Good morning everyone and happy Monday to you! I am posting this in the wee hours of the day as we are on our way to the airport bright and early. Off to start our much anticipated family vacation to California. We are so excited to visit with friends and family and just kick-back in sunny CA. I hope you’ll all come back and visit me often, as I hope to keep the old blog updated with lots of photos and stories of our trip. Thank goodness I’ll have access to a computer so I can see what you all are up to, as well.
Today I have a card to share with you based on the new challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. This week’s challenge, called From the Garden, is to create a project inspired by this lovely photo, courtesy of Blooming Couture Etsy.
Wouldn’t you love to have this on your front door? I absolutely fell in love with the bright colors and the bold flowers. This wreath just screams summer to me. So in turn, I created a card full of color, flowers, and the warmth of the season.
So for a From the Garden challenge, what better paper than Cosmo Cricket’s Garden Variety?
The colors brought just the burst of brightness I was going for, perfectly reminiscent of the inspiration photo.
Our sponsor this week in the Tea Room is Sweet n’ Sassy Stamps.
I used their Cherry Blossom Branch digi-stamp to create the centerpiece of my card. The digital stamp was printed onto cream cardstock, handcut and popped with foam dots for a touch of dimension. I colored the image with chalk pastels for a soft look and added a bit of sparkle to the flower centers with an orange At You Spica pen from Jet Pens.
Popped the cherry branch onto a journaling card from October Afternoon’s Fly a Kite line and layered both on the lace doily cardstock sticker from Thrift Shop. A Fly a Kite sticker completes my sentiment and a bit of vintage seam binding and a button from Jenni Bowlin finish off the details.
I hope you take a moment to check out The Shabby Tea Room blog to see the other wonderful projects from the rest of the team. And play along with us for your chance to win some digital images from Sweet n’ Sassy stamps.
Thanks so much for stopping by everyone! Hope you have a great day!
