Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks for stopping by!
Today I have a DIY home decor project to share, made with a new line of home decor dies by Sizzix and Lynda Kanase.
This fresh from the garden hanger is made with a new Thinlits Plus die set called Ampersand, and it is fabulous for home decor projects like this. The Plus size means that these die sets are larger than regular Thinlits set, making them perfect for larger focal point and projects.
I loved the large wavy banner from this set, and decided to use it as the base for this little door hanger. I die cut the banner twice, once from patterned paper and once from heavyweight watercolor cardstock, to give the base some strength and stability. And then decorated the banner with lots of pretty flowers and swirls.
There’s lots of fun flower shapes included in this set, giving you plenty of different options for floral designs. Love that you can basically layer as many pieces and shapes as you wish. I added foam tape between some of the layers to add dimension, and topped my flowers with pretty buttons from 28 Lilac Lane.
I love bringing a touch of the garden indoors for the summer. And this is such an easy project when dies do all the work for you. I’ve got a full step-by-step tutorial up on the Sizzix blog, if you’d like to learn more.
Happy Wednesday, Friends! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
