Happy Friday, Crafty Friends!
Today I have another Creativation show project to share. This time, a soft and shabby floral card I made for the Ranger Ink booth.
I am a sucker for browns and neutrals of all kinds, and tend to gravitate towards these colors often in my designs. Love them mixed with the soft pinks I used here. It’s a great feminine combo, and a good match for this Tim Holtz Flower Garden stamp. Still one of my all-time favorite sets.
The focus of this project was on Distress Inks and Markers, and I tried to feature several techniques using those products here. The flower image was stamped and watercolored with Distress Inks, for a bit of a no-line coloring look. The backgrounds have been ink blended and grunged with Vintage collage medium and touches of glitter. I stamped a light text print with Distress onto the back of the oval die cut, too.
To call some extra attention to the pretty embossed background, I traced areas of the pattern with a dark brown Distress Marker, and then lightly spritzed the area with water to allow the ink to smooth and blend. A fun technique that could be done in so many different colorways, or combination of colors. And a different way to stretch the use of your basic supplies.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!
