Father’s Day with BasicGrey

Hi Friends! Happy Wednesday!

AudreyPettit BG SouthPacific Father'sDay
Yesterday, I was up on the BasicGrey blog with a couple of masculine card designs featuring the new South Pacific collection.  And today I thought I’d share the first of them here with you, too.

AudreyPettit BG SouthPacific Father'sDay2My first card is a Father’s Day project, done up in a retro collage-style design that works perfectly for masculine cards. For this project, I stuck with the deeper, richer colors in this collection, in the blue and teal range, and paired them with neutrals and natural elements like twine.

AudreyPettit BG SouthPacific Father'sDay3I heavily inked this card, and distressed some of the paper edges to create a time-worn look. Then layered in lots of masculine elements like postage stamps, ledger papers, and ticket stubs.

I’ve got a second masculine South Pacific card up on the BasicGrey blog, if you’d like to see more. Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful day.

  1. Love this Audrey! Classic and masculin, but gorgeous. Popped over to BasicGrey and the parrot card is fantastic! I’ll leave some live there, but really both are incredibly inspiring (which is nothing new for you!). 😄

  2. Wow, Audrey! You are the queen of layering! Fabulous masculine card with awesome layers! Love the ledger paper and ticket stubs! I must keep that in mind when making a masculine card! Wonderful color on the card, too! Thanks so much for the inspiration!:-)

  3. Those colors are definitely perfect for a male card. The papers make me think of some old log books and papers I have from my great-grandfather. I like the whimsy of the palm tree. Awesome work as always! Hugs!

  4. Mmmm… love these colors… and I’m crazy about that palm tree. This is a wonderful masculine card with all these little bits tucked and layered. Now I must see the rest of this collection… it just might have my name written all over it!
    Have a happy day, Audrey!
