I can’t help noticing, as I sit here bundled up in my fleece and blanket, how unseasonably cold it has become for November. I know many folks are encountering their first snowfalls of the year already, although it seems way to early for all of that. Here in the heart of North Carolina, we’ve been spared so far. But there has been talk. Rumors. And it sure feels cold enough to snow.
These cutie pie little stockings are a new Sizzix die by Brenda Walton. Once assembled, they are the perfect size for holding a gift card, or they can be filled with any number of small treats. Add a wire or ribbon hanger, like mine, and you have an instant ornament or decoration. Love the idea of tying these onto the tops of my holiday packages.
I paper pieced my stockings using a variety of Glistening patterned papers, and added a bit of machine stitching and inked edges for extra detail. The cuffs were decorated with some of my favorite things…treasured vintage lace, felt snowflakes, paper rosettes, vintage buttons, seam binding and twine. I’ve got the complete step by step directions up on the Authentique blog, if you’d like to learn more.
