Happy Friday, crafty friends! As I mentioned in a previous post, from now until December I am on a mission to make at least one holiday card a week during a crafty Zoom session with my friend, Kathie. It’s one way to stay connected to friends and family during these quarantine days, and a great way to build up my stash of cards for the year at the same time. I am calling this my 2021 Christmas Card Project, and each week I hope to share my progress with you.
For week 9, I made two cards with Photoplay Paper’s adorable Not a Creature Was Stirring collection.
I always find it interesting that I can get into a groove during a card making session, and not see the pattern until I go to photograph the finished projects. And that is the case with the two cards I am sharing today that feature the same image used in two different ways. The first card features a cute scene of Santa and Mrs Claus with a plate of cookies that came from a cut apart journaling card included in the 6×6 paper pad. I layered the card with a mix of both solid and printed papers and added borders of scallops in crisp white cardstock to break up the lines. For this one, the sentiment is stamped using the matching Not a Creature Was Stirring stamp set. A twine tie finishes the design.
The second card features the same focal image, this time a smaller version that came from the ephemera die cuts. Once again I layered with several prints from the 6×6 pad, and added more scallops to match the image. Both cards feature the same basic design, but look quite unique by changing up the papers and a few key features.
I’m starting into my third month of my 2021 Christmas Card Project. Definitely beginning to build up my stash now!
Happy weekend, friends! Thanks so much for stopping by!
