Buckets O’ Fun with Authentique

Sharing some more spooky Halloween fun with you today featuring Authentique’s adorable Thrilling collection. This time, a little wooden bucket filled with some tasty Halloween treats.

Mmmmm…….that looks delicious, right? These were the hors d’oeuvres at my recent Halloween dinner party, and I do believe they were a big hit. I had quite a few requests for the recipe.

The little bucket started as an unfinished wood piece from the big box craft store. I love searching those stores for fun items to alter like this, especially the seasonal sections. Right after a holiday, you can pick these types of items up for a song.

First step was to paint the bucket, inside and out, with a coat of black paint. Then add patterned paper to the bucket and handle. That can be a bit tricky for pieces that are rounded, especially this one that is slightly wider at the top than at the bottom, but I have a trick for that. You can see the full step-by-step directions on the Authentique blog.

The final touch? A few banner flags on a painted, recycled coffee stir stick. Fill the bucket with snacks, and you are good to go!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friends! Wishing you all a very wonderful week!
