Luck of the Irish

Today I’m playing along with one of my favorite challenge blogs, The Shabby Tea Room, and their week #52 challenge, “luck of the Irish”. Such a perfect theme for this time of year, and so fun, too.ย  Simply create a card or project using the color GREEN.

Green is one of my favorite colors to work with. Being an outdoorsy kind of gal, I’ve always been drawn to it. So for today’s card, I added lots and lots of my favorite green, in different shades and tones to add contrast and visual interest to a monochromatic palette. Varying patterns and typography also add a touch of charm and detail. And of course I had to add some of my most favorite things….old buttons and ribbon, machine stitching, rugged hemp cord, and a sweet vintage image to finish things off.

I hope you check out all the fabulous designs from the Shabby Girls at the Tea Room. They have out-done themselves this week. And have you heard??

The Shabby Tea Room is turning one on Monday! And what a party it will be! Tons of prizes. Loads of inspiration. Lots of guest designers, including a project from little old me. I can’t wait to see you all there!

  1. This has to be one of the most wonderful St. Patrick’s day card I have ever seen….You really are talented!

I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday. I had my first day to enjoy yard sales yesterday her in Missouri. I have seen photos of your house ; ) ….I bought a tripod for my video tutorials for $4 and a FREE cute little old desk for FREE!! It is going to be for my studio. I am redoing it and it is a mess right now.

DO you have a studio and have you share photos anywhere? I would love to see where you work!

  2. I love this card and the vintage image! I have a question–is the image from Graphics Fairy? I tried to copy a free image from there, but it came out full page size. I’m not savvy on detailed adjustments on the computer, but I was wondering how to make the image in a size suitable for cards. Have a great weekend!

  5. Green is not an easy to colour to pull off in crafting – even though it is one of my faves too – but you have done a smashing job here.
I was never much into St Paddy days cards (probably because I wouldn’t have anyone to send it too…LOL), but your’s just convinced me to maybe have a go and I bookmarked the Shabby tearoom too!
