Happy Friday, crafty friends! As I mentioned in a previous post, from now until December I am on a mission to make at least one holiday card a week during a crafty Zoom session with my friend, Kathie. It’s one way to stay connected to friends and family during these quarantine days, and a great way to build up my stash of cards for the year at the same time. I am calling this my 2021 Christmas Card Project, and each week I hope to share my progress with you.
For week 19, I made a matching pair of cards using Doodlebug’s Night Before Christmas collection.
These cards feature paper from the 6×6 pad that were pieced to create a simple background. Then the row houses and critters were added to complete the scene. I used my favorite borders die set to add ruffled edging to the bottom of the houses. Reminds me of the pretty icing that decorates gingerbread houses at holiday time.
I had some old enamel dots that perfectly matched these Doodlebug colors, and of course I needed to add my favorite twine ties. There are no sentiments in the die cut package, but I did find a 6×6 paper that is filled with small tags that I could cut apart to use. I simply added the bottom portion of the tags with the wording to the top edge of the card, and cut off the images on the top of the tags. They’re small little labels, but I think it works here.
I’ve had such fun keeping up with my weekly holiday card challenge, and I’ve come a long way. Here we are in June already. Soon it will be Christmas in July, and you know I will be ready!
Happy weekend, friends! Thanks so much for stopping by!
