Hello, hello friends, and happy Monday once again! You all know by now how much I love me some Halloween! So today I am super excited to share this project with you… a frightfully fun Halloween card which is part of the 2017 Halloween Inspiration Series on the Tim Holtz blog this week.
Do you think it’s possible for monsters to be too cute to spook? I think these guys might just be. These silly boos are from the Monsters Thinlits die set, part of the new 2017 Sizzix Tim Holtz Halloween collection. I don’t know about you, but they so much remind me of the Monsters, Inc. characters which we so loved and adored when my kids were little. Lots of happy memories there.
The monsters were die cut from Distress cardstock, and pieced to create all their little features. They are sanded and inked, and dressed up with a few shabby polka dots for an extra bit of fun. I added detail to their eyes with a fine-tipped pen. The background was created from the Rosette Texture Fade embossing folder, inked in toxic green Distress and die cut with the Stitched Squares die set. Stitched the card to a background of Distress cardstock to match.
The monsters are popping out of a frame die cut with both the new Stitched Squares and Stitched Circles die set. I added some spooky cobweb stamping and inked the frame in contrasting green. The Halloween labels and spiderwebs all come from the Mini Halloween Stamper’s Anonymous stamp set. Sentiment banners are made using Gothic Remnant Rubs. All the details have been crumpled and creased, inked and stapled for that aged look I love so well.
Be sure to check out the Tim Holtz blog for lots of Halloween inspiration throughout the month of October. And thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful day!
