When “Adventure” Meets “Accomplished”

Hi Sweeties! Thanks for stopping by! Today I have a very grungy, rugged card to share with you that combines two of Authentique’s fabulous new summer collections, Adventure and Accomplished.

Out of all of Authentique’s new summer releases, both Accomplished and Adventure struck me as having more masculine prints. And although these collections don’t seem to “go together” very well at first glance, I thought it would be fun to pair the two lines to create a rugged, manly man card for my sweet dad.

I love how this turned out. Sometimes combining the most unlikely elements results in a truly unique and one-of-a-kind design. I had fun getting grungy with ink, paint, and sandpaper here, and experimented with a cool new lattice die from Tim Holtz, too. I took lots of photos of my process to share with you, in case you’d like to give this a try. You can find the full step-by-step tutorial on the Authentique blog here.
Sorry if I’ve been slow in getting around to visit with all of you. I haven’t been spending much time near a computer these last few days. I’m off in California right now, soaking up every little bit of time I get to spend with my family. These moments are precious. Gotta make the most of them. Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend, too.
