Hi Crafty friends! I’m sneaking back to the blog today with another holiday card. I usually only post about once a week these days, but time is running short and I’ve got a whole stack of holiday cards still to share … so I’m going to do my best to feature as many here as I can before Christmas day. And then I hope to get them in the mail before then, too!
Every January, my gang of scrappy gal pals heads off to Myrtle Beach for a long weekend scrapbook retreat. As always, I limit myself to the amount of supplies I bring along…. cause let’s face it, it’s a lot of work to pack and haul all those supplies. And then it becomes a fun challenge to see how many cards I can create from just that little bit of stuff. This year, I brought along the remaining leftovers of two favorite Christmas collections, I Love Christmas by Echo Park and Dear Santa by Photo Play Paper. I keep hoping that I’ll manage to use up all my scraps, but even after making a baker’s dozen holiday cards at the retreat, I still have lots of paper and stickers left. And this isn’t even the first time I’ve packed these two collections to a retreat. I swear sometimes I think those scraps get together and multiply.
It does feel good to use up scraps and leftovers, and I always enjoy the challenge of trying to find ways to use them. So out of thirteen scrappy cards, here is day 1, with a cute little Santa scene straight out of a favorite Christmas song sung by little Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 way back in 1970
I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night……
The Santa sticker and all the patterned paper is Echo Park, I Love Christmas. The mistletoe and sentiment are from the Photo Play Paper Dear Santa sticker sheet. I brought along two punches to the retreat, a corner rounder and a scallop border, and I used both of them here. A bit of white cardstock, and some enamel dots finish this design.
Although these collections are older, some of these supplies are still available, and I’ll link you to those whenever I can. I also noticed that both lines are part of the huge 12 Days of Christmas sale going on at Scrapbook.com right now! Woot!
