Scaredy Cat Fabric Week with Therm O Web

Hello, crafty friends! This week is a fun week on the Therm O Web blog, as we have joined up with our friend Amanda Niederhauser to create fall and Halloween projects with her Scaredy Cat fabric line. Amanda used to design with us at Therm O Web, and has since gone on to create her own product line. We are all so proud of her wonderful accomplishments, and couldn’t wait to get our hands on her adorable fabric.

As many of you know, I took up cross-stitch again at the beginning of the year, and I’ve noticed that most of the stitchers who share on social media use zippered project bags to hold their supplies. These pouches are perfect for holding everything you need for a work in progress, including the cross-stitch fabric, charts, embroidery floss, needle, and scissors. And of course, zipper bags are useful for many other things, too.

So for my Scaredy Cat project, I made a pair of zipper pouch project bags. Both a large one for holding fabric and charts, and a smaller notion bag. These pouches are fully lined, and padded with Therm O Web fusible fleece for structure and durability.

I’ve just recently learned how to install a zipper, and just want to say to all you other beginning sewers out there… if I can do it, you can do it, too! These pouches are fun and quite easy to make. I’ve got the full step-by-step tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful day!

PMU Header

Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! Today I have a card to share that I made for the July release of the new CardMaps sketches on the PageMaps blog.

Here is the fun sketch that I used, and my take on it featuring GinaK Designs stamps and a Unity card front from Therm O Web.

One of my favorite things about Therm O Web is the diverse range of products and designers that they work with. This past spring, they partnered up with Unity stamps to create a line of toner card fronts that work beautifully with or without TOW deco foils. For this card, I used Copic markers to color a Floral Background card front sheet to create that pretty sunflower card base.

I love how well the GinaK Designs Graphic Sunflowers stamps coordinate with the Unity background. I always think of sunflowers in August. One last burst of summer color before autumn sets in.

Hope your August is going well! Hard to believe it’s about half over already. My missy Nik started her senior year of college this week, can you fathom that? And Pete’s back in Richmond doing a hospital pharmacy rotation before his classes start back up. Summer sure flew by, didn’t it?

Dreams do Come True with Therm O Web

Happy Friday, crafty friends! This week, we have fun new products to celebrate at Therm O Web with the release of a line of five fairytale-inspired shimmery colors of iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Sheets.

Today I am sharing a set of cards on the Therm O Web blog featuring two of the new fairytale-inspired colors of iCraft Deco Foil, Prince Periwinkle and Glass Slipper.

The paper collection I’ve used is an older one from PhotoPlay Paper but talk about a fabulous color match for the new foils, and how perfect for our theme this week. I have combined papers, stickers, and cut-apart journaling cards with my current favorite polka dot stencil to create fun and whimsical party cards with amazing foiled backgrounds.

The iridescent shine of these new foil colors is amazing, and I love how they change colors depending on how the light hits them. Almost magical, wouldn’t you say?

I used the new Transfer Gel Duo to apply the foil, and the great thing about this new formulation is that it can be used with or without heat to transfer. If you’d like to learn more, I’ve got all the details and step-by-step instructions up on the Therm O Web blog today.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sending Sunshine with Therm O Web

Happy Monday, friends! Hope you all had a wonderful long holiday weekend! Today I am sending a little crafty sunshine your way with a pair of simple cards that I made for a fun feature we had on the Therm O Web blog last week, adding fabric to paper projects.

This sweet and easy-to-create pair of note-cards feature fabric applique die cuts made with Therm O Web Heatn’Bond Lite iron-on adhesive. You would think Heatn’Bond would only work for fabric to fabric applications, but it does equally well on paper. It was one of my crazier experiments to iron paper, but the process works like a charm and will open a whole new world of paper-crafting possibilities.

I think these note-cards are so fun and whimsical, and they are a great way to use up some of those smaller fabric scraps you may be holding onto. The Heatn’Bond Lite makes for quick and easy die-cutting and iron-on application and totally eliminates any need to add machine or hand sewing to the cards if that’s not your thing.

As always, I’ve got all the tips and tricks and step-by-steps for creating this project up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you a very happy week ahead!

Sending Sunshine with Therm O Web

Happy Thursday, crafty friends! There’s nothing like pulling a bit of happy mail out of the post box, and with the current situation of quarantine and COVID 19, this holds true even more so than ever. So today I am sharing a festive and happy card that is sure to brighten up anyone’s day and fill a mailbox full of sunshine.

I made this card for Therm O Web this past week, and it features two of the GinaK Designs stamp sets along with the soft velvety texture of iCraft Deco Foil Flock transfer sheets. I love all the different ways that the flock sheets can be used and how they add a different visual element to a design. I used the flock as-is here, but also die cut and stamped on it, too. I’ve got the complete step-by-step tutorial up on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Sending lots of sunshine your way, friends! Be well!

Bunny Kisses with Therm O Web

Happy Tuesday, crafty friends! In these rather uncertain and unsettling times that we are going through, I find that doing a little something creative every day really helps calm the nerves. So this week, I hope to share a bit of crafty mojo and inspiration with you with a set of spring/Easter project ideas made with the adorable Easter Wishes collection from Color Play. Yesterday I posted a card (here) that I made with the new April CardMaps sketches. And today, I have another bunny to share… this time a card I made for the Therm O Web blog featuring the sparkly fun of Glitz Glitter Gel.

Once again, my card for today features one of the cut-apart journaling cards from the kit collection, layered within a frame die cut with GinaK square dies. Yesterday’s project had a sentiment strip that I mentioned came from one of these journaling cards, and this is the leftover portion of that card. I love using up every bit of scraps that I can. Makes it feel like a bonus project to me. Win!

The sentiment strip this time was trimmed from another journaling card, so I guess that means I have another challenge ahead to use the rest of that now. The flower basket card was too narrow for the opening, so it was layered on the white center square behind it. A few stickers on pop dots finish the scene.

I always love the sparkly shine of Glitz Glitter Gel. This is the Bubblegum color, applied to the cardstock frame with a new polka dot stencil from Ranger. I’m going to have a hard time staying away from those fabulous dots. I want to put them on everything.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be back tomorrow with day 3 of my Easter Wishes inspiration week. Until then, be well!

Therm O Web & Rina K. Designs Neon Blog Hop

Image may contain: text

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Therm O Web & Rina K. Designs Neon Blog Hop! We are so excited to share with you this new line-up of Electro-Pop Neon products including enamel transfer sheets, flock transfer sheets, and Glitz Glitter Gel in hot neon colors we know you will love. I hope you will join us and help celebrate this fun new release today along this blog hop filled with tips and tricks, inspiration, and the opportunity to win one of two $50 gift cards. Keep reading to the end of the post for more information on that.

My project for the hop features the new Rina K. Designs Stampn’Stencil set called Sending Sunshine and the fabulous new neon color, Screamin’ Green. My daughter, who absolutely adores a good pun, is going to love this fun summer-inspired card. And with all this Corona virus health scare going on, I think we all wouldn’t mind being isolated on a tropical island right about now.

I used lots of crisp white Therm O Web cardstock and some Gina K. Designs oval dies on this project, along with the Aloha collection pack from Photo Play Paper. The Sending Sunshine pineapple stamp is a three-step stamp which allows you to stamp the layers in different colors. The Screamin’ Green ink and flock transfer sheet used around the edge of the oval frame really add a nice pop of color.

Be sure to leave a comment at each blog for your chance to win one of two Therm O Web $50 gift cards. Entries close March 22nd at 11:59 pm CST, and the winners will be announced on the Therm O Web blog on the 24th at 1:00 pm CST.

Thanks so much for stopping by! The next stop along the hop is Lynnea Hollendonner.

Hope you enjoy the hop!

Therm O Web & Unity Stamps IG Blog Hop

Image may contain: text

Happy Monday, crafty friends! Today the Therm O Web team is excited to announce the release of a brand new product line in partnership with Unity Stamp Co. This new line consists of Toner Card Fronts that are perfect for you card makers out there. These sheets can be inked, colored, watercolored, used with or without iCraft Deco Foil. And to celebrate the release, both teams are hosting a blog hop today  on Instagram.

For the hop, I made a tag and card set that I’m sharing on Instagram today. They feature the Flowers & Lines Toner Card Fronts, just one of six new designs being released. The card fronts are perfectly sized for the standard A2 card base, but they can also be cut apart and used in different ways.

I love trying out various ways to use products, and used two different applications for the Card Fronts today. Both projects started with one Card Front sheet, which was cut in half to make one card and one tag.

Both pieces were colored with Copic markers, and these sheets do color beautifully. For the card, I left the coloring as-is. And the tag was foiled for a different look.

The full tutorial for this tag and card set are on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more. And be sure to pop over to Instagram to join in on today’s fun hop, filled with project inspiration from both teams and 8 prize giveaways, too. For all the information, start at @unitystampco or @thermoweb on Instagram.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Huge Celebration with Therm O Web Glitz

Happy Tuesday, crafty friends! I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day and President’s Day holiday, as it’s been a hot minute since last I wrote. Today I have another Creativation card project to share that I made for the Therm O Web booth featuring Glitz Glitter Gel.

Although this card focused on the glittery Brilliant Blue Glitz background, it is a real mix of lots of my current favorite products. I used a Therm O Web rectangle die to cut out the large sentiment, which is an awesome new stamp from the Ranger Ink LetterIt line. I filled in the lettering with Copic coloring, and used the same markers to draw around the edge of the frame. That is My Favorite Winter 6×6 paper by Echo Park, and a cutie pie deer image from Hello Bluebird.

Just like that, we are halfway through February, already. I don’t know where the time goes. I’m still working away on my cross stitch project that I started last month, but am happy to say that I’m really getting close to the end now. And I recently snuck off on a little trip to Richmond to pop in on Pete. And I may, or may not, have dropped a penny or two at a needlepoint shop while I was there. Hope you are all doing well, and are having a fabulous winter! Thanks for stopping by!

Snowflake Kisses Snow Globe with Therm O Web & GinaK Designs

Happy Wednesday, crafty friends!

It’s finally turned cold here in North Carolina. Not cold enough for any of the snowy stuff, but definitely feeling a bit of the winter freeze. Perfect time to share with frosty winter snow globe card that I made recently for the Therm O Web blog featuring stamps, stencils, and Glitz Glitter Gel from Therm O Web and GinaK Designs.

I just love the texture that comes from the Glitz Glitter Gels. Such great dimension, with glitter that doesn’t make a mess. This is the new Silver Glitz color. So perfect for winter flakes.

I used a Tim Holtz snow globe die set for the window opening, and added a simple deer silhouette from another favorite set. The snowflake stencil and sentiment are from GinaK Designs.

I’ve just dropped my parents off at the airport, and am now headed out to the coast for my annual January scrapbooking retreat. I’m so behind on my blog visits, and I apologize for that. Really hope to be by to see you all soon!
