Today the whirlwind craziness that is CHA Create n’ Connect Summer 2013 begins! Although part of me wishes to be there, getting a firsthand glimpse of new products and soaking up all that creative energy and excitement, the rest of me is super happy to just watch the festivities from the comforts of home. I have a feeling this old arm chair of mine is going to be undergoing quite a bit of extra wear and tear this week as I sit here for hours staring at my computer screen. I don’t know about you, but I think this is such a fun time of year! I hope everyone posts A LOT of pictures!
So last week, I shared peeks of the two adorable collections Little Yellow Bicycle is releasing in time for CHA. And even though they aren’t attending the show this summer, I was very excited to have been asked to create some projects featuring the Christmas line, Making Merry, for their new catalog. I’ve already shared with you a little holiday pillow box, and today I get to show the first of three Christmas cards. If you haven’t had a chance to see this new collection yet, I hope you love it as much as I do!
As with all Little Yellow Bicycle collections, Making Merry is filled with tons of amazing papers and embellishments. I think my favorite thing about Making Merry is the fun chalkboard elements included in this collection. There’s chalkboard papers, and chalkboard stickers, like I used here. There’s even new chalkboard rub-ons that are to die for!
For this card, I combined several of the patterned papers and layered them with a Journaling Card and Decorative Edges Cardstock shape. There’s twine from the Naturals line, and buttons and trim. The pretty white poinsettia and leaves are from the Paper Crafting Kit.
To see more of the fabulous new Little Yellow Bicycle collections, be sure to pop by the blog! And now…….let the armchair races begin!
