Although summer doesn’t officially end for several more weeks, once school begins, it always feels to me like fall is here. The days are getting shorter, and there’s a bit of a chill in the air on these early mornings. I’ve had a particularly hard time letting go of summer this year, but I must admit that I’m looking forward to the season ahead…….my favorite season of all. Today I have a little fall project to share on the Sizzix blog. A tiny treat bag or gift holder made with Sizzix’s Mini Shopping Bag Die and Authentique’s adorable Autumn Seasons collection.
As many of you know by now, I am a sucker for little gift bags and boxes of any kind, so of course the Mini Shopping Bag Die is right up my alley. The die is perfectly suited for cutting thicker materials, such as Sizzix Scoreboard or chipboard, for a super strong and sturdy finished box. As I was going for a bit of a natural, rugged look, I cut my mini bag with regular cardstock and added structure with patterned paper and burlap fabric.
I tied the box with pretty burlap trim and added a burlap handle to the top. Layered cardstock stickers and a die cut doily dress up the front, while a rolled paper flower and die cut leaves add detail to the bow.
I added a simple banner sentiment and a few vintage buttons to finish things off. I’ve got more details and step-by-step directions up on the Sizzix blog, if you’d like to learn more.
I am definitely getting in the mood for fall right about now! How about you?
