Hello, Friends! Happy Friday!
Over this past summer, Therm O Web was in Salt Lake City to attend the third annual Sierra Pacific Crafts Mixed Media Trade Show. The focus of this show was to share projects and ideas featuring our new Mixed Media craft sheets, and our new watercolor Deco foils, too.
I created a pair of mixed media canvases for the show. One, a patriotic Americana altered canvas that I’ve shared here already. And today, I have the second… A shabby sweet burlap canvas with a fun mixed media art tag.
I really love how the art tag turned out. It’s got lots of my favorite elements on it. Some girly grungy flowers made from the new Therm O Web Mixed Media Sheets and dies from my sweet friend, Tammy Tutterow’s, premier collection with Spellbinder’s. Some handmade stitchy felt leaves to speak to the fabric lover in me. And a bit of nature thrown in in the form of rugged Tim Holtz cork paper and real twigs from my yard.
I love the sort of reckless abandon that comes from applying Deco foil with the liquid adhesive and an old paintbrush. The brush allows for great variation in the application, and gives an amazing texture, too. Just look at that cool watercolor wash on the background of the tag made with the new Emerald Watercolor foil. So fun. I added foil to the center of the flowers using the same technique, too.
If you’d like to learn more about the new Mixed Media Sheets, Watercolor Deco Foils, or today’s project, be sure to pop over to the Therm O Web blog and check out my full step-by-step tutorial.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m off in the mountains today for a very belated 50th birthday celebration for my dear friend, Paige. It’s going to be a great weekend! Hope you have an amazing one, too!
