Merry One with Simple Stories & Petaloo

Hi everyone, and happy Friday! Today I have a Simple Stories holiday card to share, made with the Claus & Co. collection along with goodies from our recent match-up with Petaloo.

Most of you know by now how much I love all things vintage, so of course I couldn’t resist this adorable old-timey truck die cut.  I created a background from journaling cards, and then popped the truck right onto the center. I really love using the SN@P cards as patterned paper on my cards. Of course they perfectly coordinate with the rest of the line, and they offer even more pattern choices for patterned paper lovers, like me.

I raised the top paper piece on foam adhesive, and added a scalloped cardstock border sticker along the bottom edge. Then I created a “road” for my truck using two trims from Petaloo’s Shades of Green Fancy Trim pack.

Used a couple of enamel dots for headlights. And a die cut Bits & Pieces banner for the sentiment. And finally, a twine bow and flower and leaves from Petaloo’s Tea-stained Darjeeling Petites  pack.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friends! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

  1. This is so cute – and what a clever one you are creating a ribbon road, and the gems for headlights. Love the holiday blog banner, too! You have me a festive mood now.

  2. Your card is wonderful with the vintage red truck and wreath, Audrey!!! Love the dots for the lights and the pretty trims and flowers…great card!!!

  3. I love this card, Audrey. That truck is so special. My dad had an old red work truck in the 60’s.
I’m the oldest of 5 girls and we had the best dad ever. We wanted to “dress up” his truck so we used a little flower power. We put big psychedelic flower decals on it. He just smiled and drove it anyway. Thanks for the memory.

  4. This brings back so many memories. My Grandpa had a truck very much like this and every year we would go out and find a real cedar tree on the property to cut down for Christmas. Wonderful imagery and a reminder of sweet simpler times.
