Helllloooo my friends! Thanks for stopping by! Today I have a fun watercolor project up on the Sizzix blog to share, using the beautiful Limitations butterfly stamp and die set by Tim Holtz.
I’m calling this little guy a layered butterfly “topper”, as it’s a super fun way to top all sorts of papercrafting projects. A clip on the backside makes it really easy to add, or remove, the butterfly to just about anything. It’s great for layouts and cards, and also home decor, gift bags and packages, and so much more. It’s the perfect embellishment for my little gift bag here, and I love that my recipient can recycle the butterfly for another use.
I used a fun smooshing watercolor technique to add color to my butterfly using Distress Inks and recycled plastic packaging. I love that no matter how many times you do this process, no two butterflies will ever turn out exactly the same. Now how fun is that?
I’ve got the complete step-by-step tutorial up on the Sizzix blog, if you’d like to learn more.
If you are interested in any of the products I’ve shared with you today, I’ve got a special discount code for you (SZB2015), good anytime until December 31st for 15% off regular priced purchases at Sizzix.com. (sorry Sizzix only ships within the US at this time).
And don’t forget… have you checked out Camp Scrap yet?
