This week, the designers are focusing on card-making ideas on the Therm O Web blog. Thank you, birthday, sympathy, new job, new baby, congratulations…whatever your occasion may be, we have cards for you. Today I am up with a fun design for BIG milestone birthdays. Perfect timing for me, as this month I’ve got some pretty big birthdays to celebrate!
It’s not often that really BIG birthdays roll around, but this month, I actually have three of them to celebrate, starting with my son’s big 18th birthday earlier this month. Of course special birthdays call for special cards, which I created with the help of some of my favorite birthday papers and embellishments and my trusty Therm O Web adhesives.
This is BasicGrey’s adorable birthday collection, RSVP. Fabulous happy prints and colors in this line, and better yet, totally works for either masculine or feminine designs. Gotta love that!
All the papers are from the 6×6 paper pad, my favorite crafty staple for card making. The smaller prints are perfect for cards, and of course you always get a ton of prints to mix and match. I added die cut insta-frames and die cut numbers, and dressed the card with embellishments from the Die Cuts and Transparencies pack. A quick strip of vellum tape stretches across the bottom.
Once I was finished with my son’s card, I used the same basic design and supplies to create a surprise 40th birthday party card for a friend.
And again one last time for another birthday card for a friend who’s turning 70 in just a few weeks.
I’ve got more tips and tricks and step-by-step directions on the Therm O Web blog, if you’d like to learn more.
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friends! Wishing you all a wonderful day!
