Silent Night with Sizzix

Happy Friday, Crafty Friends!

Today is a happy day at my house. I’ve got both kiddos here snuggled under one roof, and this afternoon my parents arrive for a nice long holiday visit. Once they land, it truly feels like Christmas has arrived. Good thing, too, since it’s only about a week away. Are you all ready? Crossed everything off that holiday check list yet?

I’m in pretty good shape, although there are still last minute things to do. I need to wrap, perhaps even shop, and there are a few cards yet to mail. If you’re like me, and still need to get some cards out, I’ve got a super quick card idea to share with you today. This CAS holiday card is so easy to put together, and this basic design would work with just about any image or theme you need.

The key is to put to use some of those sticker sheets that we all tend to collection. For this card, I used a sentiment banner, holly leaf, and reindeer sticker from Echo Park’s I Love Christmas collection to create a quick holiday scene. And then dressed up the card with framework and embossing using some favorite Sizzix supplies. So quick and so easy to replicate, even last minute like this.

The emphasis on this card was mail-ability, but that doesn’t mean it has to lack detail. Just a bit of simple embossing adds a whole lot of character to a very CAS card. And a little window frame backed with patterned paper is an easy way to change the look while keeping the same design.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. It’s another cute little card too! Rudolph looks really smug as his season is about to begin and he is in charge of that sleigh! Lucky you to have both your children home! I’ll have two out of three… sigh.. but we will Skype- thank goodness for that! Almost have that house ready – weeell, its my scrapping that makes a mess!

  2. How fun. You’ve inspired me to get out some older sticker sheets and create with them. The embossed texture adds a richness to a CAS design. Enjoy your family time! Thanks for the lovely card!
