Hoppy Easter with Authentique & Petaloo

Hello my friends, and happy Monday! Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments on my cards for My Creative Time last week. I had so much fun playing along with the MCT team for their 41st Edition Release week, and appreciated each and every visit from you. This week, the Authentique team is hopping with our friends at Petaloo, sharing Easter projects featuring the adorable Treasure collection and Petaloo flowers, notions, and trim. I am first up today with a set of quick and easy Easter cards.

One great thing about card sets is how time saving they are. Once you figure out your design, the cards come together really quickly. I started with a simple base of patterned paper, with a strip added to the left hand side. Using the same design for all really speeds up the process and keeps the set uniform, but changing up the papers makes each card unique.

The adorable 3×4 journaling cards from the Enhancements paper make wonderful sentiments and focal images for cards. And with their large size, you really don’t need much else. I added a variety of die cut tabs to the top of the Enhancements and layered them onto a mat of patterned paper. By matching the paper to the prints on the tabs, the two look like all one piece and give a really seamless flow.

To dress up my cards, I used Petaloo’s fabulous textured burlap flowers in ivory. A bit of dabbed paint coordinates the flowers to each card. I cut apart one of the green burlap flowers to create a pair of leaves for each one, too. Last touch was to add Petaloo trims in crochet lace and pom poms.

Super simple and cute, and hopefully… even flat enough for mailing! 🙂

Be sure to stop by the Authentique blog this week for lots more Easter inspiration and project ideas. And leave a comment while you are there for your chance to win an Authentique/Petaloo prize package. Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

  1. You make it look easy, Audrey! These are beautiful! I had to take a double look at the pom-pom trim–I thought it was bunny heads at first. Maybe, I should do an ink blot test! lol

  2. These are all so adorable – started to make some cards this week (as you know I just moved) and my sewing foot didn’t make the trip! Had to order one and I’m lost without being able to stitch on things! Fabulous cards!

  3. Lovely series of cards Audrey! At first I thought you did a bit of ‘old fashioned’ embroidery here! Turned out to be paper, such fab designs they have! The sentiments make superb centrepieces! Hugs, Ira x

  4. Peep calm and carry on? Awww…just how CUTE is that!!! Love the colors, trim, and pretty flowers, Audrey! They are gorgeous Easter cards!

  5. These are so pretty. When you break it down it really seems so simple. But they look anything but simple. All your layers and embellies serve a purpose.. Then never seem thrown together. You have a beautiful way with design. Love all three.

  6. Oh my gosh the “Peep Calm and carry on” cracked me up. It’s amazing how much Peeps have become a standard in Easter basket fare. These cards are fantastic. You created a really wonderful simple design that make the different patterns and trims come together easy but look like a million bucks. Easter happiness! Hugs!

  7. What an adorable set! Beautiful papers and design and how clever of you to dab some paint on those burlap posies to coordinate. Love! “Peep calm” made me chuckle, too cute.
