Hi everyone! I just have a few things to share this evening. Mom is still here visiting, so I haven’t had as much time to devote to my blog. Once things get back to normal around here, I’m hoping to get back on schedule.
But for now, I do have some news to remind you of regarding two different live chats going on tomorrow, April 28th, at the inspireME ning site. First chat begins at 9 am, and second chat will be at 9 pm, both EST. Check google for the correct times in your zone. We will be releasing a new, mid-season line that is absolutely adorable called Sweet As Cherry Pie. This peek will only be available during the chats until the formal release of the line on May 1st. We will also be announcing the winner of our quarterly banner winner, and sharing a way that your page could be featured in our summer catalog!
You do need to be pre-registered at inspireME to participate in our live chats tomorrow, so be sure to pop on over and take care of that if you haven’t already. There is always tons of inspiration there with our beautiful member gallery and monthly contests and challenges. Be sure to check out our current Show Us Your Backsides contest while you’re over there.
I also have my card for the current challenge over at the Cardalicious blog to share. This week’s challenge is to create a birthday card using the colors blue and green and circles. I know everyone can always use birthday cards, so I hope you all will play along with us. Here is what I did.
Used lots of My Mind’s Eye goodies on here, including the patterned paper, the button, and several of their die-cuts I’ve had in my stash for some time. I hand-cut the bracket using a dingbat I downloaded from the internet as my template, and spelled out my birthday greeting using my favorite new Storyteller alpha stickers from Webster’s Pages. The turquoise trim is also from Webster’s new trim collection. If you haven’t seen the Storyteller alphas yet, you really NEED to. Each sheet contains not only four different colors, but two different sizes as well, with four different colorways to choose from. I would recommend getting all four! ;) We are going to be featuring these alphas and this trim in our May Paper-Playground kit, along with papers and cardstock stickers from A Sweet Life and Magical Wishes. Great way to get these items if you haven’t been able to find them locally!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see you all at inspireME tomorrow!

Hi everyone! I am really in almost a state of shock that it’s Thursday already. Still feels like the week is just getting started, and here it is almost the weekend already. Not that I’m complaining about that, mind you. Just where on earth does the time go?
My mom has been here visiting with us the last couple of weeks, and that has kept us on a busy schedule. Took her to the nursery last weekend where we picked out some perennials for my back yard. They are only one gallon plants, so I figured it wouldn’t be that difficult a task to get them planted. We picked out 10 before we decided that was enough for now. Thank goodness we stopped, because it feels like we’ll never get these plants in the ground. Each hole is it’s own little battle fought against the compacted clay “soil” of North Carolina. We now have 8 of the plants in, after working two very full days on them. I do believe that all my once-held desire to garden has completely and permanently disappeared! ;)
But on to better news, I do have some Webster’s Pages things to share today. The first is the scoop on some live chats that Webster’s will be holding on their community blog site, inspireME, on April 28th. I’m excited to say that this time, we will be holding two separate chats during the day in hopes that more of our international friends can join us. One at 9 am and one at 9 pm, both Eastern Standard time. You can google the time zones for your area to see exactly when they would match up for you. We will be previewing the new mid-season release titled Sweet as Cherry Pie, announcing the winner of our quarterly banner drawing, giving away some free prizes, debuting the new Webster’s Facebook group, and just hanging out. I hope you all can join us for the fun!
I also have a card to show using both of the new Webster’s CHA lines, Magical Wishes and A Sweet Life. It’s always a sad occasion when you need a sympathy card, but the beautiful and classical lines were perfect for what I was hoping to create.
The paper is a mixture of both lines. I really like the blend of the bold and soft colors and patterns. The garden gate, raspberry branch and yellow flower were cut directly from the papers, and the gorgeous butterfly is from the new vellum journaling cards. Both the trims are from Webster’s new collection, as well. I used one of my older Stampin’Up stamps for the sentiment.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope Spring is shining down on all of you!

Morning everyone! I have a little bit of Webster’s Pages goodness to share with you all today. I’ve spent part of the morning drooling over all the CHA photos that are starting to flood the galleries. I will never cease to be amazed at what stunning booth displays there are at that show. I went for the very first time to the summer show last year, and I will never forget the magical feel of the whole experience. I so wish I was there in person, but am still thrilled to just browse online. Think I could spend hours doing so. Some of my favorite booth photos so far are from Graphic45 and 7Gypsies. Of course I was super excited to see some photos of the Webster’s Pages booth. Looks like Brandin really outdid herself, and it was so fun for me to see peeks of my projects here and there. You can go see some of these photos on the Webster’s Pages blog, inspireME, posted by the super talented Cindy (MammaJamma) who is lucky enough to have been there in person. Here is one of her booth photos showing some of my projects for the show.
Doesn’t that display look SO pretty? I love the tube lighting and the glass and moss. Wow! Love it! That little mini album I made to showcase some of my absolute favorite photos of my two kiddos from 2008. Maya Road gave us those adorable chipboard minis to work with. I love the die-cut edges and the staggered pages. Gorgeous! Here are the inside pages.
And finally, the front and back covers.
The edge of each page was painted, inked, and distressed. The more distressing, the better. And then the pages were created using papers and journaling cards from the Hello, Beautiful collection, as well as pieces from the Old World Journaling cards.
Thanks so much for taking a peek! And don’t forget about the live chat on the inspireME site tonight, 9 pm EST. There will be prizes! If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still plenty of time. Hope to see you all there!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday to you! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine flew by, as usual. We had our monthly Paper-Playground crop on Saturday, which was as fun as ever. Yet once again, I accomplished next to nothing. Too much gabbing, too much eating….and then I got involved in a few games as well……you know how it goes, right? But still, SO much fun. Would love for you guys to join us some month, if you’re ever in the Raleigh area. Don’t know exactly where the rest of the weekend went. All I did was blink. I swear.
But the start of a new week means the opportunity for some new challenges, which is always a good thing in my book. Hope you’ll join us for the Random Chaos challenge this week. You are to use black and white photo(s), ribbon, and the color blue on a layout. I used my January kit from Paper-Playground to make my page.
Winter Wishes, Hopes, and Dreams
Did this page about our hopes for actually getting some snow this year, for the first time in five years. Every winter we hope, and every year we get disappointed. We’ve learned not to trust in what the weathermen say or to get our hopes up too high. Last Monday,we had snow in the forecast, but I really didn’t believe it would happen. It was actually on the warm side on Monday….in the 50’s I believe, and not a cloud in the sky. I thought we were in for another disappointment. Nik and I went outdoors to check things out, and it was truly hard to believe. But miracles do happen, and we did get our snow. 6 inches of it, as a matter of fact, and two days off from school. Yippee!
I kept my page very soft and neutral in color, with just small touches of blue for a pop of color. Layered the Autumn Leaves die-cut paper over some Melissa Frances, added several lines of simple journaling strips, and created a fun title split using a combination of the Making Memories tiny ledgers alphas with the Melissa Frances rub-ons that come in the kit. For my main accent piece, I traced around the snowflake glimmer screen with pen, fancy cut the edges, and embellished with the Q&Co. gems and one of the Melissa Frances resin frames. And of course I added the ribbon for the ribbon requirement. ;) These kits are almost gone, but we do still have two left on the website for whoever would like to give one a good home!
Hope you all come play along. Be sure to check out the blog and see what the other wonderful designers came up with. And don’t forget the live chat on the Webster’s Pages blog, inspireME, tomorrow night at 9 pm EST. You must be registered on the inspireME site to participate, so make sure you do that before tomorrow evening. We will be talking about the new releases, giving away some prizes, and hopefully sharing some photos from CHA, as well. Would love to see you all there!

Hello everyone! What a busy week this has been. It’s hard to believe it has almost slipped away on me without my having a chance to share my card for the Sketch This blog this week. And this week’s sketch is such a great one, I can’t let that happen. So without further ado, here is sketch #69.
And here is my card.
This card makes me happy. So simple, but just plain fun. I used some definition cardstock stickers from 7Gypsies, several colors of cardstock, a touch of ribbon and hand-stitching, and two more cute die-cuts from Carolee’s that have been in my stash for years. I opted to leave the sentiment off, which is one of the great thing about sketches….just use as little or as much of them as you wish.
It feels so good to go into my old stash and finally use some of those piled up products. I’ve now made two cards with those die-cuts that make me smile, and I’ve still got some left. Thought I would do another giveaway for these little remaining cuties.
If you are interested, just leave me a comment and I will do a random drawing over the weekend for a winner. I’d love for them to bring a smile to someone else’s face!
It was awesome to see so many of you at our first live chat at inspireME last night! I have to say that it was my first live chat, and I was really amazed at how many people participated and at how FAST that message screen moved!! I had no idea it would be like that! I didn’t get to say much because I was so busy trying to read the screen and keep up with everyone. I’ve made a little mental note to WEAR MY GLASSES NEXT TIME. But it was definitely fun and exciting, and the best part of all is that I’ve got some great news to share with you all. Tomorrow…
I’m such a tease!

Hi all! Can you believe it’s the first of October already? I LOVE October. It has to be my most favorite month of the year, and now that it’s finally here, I can start bringing out my Halloween decorations in earnest! ;)! I’m also very excited because the October kit from Paper-Playground is making it’s big debut today! This one is a real beauty! It’s full of fall colors and patterns, rich texture and luxurious ribbons, and a touch of Halloween without going over the top. The specialty papers this month are absolutely gorgeous. Take a look.
Here are a few more detail photos.
The papers this month are a mixture of Creative Imaginations’ Harvest Moon and Making Memories’ Spellbound collections. There is a chipboard alphabet from Little Yellow Bicycle’s Frightful Collection, and cardstock stickers from Creative Imaginations. Three yards of gorgeous ribbon from May Arts, and a whole embellishment bag full of all sorts of fun bits and pieces. Love, love it!! Be sure to go to the website for a full list of contents and all our kit information.
Some of you have been asking me lately what my connection to this kit is. Not only do I get to do design work with these kits each month, I am also co-owner of the club along with my good pal, Kathie. :0! I would love to hear what you think of the kits. Can’t wait to see your comments!
Don’t forget that tonight is our first ever live chat over at Webster’s Pages community blog site, inspireME. I received several emails today with a few hints at some of tonight’s reveals that you all WON’T want to miss. I cannot tell you how excited I am. Be sure to hop over to the blog to find out all the details. Chat starts at 10 pm EST. Hope to see you all there!
Have a great day!
