A Lantern DIY with Sizzix and Tim Holtz

Hi sweet crafty friends! Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a fun DIY decor project to share that I made for the Sizzix blog using the fabulous new Lantern Box Bigz die by Tim Holtz.

These 3D lanterns are super fun for all sorts of home decor and party projects, and I love that they are the perfect size for those tiny electric tea light candles so that you can turn your lantern into a luminary if you wish.

I love using these lanterns individually, but then I thought how fun it would be to tie multiples together to create a whole garland full of sweet lanterns. Can’t you see these hanging off a mantel for different holidays, or strung above the table for that perfect party decor?

I embossed my lanterns with some of the new Tim Holtz Texture Fades embossing folders, and then gave them a shabby vintage inspired finish with Distress Ink, big puffy bows, and a bit of die cut greenery. Tucked an Idea-ology Paper Doll into the window of one for a bit of unexpected whimsy. Super fun and easy to put together. I’ve got the full tutorial up on the Sizzix blog, if you’d like to learn more.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful Day!
