Throwback Halloween with Authentique

It’s a special Throwback Thursday feature today on the Authentique blog. Over the next several Thursdays, the team will be sharing projects that use older Authentique paper lines along with unique chipboard accents from our product partner, UmWowStudio. Of course today, it being Halloween, I have a bit of a spooky project to share that uses my favorite older Authentique Halloween collection, Enchanted.

Eek! Isn’t he fabulous? Too spooky? I haven’t decided yet….

But creepy or not, Mr. Skeleton was a ton of fun to dress up for the Halloween Ball. He looks quite glamorous now, but this skeleton began as a lowly cheap plastic trinket from the dollar store. After a coating of silver glitter, he’s a new man, though, and he’s looking spiffy in his paper tie and top hat, all made with 6×6 Enchanted Bundle paper. In case you missed my previous post, I have a tutorial for creating paper top hats here.

The coffin is one of those raw wooden pieces from the big box craft store. I gave mine a coat of black paint, and then covered the sides and lids with Enchanted 6×6 papers. Moss and wee miniature pumpkins dress up the inside. Then I added lovely glittered chipboard stars from UmWowStudio.

The patch sign is also UmWowStudio chipboard, this time a banner flag slightly trimmed down and covered with paper. A hand-stamped sign post shows the way.

So there you have it, my friends! My last Halloween project of the year, down to the very wire. And now, I do believe it’s time to finish up my 2013 Haunted Halloween House Tour.

Welcome to my haunted dining room!

My antique walnut side board is dressed up with crisp white ironstone and my favorite transferware dishes. I absolutely adore transferware, and collect it in all sorts of colors. Of course I’ve found a few black pieces to use for Halloween.

I’ve thrown in some of my real, good silver and a few Wedgewood china pieces I found at the Goodwill way back when I was still in high school. Seems like I’ve been junking and antiquing for forever.

Here’s my fun little zombie friend that you may remember.

There are lots of eye balls on the menu.

Here’s my spooky coffin with a few other haunted friends.

Potions and tonics and many creepy spiders.

Well my friends, my favorite day of the year has arrived. Thank you all so much for sharing in my Halloween joy. Wishing you all a very wonderful day filled with fun, spooks, trick or treaters, and lots and LOTS of candy!

Happy Halloween!

  2. If a skeleton and coffin and be adorable, you’ve made it so here! You always have such fantastic ideas. Your sidebar is a pleasure to look at (minus the spiders)! Hope you had a wonderful Halloween!

  3. LOL. Your skelly is dazzling! Are you going to cry when you have to put all these goodies up? You’ve worked so hard and some how bumped it up another notch from last year’s amazing decos. Thanks for sharing it all with us!
