thing. I should really get started on crafting some summer things. And my sweet little missy Nik’s 20th birthday is this upcoming week. So lots to do, and lots to celebrate.

But before I move too far forward, I have one last spring bunny to share with you. A custom order I’ve been working on. From my little Easter Bunny to yours, wishing you all a very wonderful day!

Fabric Friday- A Fairy House Pillow Tuck

I know many of my paper peeps out there can relate when I say that I have a pretty big stash of paper scraps that I have a hard time throwing away. And just like my mountain of paper scraps, I tend to collect, and keep, and hoard my fabric scraps, too. Because you just never know when that tiny sliver of fabric may come in handy!

You may remember this orange ticking print that I used recently on those shabby fabric carrots in my spring shop. After cutting all of those, I was left with quite a few scraps… too small for anything new, but too pretty to end up in the bin. So I challenged myself to find something to do with them…. and the other ten gazillion scraps I have lying around. And I came up with these. Sweet little fairy house pillow tucks.

I very much enjoy adding stitching to my projects, so I created a small fairy scene from a variety of bright and happy fabric prints, and embellished it with hand-embroidered details. The raw-edged applique gives that lovely frayed shabby look I love so well.

Of course, I barely made a dent in my mountain of fabric scraps, but I was pleased with some of the teensy details I was able to squeeze out of the tiniest of pieces. My clunky fingers could barely hold onto the center of those flowers, but I did it. So I’m calling that a win… even if I still have a ton of scraps to go!

I’ve added both of these pillow tucks to my shop page, and you can find them here if you’d like to take them home. Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a super fabulous weekend!

Spring Preview- Fresh Produce

Hi friends, happy Wednesday! I’m back today with another sneak peek from my new spring shop goodies. These mischievous guys have been caught red-handed out in the garden, filling their pockets full of fresh produce. Naughty bunnies!

Is it spring in your neck of the woods yet? Our temperatures soared into the mid 70’s last week, but we’ve dipped way down into the gloomy chill again. Looks like March will come in like a lion this year. Even so, I’m taking down the winter snowmen this week. Time for bunnies, don’t you think?

If you’re ready for spring things, too, stay tuned for my upcoming shop opening.

Hello Sunshine with 28 Lilac Lane

Hello Friends! A very happy Friday to you!

I am super excited to share my fun project with you today! I have got a sweet and sunny, spring-inspired fabric project today that features some fabulous new embellishments from my friend, May Flaum, at Craft with May. I think I may have mentioned my serious love for buttons once or twice before, right? Well May’s new product line through Buttons Galore & More, called 28 Lilac Lane, is filled with the most gorgeous buttons and notions, in a whole rainbow of color. There’s buttons, of course, and sequins, as well. Beads and pearls, charms and trims, too. All packaged in the most adorable tins and bottles and kits ever.

To me, there’s something nostalgic about buttons. Both of my grandmothers were sewers and quilters, and I can remember being fascinated with their button collections growing up. Although I’m not the sewer that they were, I do love to play with fabric. And I still love buttons to this day. So when May asked if I’d be interested in playing with her 28 Lilac Lane line, I jumped at the chance. Such gorgeous colors, and amazing variety… and a quality that can’t be beat.

Now that spring has truly sprung here in North Carolina, and everything is in bloom, I’ve got flowers on the mind. So I created some sweet and shabby fabric flowers to dress up a few simple cotton pillow tucks. And finished them off with bright yellow buttons from the new Hello Sunshine Embellishment Bottle. A little home accent for spring and summer that can be tucked just about anywhere.

I’ve been having fun experimenting with dying my own fabrics with Distress Inks, which I’ve done here with the flower petals and bows. I thought if it worked on paper, why not try with fabrics? I’m really happy with the results, with that great shabby distressed look that I love so much. And those buttons are just the icing on the cake, aren’t they? Want them in every single color.

28 Lilac Lane
Speaking of colors, here’s just a peek of May’s 28 Lilac Lane collection. These are from the embellishment bottles, Hello Sunshine, Pumpkin Spice, and Minty Fresh. Aren’t they beautiful?

28 Lilac Lane products are available now at Ellen Hutson, LLC, and are coming soon to Scrapbook.com. Be sure to check out May’s blog for lots more project ideas, too.

And if you’re interested in my Sunny Prim Pillow Tucks, you can find them in my Spring Shop here.

Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on it’s Way

Hello, Sweetie Peeps!

The other day, I was prowling through my favorite local junk store, and came across the cutest little bunny rabbit desk frame. I know Easter is just a few days away, but I seriously couldn’t resist. So perfect for altering. So perfect for a bit of home decor. You all know  how I am about frames!

So of course that little bunny frame went home with me. And then it came along on my beach retreat this past weekend, where it was promptly altered with a wee bit of stitchery.

P1100893
The frame itself already had so much great character that I wanted to keep the stitching simple in comparison. So I chose a few words from an old childhood favorite song for my needlework, stitched in my own raggedy hand-writing onto soft cotton flannel.

P1100894
Really sweet and simple, with lots of attention on that adorable frame. And promptly added to my front entryway table with a few other favorite Easter things.

P1100895
A nest. Some garden greens tucked into my trusty antique watering can. And a new precious Easter bunny that I am absolutely crazy about.  (Thank you so much, Kathie!)

P1100896
My silly little handmade paper mache chick I made last year.

P1100900
And a few more of my handmade dollies tucked into the basket below, in both fabric and more paper mache.

P1100901
Such silly things that make me smile.

I know it is very last minute…

But I’ve added my bunny Hippity Hoppity frame to my Spring Shop. You can find it here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a very happy day!
