Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday! Big day for us today. The kiddos went back to school. And even though I was expecting it, it was still quite a shock when the alarm went off in the wee hours this morning. One day down, 179 to go. :)
Today I have a fun mini note-card set to share with you that features the new Card Sentiments set from Digital Doodles just released this week. There are 14 different sentiments in this set that coordinate perfectly with all the Digital Doodle images that Kathy has released over the last 6 months. Whatever theme or occasion you need, you’ll find the perfect greeting in Card Sentiments.
I created a set of 4 mini cards in a birthday theme using several of the Digital Doodles images along with the birthday sentiments from the new set. I always like to keep a stash of birthday cards on hand, and these smaller notecards are wonderful for tying onto a gift or hanging from a gift bag. The 3.75 x 4 inch size is also perfect for enclosing a gift card. And I love how fun they look packaged in these clear cello bags and tied with a pretty bow and flower.
Each Digital Doodles image was printed onto kraft cardstock, lightly colored with chalk pastels, cut out, and adhered to my card panel with pop dots. I used only purples in the pastels to match the purple in the patterned paper, and added a pop of teal blue in the buttons and flowers. The sentiments were also printed on kraft and cut into strips for a uniform design.
Make It a Double and Sweet Birthday Wishes
Happy Bird Day and Happy Birthday To You
When I opened the Happy Birthday To You sentiment in my editing program, I simply removed the To You to give me more greeting options. A super nice advantage to using digital images.
Fur-Ever Friends and Happy Birthday!
Pretty Packages and Happy Birthday To You
Once you get started with these little cuties, it’s hard to stop, and so fun to mix and match the images with all the sentiment choices. Be sure to check out the Digital Doodles blog for more wonderful Card Sentiments projects from the design team. Check out all the info on the Design Team Call while you’re there, too!
Thanks so much for stopping by everyone! It’s always wonderful to have a visit from YOU!

So, today is a VERY important day at our house. Today, my sweet little Nik turns 11 years old. She has been SO excited all day. Said it’s her “first palindrome” birthday, and for some reason, she’s very happy about that. I’m coming up on a palindrome birthday myself this year, and somehow…….I’m not quite as happy about it as she is! ;)
Here is my sweet girl this morning before leaving for school.
She couldn’t contain herself, and burst into a little happy dance.
Sure wish I could get as excited about my birthday!
Right after school, Nik headed straight to her presents.
And one of my favorites of the day…..
Me and my sweet peanut! I LOVE you, Nik!
And let’s not forget Pete! He got a little something, too. It’s sort of a tradition I started years ago to get a small present for the non-birthday child. You can see that I hit a bullseye.
Carpet sliders………he’s thrilled.
Now, we’ve baked some brownies together, and soon will be heading out to dinner to continue the celebration. Think it’s going to be greasy burgers and fries……or maybe even onion rings! Yum-O!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

My goodness, how quiet it has become around here. Not much going on, that’s for sure. I have to say that I’m enjoying the peace…….but it doesn’t make for very exciting news. Spent a good part of the day running errands. Boring. Got my allergy shots. Also boring. Hung a few pictures, which wasn’t boring as it became quite the ordeal. My parents insist on “doing things right” which means that the antique pictures that I found several months ago need a thorough take apart and cleaning/restoration work before they can be put back together. And then the engineering involved to get them hung is quite extensive. I’m all for pounding a nail in the wall and calling it done, but that’s just me. ;) But I have to admit, there’s something to be said for all the hard work, as they look really wonderful now. I got one picture hung in my living room and several things up in Nik’s room, and I can honestly say that her room is finished now. So happy with the end result.
Since I’ve shared some of the highlights of Nik’s Christmas adventures this year, I thought I’d also share a few of Peter’s greatest moments.
I still am so thrilled with the great deal I managed to find on this awesome 21 speed mountain bike. I was so very lucky. Not sure I’d even know how to ride a bike with this many gears…….but that’s another story.
Well, off to hang some more pictures and then maybe get a game of dominos going with my parents. Hope you all are having a wonderful and peaceful day where you are, too. I’ll have some scrappy stuff to share tomorrow. See you all then!

Hi everyone! We are having a big day here. Today we are celebrating my birthday. My actual birthday is Saturday, but we’ve all got so much stuff going on, that we needed to party a couple of days early. My kiddos are going off for a week with their dad tomorrow, and I am heading off to the beach for a scrappy weekend with my Paper-Playground buddies. How cool is that? I am one lucky, lucky girl!
My sweet daughter decided she was going to make breakfast for me this morning. She came up with a menu of toast, scrambled eggs, and her special homemade lemonade. She made the entire thing by herself, and I am so proud of her.
Isn’t she a little doll?
And that’s not all. After breakfast, the kids had homemade presents for me.
Peter made me a Styrofoam yellow smiley-face ball for my car antenna. Nik made me a set of braided pipe-cleaners, a pencil wrapped with “I love My Mommy” scrapbook paper, and some of the cutest little turkeys you’ve ever seen.
Did I say I’m the luckiest girl ever?
Hope your day is wonderful, too!

I have a teenager in the house. Peter turned 13 today. He’s happy as can be, and I’m a little in shock about it all. It’s just so hard to believe that my first child is this old already. But it really is just a number thing because the child has been ACTING like a teenager for years. Here he is in all his birthday glory.
Looks like a teenager, doesn’t he? Shark tooth necklace, Abercrombie shirt, braces, loooooonnnnnnnnggggg hair… sigh.
Peter really wanted this Nerf gun that was just released called the Vulcan. Fully automated, this baby pumps three bullets per second a distance of around 20 feet. Absolute boy heaven.
He also got a pair of kick-back chairs for the game room from Glammie, Pop-Pop, and Uncle Paul. He was practicing snoozing in them, which was definitely his way of saying “they rock”.
I asked Nik to take a few pictures of Peter and I together, too. He pulled all his usual stunts and tricks, but I did get a few good ones. A bit blurry cause he’s always trying to make a move right when the shutter clicks.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PETER!!! Thanks for all the laughs! I’ve loved every minute of being your mom. Here’s to the next 13 years!
