The Stars & Stripes with Simple Stories

I’ve got a couple of patriotic projects to share with you today, just in time for the Fourth of July, made with Simple Stories’ new 12×12 Collection Kit, Stars & Stripes.

Stars & Stripes is such a great collection. Of course it’s perfect for all your summer papercrafting needs, but I have to say that I am crazy for the ol’ red, white, and blue any time of the year. I think my favorite thing from this collection has got to be that adorable surf wagon, and I couldn’t resist using it in both projects today. It’s got that laid-back California surfer vibe I remember from my early days.

First up, a quick and easy home decor frame, made with one of the larger 4×6 journaling cards. I had just enough room for a couple of layers of papers underneath, and because I removed the glass, I could build up layers on top, too.

I simply added a twine tie, and a few Stars & Stripes stickers. Thought the scalloped border made an awesome “road” for my wagon to cruise on. Super simple, and fun.

And because I love that little car so much, I made a matching card using the smaller cardstock sticker.

A smaller 3×4 journaling card this time and Stars & Stripes stickers.  I popped some of them up with foam dots for a bit of depth in my little scene. I’ve got the details, along with the complete supply list, up on the Simple Stories blog, if you’d like to learn more

Thanks so much for stopping by! Just a few more days until the 4th! Have any fun plans in the works?

  2. Very cool. Love the classic vibe of these projects. That home decor piece will never go out of style. And that card is just perfect.
