Summer State of Mind with Photo Play Paper

Hi friends! It’s midweek already, and I have managed to get myself all out of schedule again. Life just has a way of getting away on me at times. Here things have been cruising along at a nice summer pace, but seemingly out of the blue, it is suddenly back to school time… and there are big changes in the works for my little clan. Soon my little Missy Nik will be moving into a dorm-style apartment building right off of campus, starting her second year at university. And the biggest change is with my Bubby Pete, who is heading off to graduate school to start on his doctor of pharmacy degree.

Although I am incredibly proud of my kiddos, I will admit that changes like these are pretty hard on this ol’ mom. In just a few short days, we’ll be packing up the cars to move Pete to his new home away from home at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. My downstairs is filling up with boxes and bags of things to take. Constant reminders now that they will soon be gone.

So life has gotten busy again here, but I hope to be around to visit with you all as soon as things get settled. Can’t believe we’re down to the last few days of the break already. Hoping to put myself into a summer state of mind with this fun card share for today. A flip-flop wearing, watermelon eating happy card made with the adorable Those Summer Days collection by Photo Play Paper.

Is it working?? 😉

  1. A fab summer card, Audrey!! Wonderful fun layers and reminders of summer with the flip flops and water melon!! I hope Missy and Pete have a wonderful school! I’m sure you are very proud of them! Take care and enjoy the rest of the summer!

  2. Your adorable card perfectly represents summer, Audrey! My son moved from home two years ago and I still have a hard time adjusting to it! It’s hard to let go and let them start a new phase in life but it is necessary. How wonderful, though, that they are on an amazing path!

  3. Beautiful colors and wonderful design! It totally screams summer~I adore the cute little flip flops and yummy watermelon!
Life has been busy on this end as well! I still can’t believe it’s August…I seriously do not know where the past 2 months have gone! Geeze, it could slow down a bit!
Good luck to your daughter, Nik and son Pete as they continue with school~
    Have a great evening,

  4. You must be so proud of your kiddos! Hope things slow down for you soon…and you can enjoy autumn! I’m looking forward to your autumn home decor of course!;)

Your card is so bright and cheery! Such a happy card!

  5. Boy could I use a slice of that watermelon right now. LOL Too bad it has to be so stinkin’ hot during this fun time of the year. Summer delights on this little treasure. They may be headed back to school but I know you have to be soooo proud of them. Praying the moves go smoothly.
